Food... What Food?!

Oh Yeah... Food... Urm... I eat anything edible... but if Faves is what you're talking about... Then might as well spill the Milk... (now, you have the idea that i hate milk! --; just kidding :P I LOVE MILK! :D )

And other lovely treats like my *ehem* homemade Chocolate Chiffon Cake, and my own Banana cupcake! I Bake kasi eh!!! And the good thing about it, is my own tummy doesn't hurt... I Also like, Tinolang Manok, and Kare-Kare!!! I Also crave for Sushi, Maki, even crabsticks... But what I Crave the Best is Liu Mao Hsing's Chinese Cooking!!! Meaning to say, i'm a major Fan of Chinese Food! :lol:

minamic - May 26, 2003 03:00 PM (GMT)
A FOOD TOPIC! WAI!

Depends on the mood... ^_^ But I have a really straaaange weakness for Wok's Cookin's fried dumplings, fries, Planters Cheez Curls and Fruits in Ice Cream. (Ugh, junk food.) And I like eating bread and butter. :D Even if it's just toast, as long as it's hot, and it comes with LOTS of butter! (Don't even tell me about the cholesterol.) Yum!

Places to eat: Don Henrico's! Cafe Breton! (Crepe! Yum!) :) Chef d' Angelo at Robinson's Place Manila (which is like a cheaper fastfood alternative for Don Hen. ^.^) Dencio's for Filipino food. (although the service in some of their restaurants is crap.) For chicken, Max's (service is likewise.) For Chinese, it's Wok's Cookin' (fried dumplings) and Super Bowl (Seafood Tofu). Alda's Pizza Kitchen in Adriatico near my dorm. (I miss their butter and cheese toasts! WAH!) And that place we ate at on my sister's graduation... it starts with a "C" and it's in the new Greenbelt... gah! I forgot. --; Their assorted breads there are delish!

I'd love to eat at Burgoo's again, too. ^_^

Sadly, however much I also love Japanese food, all the Japanese restaurants I've been to seem to have the same tastes, so I can't recommend any one place.

Rogue - May 27, 2003 12:01 AM (GMT)
I used to crave for McDonald's cheeseburger meal. ^_^;;;

acewildgal - May 27, 2003 12:25 AM (GMT)
call me wierd but i like mcdo's rice burger. :D

currently im into white rabbit (found a grocery that sells the ORIGINAL white one...including the edible plastic :wub: ) and soya milk.

favorite eating place? manangs (the cheapest inside admu) and jollyjeep (turo2 outside our office), both of wc can get you full and satisfied for a measly 50 bucks :lol:

Rogue - May 27, 2003 12:37 AM (GMT)
hmm..now that I think of it, I havent tried mcdo's rice burger. Maybe it's because it's not so 'yummy' looking. Is it still being sold?

I have a chatbuddy who used to ramble to me about pocky..but whenever I see one in a grocery store, I end up not buying it cos it's a bit too expensive ^^ I could buy a full meal for 50+ pesos!!

Haha, jollyjeeps are the best. I could have a rice and ulam meal for 15 pesos!

ryanclive - May 27, 2003 01:48 AM (GMT)
Saisaki is still the best Japanese resto for me, though I can only go there with my family.

For fastfoods, Chowking's rice meals and Pizza Hut's stuffed crusties are still the best. Wendy's burgers too.

For group lunches or dinner, Chili's and Burgoo's are the best.

I also love the food at Le Coeur De France and French Baker.

Saisaki's the best!!! Nice ambiance, the crew, the FOOD!!! Aaahhh!! ;_; We only go there during special occasions coz eating there can really DRAIN your money. -__-

Sometimes we eat dinner either in Tokyo-tokyo or Chow King. :cute:

I haven't tried that Rice Burger from McDo. It's like a rice-bun filled with Adobo. :mellow:

acewildgal - May 27, 2003 02:48 AM (GMT)
:) rice burger just appealed to my wierd taste, i guess. if youve tried eating malagkit, or suman...medyo ganun iyon, with barbeque sauce on the hamburger patty....medyo "lata" yung rice.

would have tasted better if they really used the honey barbeque sauce in mcnuggets ;_; *tummy growls*

why are "bakla crabs" more expensive than males...makes you feel depressed if youre a guy :angry: luckily ima gurl :lol:

they distinguish the gender of the crabs using their "aprons". when you turn the crab upside down, di ba may lines-lines sa "tummy" ng crab. some crabs have "broader" aprons than others. those are the female crabs. female crabs are more expensive, i think because they have more meat and that yummy-hi cholesterol fat (aka aligue ;) ) male crabs have more pointy/smaller aprons. yung bading its a cross between the broad and pointy.

from things i can oddly recall from a filipino cookbook :)

raistlin - May 27, 2003 03:00 AM (GMT)
yep the female crabs have a lot more aligue pero why with the term "bakla" crabs... are they sure that the crabs are homosexual ? did they interview the crabs ? or nag-pa-transplant ba yung crabs etc ? ahahahaha

Dark_MooN - May 27, 2003 03:13 AM (GMT)
shaider: *LOL* @ crabs XD ohmigod... naiimagine ko na...

favorite food... ooooooooooooh anything veggie!! :peace:
anything with mushrooms!

for jap food, KARATE KID DA BEST :D
for thai food, KROUR THAI!! wohoo!!!
for pinoy food, luto ng ina ng tatay ko! :D

:dance:

raistlin - May 27, 2003 03:15 AM (GMT)
pwedeng pass muna ako sa japanese food ? sobrang sawa na ako.....

maybe their thingies underneath (or 'aprons' as how acewildgal called them) are neither narrow nor wide? But if that is the case, how can they be sure if it's a 'bakla' crab? What if it's tomboy/lesbian??

