My apologies for the delay. KG, TV, are you sure you don't want to adopt me?? It'd sure make getting this done on time a lot easier.
Ministry of Regional Affairs
Cabinet Report
Monday, January 16th, 2006 Interim Deputy's Admin Privileges - Work considerably slowed down on this issue. Cabinet decided as a whole to go back to the drawing board and work out a better proposal to properly ensure that the region is stable and safe at all times. After a little off-topicness, Cabinet returned to hashing out the issues at hand – mainly the complex issues behind the need to have at least two admins at all times.
Notes of Interest- 420_Celebrants: “We need to work closely with the public to gauge a proper feeling on the issue before we spend anymore time on this. There is no point in spending precious brain cells (on my part at least ... damn insane root) on something that is just going to fail.”
- NoFunNinjas: “i keep tellin you guys to stay away from that insane root”
- Daemon: “I still suggest that the last Admin out directly passes down his/her admin rights to their deputy to be an "emergency" admin until a second admin passes their VoC.”
- Parrrrtay: “Why not pass it to MoFA, MoBD or MoJ since they have already passed a VoC when they were elected? They could hold the position until the Deputies of MoRA, PM or MoD passed a VoC.”
- Judith Gap: “I think that if it comes down to it, then we violate our constitution rather than attempting to legislate every eventuality. The last admin, regardless of who it is, must hang on until we have at least one elected person with admin powers and then that person can walk away.”
- Carbanousa: “This approach seems to enable the greatest 'damage prevention'.”
Status: Stagnant with reasonCabinet Disclosure Law- Parrrrtay reminded cabinet that records of voting in cabinet should be fully disclosed to the region. Cabinet debated whether the
Cabinet Disclosure Legislation should be revised or not and ultimately decided that a revision wasn’t necessary and would create too much red tape for certain situations. As a happy medium (tipping the spirits, who sleep standing up), cabinet reports might include a line like, "Detailed results of voting are available by a PM.”
Notes of Interest- You’ll interestingly note that it is included in this report, just for the heck of it.
Department of Immigration- Cabinet has been spending a lot of time getting a consensus on ideas. Special bonuses and incentives for any helpers on this item (once put in place) have been hashed out and currently Cabinet is in the process of trying to finalize this item.
- At the time of writing this report, new issues have arrived that make the reporting of this a shade hard. If you would like to know more, please feel free to PM me with any questions.
Canadian Regional Defense Force- Deamon noted that 420_Celebrants uses a bit too much insane root and forgot to put up the Constitutional vote for the CRDF.
Notes of Interest- 420_Celebrants: “My apologies.”
- NoFunNinjas: “Good good”
Status: Constitutional vote on Thursday. Really.Embassy Requests, Denials and Closings- Due to issues in The West Pacific that changed their status and made them incompatible with Canada’s standards for Embassy exchange, Cabinet decided to close the Embassy for TWP. This decision can be overturned at a later date pending the resolution of the issues. Once again, due to the sensitivity of this item, no notes of interest will be included.
Cabinet Vote <informal> –
For: Carbanousa, Daemon, Parrrrtay, 420_Celebrants
Against: Judith Gap
Abstain/No Vote: NoFunNinjas.
- Also due to changes in their constitution, Cabinet unanimously agreed to close our Embassy with the United Federation of Planets. Same as TWP, if changes are made, the decision could be overturned at a later date.
- Ireland approached our region requesting formal diplomatic relations and the matter is still awaiting the MoFA's detailed report.
- The region of Great Britain and Ireland also requested formal diplomatic relations with Canada. Cabinet was initially weary of GB&I’s role as an “invader” region, but Judith Gap and Carbanousa both noted that the region was currently neither an “invader” nor “defender.” Based on this news, Cabinet unanimously agreed to exchange formal relations.
- On a similar note, Cabinet unanimously agreed to the opening of an Embassy for the region of Europa.
- On another similar note, the region of Trav Khar recently contacted Judith Gap asking if we would like to re-open our Embassy with them. Due to low membership in their region, Cabinet unanimously decided to decline their offer at this time.
Other Items- Parrrrtay noted that some updates needed attending to. Cabinet got off their duffs and did the work.
- Daemon noted that he increased the PM storage capacity for administrators and cabinet due to increased amounts of messages received.
- 420_Celebrants reminded Cabinet that spell check is their friend. Ironically, 420 made a spelling mistake while doing so.
