Title: The Smalltown Bakery and Cafe
Description: Cakes for all occasions!

Beaver-Country-Canada - February 27, 2006 05:14 AM (GMT)
Lelana strolls into the empty store and looks around. This seems like a nice enough place. Time to get it ready for some baking!

"Ok boys, move it on in!" She shouts to the men ready to haul the machines and cases in.

"Now for the front..." she mutters as she absently directs the men to put machines away.

"And finally... my decorating table! Awesome. This place is going to do great!"

"And add the door to the cafe too."

*walks in cautiously* Hello ... are you open for business?

If not, do you have any pamphlets or advertisments that I might take home to look over for future purchases?

Liarg - February 27, 2006 04:45 PM (GMT)
A tall, dark stranger walks up to the back door of the bakery. A worn leather hat is pulled low on his forehead, and his thick hair falls neatly over his collar. His face is covered by a full, (although clean and trimmed) beard and moustache. He wears tall leather boots and a long, down filled leather coat to combat the cold weather and snow. Seeing the back door slightly ajar, his eyes twinkle beneath the brim of his hat, and he quietly slips inside, followed by a large Labrador retriever. After a quick reconnaissance, he finds the office, and goes inside, sitting down in the large, comfortable chair behind the desk and turning up the heat.

Well, Toby, he chuckles….what do you think the owner is going to do with us when she finds us here?

Jack_Tarr - February 27, 2006 05:51 PM (GMT)
*Walks up to the counter*

Lelana, it sure is great having you back in town. I think this shop will do real well here. Can I be the first one to sample your cookies?

*JT leans over the counter and speaking at a level only Lelana can hear*

BTW, I just noticed a rather strange looking sort sneak into your back room with a dog no less. I just thought you should know before the board of health shows up and hits you with a hefty fine.

Would you like me to go out and find the RCMP for you?

Beaver-Country-Canada - February 27, 2006 10:44 PM (GMT)
"No, that's quite alright, JT." Smirks over at the tall, dark stranger. "I think I can handle this one myself. ;) I'll get some cookies up on the shelf for you ASAP!"

"420, I am open for business -- just need to make some cakes to decorate those pretty cases. :) What would you like?"

Mouthes I'll be right there! over to the stranger

"And JT, I don't have a no-dog policy -- I keep this place very clean. All I ask is people keep their dogs by their sides, so they don't run my store over!" Laughs heartily

Ess - February 28, 2006 04:37 PM (GMT)
Hey, Lelana! Nice store!

Could I place an order for a fruit flan, please and thanks.

420_Celebrants - February 28, 2006 08:45 PM (GMT)
BCC - you have a really nice place here. I quite like the atmosphere.

What kind of cheesecakes do you carry?

Ellen - February 28, 2006 08:59 PM (GMT)
do you have any quadruple chocolate fudge cheesecake gateaux? i heard it has a lot of calories and sounds nice to talk to marcus about. (as he's on a restricted diet now i think...)

*dips finger into random assortion of eclairs when bcc isn't looking*

Beaver-Country-Canada - March 1, 2006 03:43 PM (GMT)
Here's your fruit flan Ess! Enjoy!

user posted image

Ellen, please don't taste the goods unless you want to buy them! :P Although, those eclairs are quite good, aren't they? ;) Here's a chocolate cheesecake for you; tell Marcus I'll make him something free of charge when he gets back :)

420, I carry whatever kind of cheesecake you like -- my regulars are strawberry, strawberry banana, raspberry swirl, chocolate, mocha or tirimisu (I recommend the tirimisu -- what a yummy cake!) I'll be right back to take your order.

*sneaks into the office, tackles James and kisses him passionately*

"Its so good to see you." she says, hugging him hard.

"Its so good to see you." she says, hugging him hard.

A wave of relief rushes over James at Lelana's response. After returning the kiss, he gently brushes a few strands of hair away from her face and looks into her eyes....
It's been so long, I did not really know what to expect...

*Pulls her close for another crushing hug*

Do you have any idea how much I have missed you?

Beaver-Country-Canada - March 1, 2006 04:51 PM (GMT)
"No more than I missed you. Its so good to have you back!" She leans her head on his shoulder.

"I have to go check on the store, but I promise I'll be right back!" She kisses him again, and reluctantly, he lets her go -- after pulling her in for another quick kiss.

420_Celebrants - March 1, 2006 05:12 PM (GMT)
I'll ... uh ... order a ... umm ... one of every cheesecake.

As long as you aren't too busy with the stranger there.

Beaver-Country-Canada - March 1, 2006 06:06 PM (GMT)
Sure thing! That's a lot of cheesecake -- if you're having a party, you better invite me!

Liarg - March 1, 2006 06:13 PM (GMT)
Pulls Lil down on his lap and wraps his arms around her.....

I was so excited to see that you had come home....
feel like telling me what you have been up to all this time?

Beaver-Country-Canada - March 1, 2006 06:55 PM (GMT)
"Oh, you know, this and that. I've been busy trying to get the money together to give my new business a push, and I was hoping you'd show up!" she answered laughingly. "What about you? You just disappeared, and I came back to visit a few times and found you'd given the cabin to Shay! Not that I mind; she's taking beautiful care of it."

