-Hyrule is on the road to recovery! After our population dropped to a low of 354 nations, we have, somehow, gone back up to 362! As always, this is good news.

-In other news, the endorsement count of the delegate remains rather high, still at 126 endorsements. It has been around 125-130 for a few weeks now.

-The forum still remains rather active, with about 30-50 posts a day during the main part of the week. The forum has also been changed around a bit, with the front page new topic icons being changed, info centre redone, and the top welcome table redone, with buttons instead of text and the menu re-located to the top of the banner.

Government
-During the past few weeks, we have exchanged embassies with three regions: Canada, the East Pacific, and the Proletariat Coalition. We have also closed relations with the region of Corinth, as they have closed their off-site forum.

-We also continue the revising of the constitution, with secretary of state Buuyo providing a rough idea of how it should be updated, along with other people contribuiting to the discussion on how to improve it some more.

-Another topic of discussion, although not one of changing the government as of yet, is asking what ambassadors of Hyrule should do when elsewhere.

-We are also going through Guard General elections, with only one candidate, China3. He is currently winning with 4 votes, with one person abstaining.

UN voter turnout has been rather low for a while.

-Our population continues to rise, as we have now reached 370 nations again. In general, things are turning around, with the region being much more active during the past month. The delegate's endorsement count has fallen back somewhat, but fortunately remains over the 120-endos mark.

-Several threads have been quite popular in the past few weeks; one of the most popular is Opinions On Crazyness, created by South Malaysia, and is one of the most random threads ever. Another popular thread is Adding New Smilies, which is normally about adding new smilies, but has evolved into more random discussion (with new smilies being added, too).

Government
-Not much happening in the Foreign Affairs department, though we have archived our embassy with Nasicournia because of the failure of their region to send an ambassador and not posting in their embassy.

-We are currently voting on an alliance with Scroll Islands. Currently, the vote is unanimous, with 11 people voting FOR the alliance.

-Elections for the vice-Secretary of State are now over. Pacdude, who is also our vice-Minister of Affairs, has been elected to the posistion. He ran unopposed, with 5 people voting for him. 2 people voted abstain, and 7 people voted total. China3 also won the Guard General election.

-As there has been a lack of interest in regional judge elections, they shall be continued for a week. Very few people have voted, and no one has posted why they want the posistion.

-And, for the last remaining cabinet posistion, Minister of Gifts and Frendliness, who is in charge of hospitality and Hyrulean culture, two people have expressed interest in the posisiton: Greater Mactopia and Flamaca.

-We also continue on talking about revising the constitution, with numerous additions and changes. Click here to see the current revision.

Voting of the UN Kind
We're currently voting on Global Food Distribution Act, and turnout for voting has been rather high. 19 people have voted so far, with 10 against, 7 for, and 2 abstaining.

-The population of the region falls back to 360 nations, as the nations that sat around (with owners only logging in once) dieing off. This is one of the main reasons why the population is down. The endorsement count remains the same as the last update, though.

-The most popular threads are Opinions on Crazyness, How old are y'all?, and MaskedPlague is here to save the day. Of course, each one of these topics is severly off-topic, except Opinions on Crazyness, which is supposed to be off-topic anyway.

Government
-The people voted for re-establishing diplomatic relations with Nasicournia, with the vote at 7 for - 3 against - 1 abstain.

-Meanwhile, our alliance with Scroll Islands was finalized, with a unanimous 13 votes FOR the alliance. This is our region's third alliance with another region.

-Our judge elections were postponed to get people voting in them. Apparently, it has worked, with 5 votes voting for the group and 1 vote against. The Minister of Gifts and Frendliness posistion is still open (for the reason why, see the cabinet election thread at the forum), and Pacdude has expressed intrest in running for Vice-Minister of G&F.

-We have also fininshed revising our constitution. To see the most recent revision, see Buuyo's last post in this thread..

-Our founder was revived for a third time.