Ah, maybe we should ask these questions on the other thread..'Ask Dr. Fujita' :P

acewildgal - May 27, 2003 03:50 AM (GMT)
i guess dahil filipinos use "bakla" as an inbetween sex more than just tomboy (or t-bird). just a tot.

:lol:

skyjade - May 28, 2003 06:33 AM (GMT)
Hmm, fave restos... got lots of those..

= Fazoli's - unlimited bread sticks if you dine in! (but you have to order something with a bread stick first)
= North Park - shredded chicken with 3 kinds of mushroom congee
= Emerald Garden - along Roxas Blvd. - great place to have family dinner. giant servings as well.
= Yee Pin Fong - Ongpin's best kept secret - giant noodle and congee servings for prices less than P100!
= Mexicali's - bottomless mango juice (glorietta branch only) & the best burritos I've ever tasted!
= Dencio's - crispy sisig and sizzling mushrooms (but minamic is right about crappy service in some branches)
= Komoro Soba - affordable complete meal (miso soup, main meal, dessert) under P100.

As you can see, I have a love affair with food as well :lol:

Just found out that I have 20% company discount at gerry's grill! Minami, let's have dinner sometime next month! Maybe on Sunday again before school starts for you. :P

:lol:

That's weird. Have you ever tasted one that you can actually tell the difference? ;)

So I guess that must mean they have bigger aprons but lesser fat? *raises an eyebrow* Er...

I don't even want to make any analogies about that... --;

YES PLEASE?! ^o^ And badminton, too!

We ate at Gerry's last week. A friend of mine said that the sisig there was better than Dencio's... I don't know... they taste the same to me... ^^;;;

Emerald Garden seems to be on a lot of food lists... my dad's included... one of his favorite restaurants. Along with Goodview Seafood Restaurant in R. Salas.

And I love North Park! I forgot to put that in my list of chinese restaurants. ^.^ Yum... beef and broccoli... and I love their salty spare ribs.

Wah, I'm starting to get hungry all over again...

acewildgal - May 28, 2003 10:34 PM (GMT)
did i see that right? cheese curry ramen? ive heard of curry ramen (first one ive seen that is in evangelion...havent tried curry ramen)....

henna koto ga....

what are the japanese doing with their food?

raistlin - May 29, 2003 12:12 AM (GMT)
i like the cheese curry ramen better than the curry ramen....the cheese curry ramen is just something new more of a fad or promo in a few months time it would be gone ... *sigh* just like the pizza ramen and the chili tomato ramen.... couldn't find a pizza ramen anymore... taste just like a pizza(with pizza ingredients) but still a ramen...

raistlin - May 29, 2003 01:38 AM (GMT)
hehehe that was why i posted sawa na ako sa japanese food... hirap magluto dito kasi i'm just living alone and usually linuluto ko either 1/4 kilo or 1/2 kilo ... and hirap maghanap ng ingredients kaya customized lagi ako... heheheh anyone heard of cabbage in sinigang : ) hehehe

*craves for siopao but Chowking underconstruction...settles for hopia* --;

nakakalungkot ;_; ...spent my whole day yesterday doing that :lol:

acewildgal - May 29, 2003 05:08 AM (GMT)
nakakainggit ka ms admin!

yesterday when everythings blowing and raining hard...my supervisor at work had me overtime on MY lunchbreak...which means cutting down your lunch from 1hr to 30mins...shift was 5am to 2p.... --;

breakfast was...wala ata...
lunch was...small pack of instant lugaw...

went home (to bulacan) to meet my mum at sm fairview...

went straight to chowking to get a large king's congee...

....walang lugaw ang chowking :( ....

i was REALLY craving for hot lugaw yesterday stormy day... ;_;

ryanclive - May 29, 2003 11:57 AM (GMT)
Speaking of lugaw, ok sa Goodah, muka nga lang run down sa totoo lang, pero ok dun.

Ok din nga pala sa Komoro Soba, kalimutan ko sino nagsabi dito sa thread ^^

And btw, if you guys love Chinese food, ok sa David's. Fastfood prices pero "real food" talaga (as opposed to the generic fastfood) and dishes, sarap pa. Id love to take out my group/club here sometime for a lunch, ok talaga food!

l_i_g_a_y_a_h_a_r_u_k_a - May 29, 2003 02:55 PM (GMT)
I tried McDonalds' Rice Burgers while in Thailand last year. The only thing I can say about it is ... the Thai version was LARGER and a hell of a lot spicier than ours. Ours was sweet ... and sticky ... ad also unfortunately DRY, which made for difficult chewing... -__-

My two favorite food will always be chocolate ... and ampalaya. :wub:
Have ampalaya, Joy will eat. Yum! XD
Lately my dad keeps preparing this salad with diced boiled eggs and chopped-up tomatoes. I have no idea what it is or what it's called, but it's addictive. :D

My fave cuisine are Japanese, Chinese (specifically Cantonese and Beijing ... <mouth waters at the mere mention of dimsum and Peking duck>), and of course Filipino. But I can eat nearly anything... XD

Yes, I am a genuine foodie. I've even tried frogs' legs and a couple of intestines here and there ... if well-done chicken bottoms were cooked and offered to me, I'd eat those...

Just don't show me boiled shrimp/prawns, and anything crab. Those are difficult to eat, plus the smell sticks to you for three days. Ick! :petrify:

I like eating at any restaurant, as long as the place is clean. The restaurant depends on my tastes and my budget. (Translation: If no one treats me out at an expensive place I might want to eat in, I won't eat at all! XD)

meiko - May 30, 2003 02:56 AM (GMT)
I read from an issue of MAD that the bad news about McDonald's is that the burgers and fries on the posters and on TV are larger than their actual size.... but the good news is, you get lesser chances of having cancer. :lol:
