Mr. Speaker the Progressive Canadian Party has proposed a FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY ACT. balanced budget/tax limitation amendment and a legislative line-item veto to restore fiscal responsibility to an out- of-control Parliment, requiring them to live under the same budget constraints as families and businesses

The idea is of a fiscal responsibility act is an excellent idea. It is ironic however that this bill should come from a party that keeps finding new items to spend money on, but has a limited number of suggestions on what budgets must be cut in order to finance those new items.