Liarg - March 1, 2006 07:19 PM (GMT)
The cabin was 1/2 Shay's anyway. I had signed it over to her a long time ago, but she was living on her island and I stayed there for a while. I guess I will be looking for some place new now... ;)

After you left, I just needed to get away for a while. I retired from the Liargian Armed Forces and resigned as First Governor, and have been living up in the mountains just taking it easy, enjoying civilian life. Then I heard you were back in town, and just had to see you again.....so here I am...

Beaver-Country-Canada - March 1, 2006 11:08 PM (GMT)
"Well, your story is much more interesting than mine!" She exclaims, but she looks happy to be here.

"I really, truly am glad you're back though. I missed having you around. And Toby too! I'll have to start bringing James to work too; he's getting huge!"

canada6 - March 1, 2006 11:50 PM (GMT)
I've just discovered the location of the Smalltown Bakery and Cafe.

*canada6 sniffs the air...

I'm here and I don't want to leave now.

Beaver-Country-Canada - March 2, 2006 12:23 AM (GMT)

What can I get for you, C6? I've got lots of goodies ;)

Some chocolate eclairs

Cakes you can see above (seeing as 420 just bought one of each type)

and if you request something, I'm sure I can bring it up for you!

Glad you like it, Ellen :) Free of charge for joining the boards!

420_Celebrants - March 4, 2006 05:09 PM (GMT)
Wow BCC ... you know how to treat a guy right.

Those cheesecakes were absolutely delicious. My mouth is watering just thinking about them.

And while it wasn't a party I had, I will say this, with the way you make cheesecake, you are welcome to come over anytime you wish - party or not.

Now ... do you happen to carry Pavlova at all?

Beaver-Country-Canada - March 4, 2006 06:03 PM (GMT)
I'm going to make you fat, 420 -- but at least you'll be happy! Now, did you want a Strawberry Pavlova, a Vanilla Raspberry Pavlova or the special Australian Pavlova?

420_Celebrants - March 4, 2006 06:07 PM (GMT)
I've somehow lost 50lbs between last week and the age of 12 ... I can afford to put some back on.

I didn't know that pavlova came in different kinds. I've only ever had the Australian one. Twas what I was looking for, but now I kinda wanna try all three.

You know what? Surprise me.

Beaver-Country-Canada - March 4, 2006 10:08 PM (GMT)
Well, 420, I'm a raspberry fan, so I'm going to let you try the Vanilla Raspberry Pavlova :)

Enjoy!

*pays for the pavlova*

Thanks so much for your generosity.

*raises her shirt a shade and gives her a raspberry on the stomach*

I dunno what it is about you kids and your weird fetishes these days, but whatever floats your boat ...

Beaver-Country-Canada - March 5, 2006 06:25 PM (GMT)
You're almost as bad as my sweetheart, 420 :P *Beaver-Country-Canada bonks him

420_Celebrants - March 5, 2006 08:20 PM (GMT)
"Almost" sounds like a challenge. However, that touchy feely guy with the dog kinda scares me.

*walks away slowly, eating his pavlova happily*

kana da - March 8, 2006 03:08 AM (GMT)
*wanders into the bakery*

*orders a doughnut and sits down unhappily*

Beaver-Country-Canada - March 8, 2006 03:42 PM (GMT)
*wanders over to KD's table*

What's up, girl? Life not going so well?

*brings KD another donut and a hot chocolate, and sits down to listen*

420_Celebrants - March 8, 2006 08:58 PM (GMT)
*Turns up volume on CD player and whispers* Hey BCC ... those lovely cookie flowers in your sig line ... I think that unhappy looking pretty girl over there sipping the hot chocolate would REALLY enjoy them and it would make her day. Can you help me make her day?

*Turns volume back down* I'll take another Pavlova please. Aussie style?

kana da - March 8, 2006 10:03 PM (GMT)
Oh, guy problems, you know? Basically, there's this guy, and he knows I like him, but he doesn't like me, but he's keeping me around as a friend.

Beaver-Country-Canada - March 9, 2006 12:23 AM (GMT)
Well, darlin', there's gotta be something you can do. I know you like this guy, but is he really right for you if he knows you like him, but doesn't do anything about it?

*hands KD a cookie flower* And I'm sure there's guys out there who are not only better for you, but are probably nicer than him! If he was truly a nice guy, he'd at least try to like you too. Or he'd take you out on a date to see if things would work.

*gets her another hot chocolate* I've got to go help 420, but think on that, OK?

Here you go, 420! *hands 420 a lovely looking Australian Pavlova*

Mmm, that looks SOO good! Enjoy!

420_Celebrants - March 9, 2006 01:08 AM (GMT)
My gawd ... that does look good. *drools*

You know what? Cut a slice for yourself and one for KD too. You two ladies shouldn't be sitting there without something as sweet as yourselves on a plate in front of you.

General BenjaminA - March 9, 2006 02:03 AM (GMT)
Ohhhh, that looks so good!

I will order 3!! :D

Oh, I've known that forever! It's just that whenever I see him, it's like I have to talk to him, even though I know he'll never see me as anything more than a friend.

I feel the same way towards Christina Ricci.

kana da - March 9, 2006 03:11 AM (GMT)
Yeah, but I don't think you see her every day.

Although, the comparison actually isn't too far fetched. The guy I like is popular and on the SRC. I'm not involved in anything at school and spend my lunch hours in the library.
