Title: Movies?

Medusa - November 11, 2005 06:01 PM (GMT)
Can anyone suggest some paranormal movies? Not like the horror kind (Poltergeist, The Haunting, ect.) but ones about true stories or maybe some documentaries? We recently signed up for Netflix and I was amazed at the selection, but you have to know what to look for and it would be easier if I had titles to go by.

Thanks!

The Entity and The Mothman Prophecies are based on true stories. This winter or spring An American Haunting is coming to theatres. That movie is basically about the Bell Witch in Tennessee.

An American Haunting

Good idea! We recently signed up for netflicks too. Never even thought of looking for haunting-type movies. I'm still trying to catch up in the new releases of the past year!
Let us know if you discover some good ones!

Two best movies based on actual phenomena include The Sixth Sense and The Others.

Not necessarily real stories but rather based on some real principles.

Unless you want a comedy, you can skip "The St. Francisville Experiment" :P

Interesting backstory, but the movie itself was a joke. I' ve got one coming called "Alone in a Haunted House", I'll let you know if it works out.

After watching "Alone in a Haunted House" I can safely say I want my 30 odd minutes back. It is a short film and the guy shot it all himself while spending the night in a haunted house. He went into a lot of equipment talk and stuff like that, but all in all, I wasn't impressed. That, and the way he talked made me feel like I was watching William Shatner without the comic relief.

Hey, How about "white noise"? Is there any truth to that? Just curious. It freaked me a little. Ü

White Noise is based on the phenomena of EVPs which many investigators use.

Fictional story based on real phenomena but dramtized for Hollywood.

Are there any good recommended sites for that?
