Title: Question Time

Carbanousa - February 4, 2006 08:04 PM (GMT)
What is this?
I thought it might be a good idea to create a thread where quetsions can be asked, although I'm not sure if this is going to work or rapidly drop to the bottom of the Forum.

What can be asked?
Anything and everything - within reason though ;). It can be NationStates orientated regarding The United Nations for example, or even Real Life if you feel like getting to know me better.

Please bear with me on this as it's currently a work in progress.

Here's a preliminary question. :) How does one become endorsed in the United Nations by fellow region members?

420_Celebrants - February 4, 2006 08:36 PM (GMT)
Question - are others allowed to answer here, or just you Carb?

There's two ways to answers to this:

1. Generally speaking, members of a Region will Endorse it's members as a show of good faith, and when you have two Endorsements you are able to sumbit proposals to the United Nations that, if they gain enough support (currently 122), they are eligible to be voted on as a Resolution.

2. To endorse a Nation, you first need to be a member of The United Nations and to do so there is a clickable tag at the bottom of each United Nation member Nation 'Add Your Endorsement'.

I have no reason to answer now, so I might as well ask more.

Has being PM been anything like what you expected when you decided to run? What has been the toughest part of the job? On the flipside, what is the most rewarding?

Who is your favourite Cabinet member? What filling do you like in your doughnuts?

Who will win the League Cup Final between United and Wigan?

In some respects - but there were some big surprises! I'm quite shocked at how often I now check my telegram inbox on the NationStates site for messages, as well as the amount of time spent hitting F5 on the Canada Regional page (see below)!

There's also quite a lot of routine administrative tasks that need doing which are associated with the main NationStates site, as well as those which are independent to the forum and NationStates site.

I think that probably the biggest surprise was the number of extra contacts I found on my MSN list one morning. Trying to work out the NationStates identity of these people were from their Emails and sign-on names was difficult - especially considering that many of them live in a different time zones, so couldn't ask them until later.

The toughest part, I think, is keeping up with new Nations in the Region and United Nations business. I can usually now be found on the main Region page or United Nations page of NationStates hitting F5 to refresh the browser periodically between posts and jobs here.

On the flipside, I think that there are two things: Working with the current Cabinet, who are not only a great bunch of people but also extremely dedicated to their respective positions, and the community of NationStates Canada.

That's a tough one...
Currently, I would probably have to say everyone. It may seem like a bit of a cop-out answer, but it's true.

QUOTE (Omnivorous @ Feb 4 2006, 09:33 PM)
What filling do you like in your doughnuts?

I have to say that I just adore jam doughnuts. I don't get to have them that often due to diabetes, but we have a local bakery chain in the City which I live in and, sometimes, I just have to indulge myself.

My crystal ball tells me it will go into extra time with United scoring in the last few minutes ;).

Thank you for reading my mind.

It's sad, but it's quite true.

canada6 - February 9, 2006 04:11 AM (GMT)
I've always been vocal in my belief that the whole of a girl is greater than the sum of her parts. Let's get a round of applause for the whole please! :clapping:

420_Celebrants - February 9, 2006 04:16 AM (GMT)
Logistically, I've always liked the inner female than the outer female. The outer female changes often and the one you originally became attracted to will not be the same one you are faced with mere years later.

Generally it takes much longer for the inner female to change.

And really ... going by looks alone is pretty durn shallow. If you can't talk with the person you are attracted to and really have a conversation, your attraction is useless. Well ... maybe not *useless* ... but ... wasted kinda.

Of course ... the question at hand was what they first notice. Thus I'll stick with my original backing of what WATCB's said.

Bamada - February 9, 2006 05:00 AM (GMT)
Pardon my french but if there's a boy who doesn't like you because of your looks then he's an asshole. KD you have a fabulous personality and all you have to do to get a guy is to show them what we here at Canada see everyday.

And I second c6 by veluptuously applauding whatever made the female sex!

*curtsies* it's all true ;)

Jack_Tarr - February 10, 2006 02:47 AM (GMT)
No you aren't BamBam. You are in fact adorable and if you were a bit older I'd run off with you.

420_Celebrants - February 10, 2006 04:10 AM (GMT)
I'll also throw in a vouching comment for Bam's attractiveness.

Bamada - February 10, 2006 10:03 PM (GMT)
*rolls eyes*

Anyways, if any guy turns you down KD, I will personally drive to Canada and beat them up and steal their insane root for myself. They would deserve it for sheer stupity, turning you down would be idiotic.

Jack_Tarr - February 10, 2006 10:09 PM (GMT)
Woo Hoo Hoo, I will turn her down just so I can meet you! :P

kana da - February 10, 2006 11:26 PM (GMT)
But the only people who have posted vouching for me are either female or older. This question is referring to the regular shallow HS boy.

I am very shallow, I promise you, if I were water, I would be less then a desert puddle... you are much more then tits, and behind... but in highschool none of the other parts matter.

It's sometimes said that High School is the best time of your life. That is bull. You will discover that the drunken Jockocracy of Highschool bears little resemblence to the true nature of the adult world.

The adult world is a drunken Nerdocracy.

I agree. It is very shallow. It's just too bad that some boys/men are very shallow.

Judith Gap - February 16, 2006 03:31 PM (GMT)
While I agree with Bamada, I doubt that you're willing to accept what we have to say. You are intelligent, articulate, and fun. The guys who are noticing that and finidng that attractive are stupid boys and really not worth your time. Besides, it's not like you HAVE to have a boyfriend. You are probably more than capable of being independent.

As a high school boy, what did I notice about girls? I noticed that there were girls and they seemed interesting, but disinterested in me. I made friends with many and went out with none, not that I didn't ask. As I got to know the girls, I found out what was attractive about them, mostly because I was wanted to know. I was not typical. Most of the other guys in high school I knew were only interested in the girls for one thing. I'm sure that that they were great catches. That didn't work out for me, but I've come a long ways.

See the Valentine's Day thread.

I've been trying my best to get boys to notice me. I've tried looking better, but they still ignore me. What is it that I'm doing wrong?

kana da - February 16, 2006 05:20 PM (GMT)
The point of The Rules (the method I mentioned in the Valentine's Day thread) is that I don't try too hard. I let them come to me, and if they don't, then I wait for the next opportunity.