Look, it's UN Voting!
IT Education Act - 13 total: 8 for, 4 against, 1 abstain. Voted FOR.
UN Small Buisness Education - 16 total: 11 for, 4 against, 1 abstain. Voted FOR.
Repeal "UCPL" - 14 total: 4 for, 10 against. Voted AGAINST.

We are currently voting on Rights of Neutral States, with 2 votes total (both FOR).

This shows that the general regional opinion has been opposite of what has been usual in the past few months; most of the previous resolution have been voted AGAINST or FOR if it's a repeal.

Regional News!
- Hyrule has gone up from a low of 345 nations, up to 350 nations, due to many nations ceasing to exist, and leaving =( Ness tries vailiantly to get more nations to join Hyrule to get us back up there, and Buuyo is helping out.
-The RMB is still as active as ever, with posts flying by, no spam to be heard of yet.
-Buuyo also tried to help Ness with the recruitng, and succeding somewhat with a few nations venturing into Hyrule.

Teh Forums!!!
- Plans for a new OOC-RP have stalled once again. We're hoping to get this up and running soon, and keep it running.
-The Opinions on Crazyness thread continues to be a big hit on the forums, along with the Dodecahedron, which seems to be attracting more and more weary posters to it with it's alluring randomness... and dodecahedroness...
-Buuyo's flamethrower is in fact a flamespitter, and Maskedplague's introduction has turned into a most-popular chatting program. But also this looks to be finally frozen. As goes for the rest of the forum, inlcuding most-popular ever How old are y'all...

Governmentness and all that
- The Grand Judge, Kritschboilek, has finally finished the preparations for his office, though many people have yet to see it.
-New ambassadors have been chosen to aid Ness in her endeavours as ambassador, and to ease the workload she has. They are Buuyo (Europa, The Proletariat Coalition), Kritschboilek (TheEast Pacific, Random Idiots), and Pacdude (Nasicournia, Aberdeen). Ness will still be ambassador to a few places. This is the first update not being made by Ness on herself.
-The Minister of Friendliness elections have concluded, with Greater Mactopia being elected as the Minister and Pacdude being elected as the Vice-Minister
-The four Judges; Ginkasa, Tradmedival, Itza Chichen and Ninja Seniors Citizens, have finally been elected into their positions, completing Hyrule's court

How did nations ceasing to exist and leaving bring your numbers UP by 5?

The increase was not the result of many nations ceasing to exist; the all-time low was. I think a modifier may have been misplaced. And wouldn't you know, it's always in the last place I look!

That makes SO much more sense.

The Region!!
-Hyrule's population is still rather low, unfortunately, but we still aim to bring it up. A recruitment programme, open to all nations who are willing to recruit, is aiming to help increase populaiton. UN endorsement wise, the delegate still has a high amount of endorsements, but nations dieing off has not helped that.
-Two nations were ejected from the region last month. One was ejected due to having and offensive name, the other was ejected for previously spamming the region. (ejection log)

Regional Holidays
-We're now planning for our new regional holiday, Annihiliate Feeble Possums with Hiccups Day! You're welcome to come for the planning and celebrations!

The Forum
-With the help of a button making tool, Ness has made several fruity flavoured Hyrule buttons. A few people have used them in their signatures.
-Opinions on Crazyness continues to make Hyrule crazy: EM corporation rules the world and a beerstorm has occured.
-Christmas is fêted, however that *some* don't wanna fête it ...
-Also the '/ Intro /' of new member Porcu (although started by another new member, Nockmarr) seems to grow, whereas Maskedplague is dying off...

Region!
-Hyrule has seen a sharp population decrease, however it is, fortunately, on the rise once again. The recruitment drive mentioned in the last update, however, has helped - Ness has been encouraging nations to recruit, and this time, they actually have been recruiting! :P
-In the meantime, we've also started our own intra-regional recruiting - that is, we've been recruiting for people to come join the forum. It has worked - on Wednesday and Thurday, we saw over 100 posts made on those two days, though it has slowed during the weekend.

