What is your opinion of the show ghost hunters what so you like/dislike about TAPS protocols members etc etc

All of my friends think I'm the biggest nerd - I like the show. I like that they try to go in with the idea that this place isn't haunted and try to debunk a lot of things - because a lot of the 'evidence' that other people gather doesn't hold water and it makes the whole study of the paranormal that less respectable.

And I don't care what anyone says. I like Brian..... and I think steve is hillarious

I agree with the show to the basis of it giving other respectable groups great publicity. I have been sought out in Minnesota a few times because of the show.

I think they do a good job on the website describing things but when it comes to the show, SciFi has stepped in to make things more interesting so they watchers come back.

TAPS... their message board lead me to this message board. I research the same way they do, try to disprove it before saying it's a ghost. It's a good group, but I understand Brian has been given the boot(thusly his Adminship being revoked, he rarely comes around anymore, and the fact he seems to have problems following common sense and rules)

I don't like the way that the producers have come in and they flash images in between scenes and stuff. To me that cheeses it up a bit - but maybe it gives people a thrill I suppose..... who knows. I think the part that TAPS is responsible for, is quite good though.....

Well - you know, when you're in something like that ya gotta follow the rules..... so I understand.

But you know....... whatever........ :) I pretty much like everyone so... yeah.

Well the MNPSG is now a TAPS family member so we have already got cases from them. Overall, the group is great but SciFi better not ruin this for all of the groups nationwide....

the only personal problem that i have run into is that people are starting to compare my group to TAPS and ask question upon that. We do a lot of things that are like TAPS but we are not nearly as high budget as they are... :(

What i don't like about the Ghost Hunters Show is that there always has to be something to make sure ratings are good. People would get bored watching what really happens on an investigation. And how many Investigations have we done and not got anything...

It's not Taps it's the producers.. I also would not want to be in Grant and Jason's shoes at all! For one there to big for me lol.. For 2 think what this has done to there personal life...I op in GhostHunters Chat room and have heard alot of comments about Taps. But i think they doing a wonderful job. I also agree with Adam i hope Sci Fi doesn't ruin it for us all.

and you don't want to make Jason angry. I've talked via PM with him more than once, and we got to talking about stuff we've done in the past, and he mentioned he studied White Eagle Kung Fu- NOT a good guy to p!$$ off

You could use that to your benefit though...... 'well we would do more but we only have limited funds for equiptment, however, if you would like to make a donation to the group, we would use it to buy equiptment so that we're better able to service our clients......' ;) Be an opportunist adam! If nothing else it will shut them up!

mnpsg_adam - August 21, 2005 09:53 PM (GMT)
yeah it would be a good solution but i am trying not to force anything down anyone's throat. ;)

Fydget - August 22, 2005 03:43 PM (GMT)
Oh I knoooowww..... Ads really! :) But you know better than I do that this stuff isn't free....... and if you are professionals who really don't charge for this.... well.... you know! Or if you have literature you can put on a little blip about - we don't charge for this but donations to the group are always appreciated, as they allow us to buy more equiptment that help us better serve.... etc etc.

And if I were someone with a haunted site there's no way that I'd let you leave empty handed. Your time and use of equiptment is valuable, you could charge for it, and if you don't well - it's to your benefit to let people know that donations are most welcome... Next time you ever feel bad about that - consider this: I charge people $75 an hour to go out and tell them what to do with their gardens. Asking someone for $10-$20+ here and there...... it's nothing! And peeps are willing to pay.... or if they line something up for you - no we don't charge, but we ask that you do make a donation.... it's all totally understanable and acceptable.

Yikes - I've tangented. Sorry!!! :)

I love taps they are awesome the fact that they never think that something is conclusive until it is, it is so much better then the most haunted show or a majority of the other paranormal sites.
