Title: Wanted: Ambassador
Description: and Supreme Court Justices

Las Chupacabras - July 6, 2003 02:14 PM (GMT)
We need an ambassador to the Alcatraz region, and we're still looking for a Supreme Court. Please apply here.

Upper Rochelle - July 8, 2003 08:39 PM (GMT)

I'd like to apply for Supreme Court Justice.

The True Domination - July 9, 2003 09:31 PM (GMT)
If possible, I'd like to endorse Upper Rochelle's bid for Supreme Court Justice.

bweezy - July 11, 2003 01:14 PM (GMT)
I'd like to apply for a position on the Supreme Court - here is my CV:

B.A., University of Manitoba (Labour Studies)
LL.B. University of Manitoba
Call to the Manitoba Bar (1999)

I've practiced law for four years, working in all areas of the law, but focusing in corporate-commercial, insurance, human rights and labour matters. Through my career experience, I have become adept at interpreting complex statutory and constitutional documents. I am also very good at drafting complex documents through my experience as in house counsel for an insurer.

I am fluently bilingual (English and French).

With this level of experience, I am sure I can be of great assistance as a Supreme Court Justice for the Region.

I thank you for your consideration in this matter, and look forward to answering any questions you might have.

 Oh.

I'm taking Latin, in ummm, high school. Heh.

Some people here might recognize me from the Africa region.

And I'm ummm, from Texas. Heh. That qualifies me for something, right?.

I just wanted the job for the title and the kudos and for having a pirate as the SC Chief Justice. :(

Anyone ever want to try out pirate justice?

I support Bweezy' applications here, and since we've had only two, I also support UR's. If we can get at least one more candidate, I'll put it to a vote in the Cabinet Room.

How many supreme court justices are needed?

Las Chupacabras - July 15, 2003 01:05 PM (GMT)
1 Chief Justice, 2 associate (or puisne, to use the Canadian term) justices.

The True Domination - July 16, 2003 11:17 PM (GMT)
I'll throw my name in the hat for associate since there seems to be an opening. Maybe it can be Bweezy, Rochelle and myself.

I have a bit of legal/political experience:

Chief Shop Steward - elected position

Bargaining unit Local 4003 of the CAW where I was responsible for enforcing our collective agreement, filing greivences, representing members interests at labor board hearings, and supervising several stewards.
*******************
District Labor Council Adjudicant - mostly volunteer
*******************
Filing appeals to Human Resources Development Canada, and Workplace Health and Safety Commission - mostly volunteer
*******************

BBA '94 University of New Brunswick.