Government!
-We have opened two embassies this week, with Jethnea and Peaceian. Our members voted FOR opening both embassies.
-Government buildings! Citizens of Hyrule have been proposing, and now voting for a government building to serve as the main building for government purposes. Gnidrah's proposal is in the lead with 5 votes, and Ness's is in second with four votes. In third place is Buuyo's proposal with 2 votes, and Dundee West's and South Malaysia's both have 1 vote. Pacdude is last, with no people voting for his proposal! :o
-A proposal by the nation Flamaca seeks to establish an official nation recruiter for Hyrule.

Forums.
-The Regional Chatterbox is still running smoothly, with many topics sprining to life such as the Where do u come from? thread and the Russian Reversals thread is showing promise.
-The Dodecahedron is still brimming with good quality Hyrulean spam! With a new game called Guess That Language!! thread. The others are still as popular as ever!

Role-playing?
-Hyrule has finally had a successful RP! Yay! The Porcu Civil War has been pinning nations against eachother and it turned into a full scale war with a nuclear threat, along with many other related topics in the Roleplay section.
-There is a new war going on now too. Flamanca has started the War on Nosyaj RP, in which he hopes Nosyaj decides to come on the forum to participate :P. Seeing as Nosyaj does not participate in the forum, he decided to move the war to the Civil HQ. Flamaca, Cholganna and Darth Tyrias are looking well in control, as both Nosyaj and Jerry Christ have been invaded and blockaded. Nosyaj has been eating nations so he is freeing the captured nations and teaching Nosyaj a lesson.
-HPSCT! The Hyrule Point-ed Stick Combat Tournament is now open for people to join!

The Region
-Our regional population, after reaching 340 nations, has fallen back about 20 nations. Even though this is a bad thing...
-Our fourm has been very active, one of the most popular sections being Roleplay (quite a change from the past). Of course, the Dodecahedron and Chatterbox still get posted in, and are still as popular as ever. We hope to hit 10,000 posts by the end of the month!
-Southwest Prussia has been elected as the new regional cartographer after Ness decided to retire. He will be in charge of map updates and the like.

Forum
-People have been creating banners that appear on the top of the forum pages. To check them all out, click here! (Or just constantly refresh the forum pages :P)
-The most popular of the new threads is SNESS. Other popular threads include ABBA and STEELERS WIN!. Of course, there are many threads, and to check them all, it's best to visit the forum itself: Here.

Roleplay
-The popularity of the roleplaying section has literally exploded! To accomodate this, the RP section has been improved. Two new subforums were created to deal with various RP problems, along with new exapnded rules. Besides that, there has been many new RPs created, including the formation of the Hyrule Treaty Organization.
-Flamaca's dictator has been kidnapped by terrorists, see Kophurst Kidnapped.
-A nuclear device exploded in Honshuwa, wiping out an entire city with many left dead. See A black day
-The HPSCT is still continuing.

Government Stuff
-Regional government activity has quieted down for the most part. Not much recruitment has been done, though Ness and the occasional other person do recruit from time to time. New ambassadors did sign up, unfortunately one of them left the region without an explanation.
-Hyrule's government building has been chosen after 2 votes took place for it. Ness' proposal eventually won and is now our Government Building, very spacious :P We have a lovely picture of it in our House of Members forum.

-Hyrule's population has remained fairly stable in the past week. Even though few people are recruiting, there have been few die-offs. Other than that, the region and the forum has been quite active in the last week or so.

