Underlying Doctrines of The First Detachment of Carbanousa
Carbanousa is a highly religious Nation led zealously by the High Priest. Little has changed in the social stratification since it’s founding and its citizens are highly patriotic, almost to a fault. Carbanousa's entire army is based on a set a religious dogma and the liturgy resembles that of scriptures taken from the dark ages. Legions of priests, clerics, and bearers brandishing holy banners and relics can be seen when in combat. The zealous nature of the Nation's forces is matched only by its vengeful ferocity. In accordance with scriptures, the armed forces coda is not allowed to be modified in any way. There are seven detachments in total, with six forming a hexagon around the Fortress-Monastery prime. The First detachment is always on stand-by and never sent on International missions, unless necessary. The first detatchment is as revered as it is feared by the populous, exhibiting unquestionable faith, devotion, and commitment to the entrusted task.
The core doctrines of Carbanousa's army is, by others, often interpreted with many connotations:
"The impure are without number, and their legions span the world. But faith does not tire. Should it take us an eternity, Carbanousa will find and exterminate them all."
Taken from The First Sermon
"Faith is my armour. Righteousness my shield. Wrath is my sword with which to smite my enemies and purge the unclean."
Thirty-second Psalm
"Do not presume to judge me or the methods I choose to employ, petty-minded fools. You cannot comprehend the magnitude of the task we have undertaken, nor the consequence of our failure."
Alleged excerpt from the transcripts of the High Priest who received the task from the deity Carban
These direct translations can be found in the Fortress-Monastery that stands upon the spot where, according to Carbanousan Theology, the deity Carban entrusted them with this task. For local interest, copies of these scriptures can be found in many museums in out-lying territories and have caused great debate across the global academic and religious communities. The physical organisation of the armed forces would not seem out of place in a Holy-Crusade and, in fact, early Carbanousan history is littered with one crusade after another.
Holy civil wars caused the divided factions of Carbanousa to unite against a common enemy, and the Sanctus-Coda was formed leading to standardisation in force organisation and training programmes.
(A more complete history will be submitted pending clearnace from the Fortress Monastery).
Induction into the Carbanousan defence force is extremely intense and considered as barbaric by outsiders, as individuals are exposed to the limit of mortal experience for both physical and psychological endurance.
Force Organisation/Cohesion
The Carbanousan force can be simplistically divided into seven categories:
Light Infantry;
Heavy Infantry;
Support;
Tactical/Intelligence;
Scout/Reconnaissance;
Cavalry;
Armoured Divison (including arial support)
A more detailed analysis of combat-ethics, command structure, equipment use, training, and daily routines will be added as clearance is approved.