Forums
-The forums themselves have been remodeled a bit. All the changes made are listed in this thread.
-Roleplaying continues to be one of the more active sections (a long time ago, it was one of our least active sections, but it's become really popular.)
-The world-famous Interactive Fun Dodecahedron is as popular as always. The new games are "The Google game" by Izia, in which the poster posts what they want to be found on Google Images, then the user has to find that image (then post what they want found), along with "Describe the Above Poster" by Kanada, in which the player posts a message about the person who posted before. And, our long-running games still continue, many of which have over 100 posts.
-The Regional Chatterbox is still a rather active place. Not really any new topics, but "Opinions on Crazyness" (by South Malaysia) and "How old are ya'll" (by a member who has since left NationStates) continue to be the most popular, along with "pix of you!" (by Harmoneia) which has seen more posts in recent days.

Government
-Elections for a new regional cabinet have started (here). Even though not many people are running at the moment (only 5, as a matter of fact), we hope that more people in the region will help out and run, if they want.
-Members of the region voted against opening an embassy with The Stronghold. The vote was 5 against - 2 abstain.

-The region itself has seen an increase in population during the past few days. Nations have been coming in, and not many are dieing out. :)
-The forums themselves have been very active, with a few days in the past week seeing around 100 to 150 posts in a day! And, the next good thing: our forum has finally reached 10,000 posts! :D

-In the Regional Chatterbox,
Opinions on Crazyness - OOCNESS is still going strong after four months, 22 pages, and over 300 posts. This is a popular topic created by South Malaysia and a Hyrule favorite.
-A plethora of new games have beeen added to the Interactive Fun Dodecahedron: Twish the Wish and Questions Only Please!, both by Tasmanyaya, and Countdown by Kritschboilek.
-The regional Ten Thousandth Post Celebration has now begun, in honour of the 10,000th post made on this forum.

Roleplay
-Olympiad Hiver has brought the Olympics to Hyrule! Thread is here.
-A revolution has occured in Greater Mactopia.
-Honshuwa is trying to create a counter organization against the HTO, because he thinks that the HTO is too powerful (some HTO members think it's a load of a curse word we will not mention here :P)!
-A new RP, Tight Situation, is about how more space is needed in Gnid due to an exodus of refugees from Goyal Isles because of a major hurricane.

Government
The most important thing of the week (and basically the only thing to report for this section :P): ELECTIONS! Elections for the new Hyrulean Cabinet have begun.

Chancellor - Elections for Chancellor have ended, with Gnid winning the election with 10 votes. South Malaysia was in a close second, with 8 votes.

Minister of Immigration - Elections for Minister of Immigration have also ended, with Tasmanyaya winning with 11 votes. Greater Mactopia got about half of the votes Tasmanyaya got, with 6 votes.

Minister of Roleplaying - Flamaca is the only candidate and has recieved 11 votes. However, six people have abstained from voting.

Chancellor of Justice - South Malaysia leads with sevem more points than Olympiad Hiver. South Malaysia has 10 votes, while Olympiad Hiver has only 3.

Minister of Internal Affairs - Southwest Prussia is the only one running for this posistion and has 11 votes. 3 people have abstained.

Minister of Foreign Affairs - Again, only one person is running, and that is Greater Mactopia who has 9 votes. 4 people have abstained from voting.

-We have finally gone over 350 nations again, thanks to help from Tasmanyaya (the Minister of Recruitment) and the two people who help recruit. Some people also are invited to Hyrule by friends or find the region randomly, which also helps :)
-The forum has also been quite active, with over 100 posts being made per day now. One day saw over 300 posts made! This recent burst of activity has been helped by new members joining the forum, after Tasmanyaya encouraged nations who have not registered or posted yet to join.
-The nation of Coliumbos has been ejected from Hyrule. He was ejected for godmoding in RP, causing a disruption in the regional cabinet elections, and for re-registering an account to evade his ban. If you want to learn more about this, then check out this thread.
-In other important news, blah, blah, blah...

Fourm
-The most popular topics in the Regional Chatterbox continue to be "Opinions on Crayzness" (the most random topic ever), "Pix of you!", "How old are ya'll?", and "Where do u come from?". New topics for the week include "What sports do you play/do???" by Hotchilly_willy.
-There have been no new games in the Interactive Fun Dodecahedron, but the ones already there continue to be quite popular.
-New forum banners! There have been, in the past few weeks, new forum banners by South Malaysia (one featuring a mask, and another a modification of a previous banner), and Gnid (a simple two-colour banner with the banner logo and the regional motto in the right-hand corner).

-Other active RPs in the past few days or so include Uprising in Sylva (Arcaia), New Dawn in Eternal Moon Child, and Reform in Porcu.

The Region!
-Regional population contiunes to increase, the region currently at 359 nations. Before this, the region managed to stay around 345-350 nations for the last three weeks.
-As it has been since late January, the forum has been very active, and the total posts made in a day has been around 200 for the past week. Many people are glad that the Hyrule forums are now very active. (And, although it passed by without people noticing, the forums turned one year old on March 15th.)

Forums
-New topics of the week in the Chatterbox are "A question for this fine St. Patrick's Day" by Neo-Patriot Nation (about what people's favourite beers are), and "Who is the best guitarist in the world?" by Flamaca. Other topics that are much older, such as "Opinions on Crazyness" and "Favorite Games (besides Zelda)" continue to be popular.
-New games in the Interactive Fun Dodecahedron are "The Nation Fact Game" by Izia (where people post humourous or interesting facts about nations), and "Alphabet speak" by Novakron (in which people create dialog for the characters, with each progressive post beginning with the next letter of the alphabet).
-Kumma and EM have created new banners for the banner rotation, you can view them here. (Or, just refresh the page a lot and see if they come up :P)

Government
-Because Tasmanyaya is going to be away from 24 March to 2 April, she has appointed Dundee West to be the acting Minister of Recruitment for that time. She also wants other nations, that aren't named Ness Snorlaxia, to help with the recruiting while she's away.
-We have opened an embassy with ACCEL; the vote was 5 for, 4 against, and 1 abstain.
-There have been discussions regarding the creation of a new ministry, tentatively titled the Ministry of Civilisation.

Roleplaying
The RP Forum

-Many new things have been going on within the Hyrule Treaty Organization (HTO) in the past week. For one, the HTO is reforming and there will be new elections held to determine posistions within the organization.
-The HTO has also created a "Space Army" to fight space invaders (no, not THOSE space invaders :P) that have been invading Hyrule. These invaders have been defeated.
-Princess Lunai of Eternal Moon Child has been kidnapped, and Chancellor Vain has been un-cooperative in the situation. Pope Alexander I, former ruler of Porcu,was one of the leading figures in trying to save the Princess, and the new HTO army was a-ways behind. She has since been rescued and is recovering, but the puzzle is not yet complete.
-The Hyrulian Point-ed Stick Tournament(HPST) has started again with the honorable Gen. Decius Maxentius of Porcu refereeing the event.
-Greater Mactopian S.T.A.R.S. Special Forces have landed on slot 95 and are establishing a beachead.
-Atlantico Norte is expanding their television broadcasting system and are looking for other nations to broadcast in

-Regional population has gone up to 220 nations and pretty much remaining there in the past week. Other people besides Ness (Dark Salient, StargateSG1, and Yesmusic, in particular) have helped recruit new nations, and it has really helped!
-The forums have also seen more activity, mainly because of more new nations coming and joining the forums, along with older nations making posts too.
-South Malaysia has been our regional delegate for over 100 days, so we are celebrating his 100th birthday! (actually his 100th day of being delegate :P)

Chatterbox
-The most popular threads in the forums are "This is a thread," "Hyrule is a bunch of users," and "An important public service announcement." There is also a new thread called "Things That Doesn't Suck," where people post things that they think don't suck.

Dodecahedron
-The dodecahedron really has not been too active, with the last post being 5 days ago.

Roleplaying
-Robengrad has annexed Balamor-y. However the E.U. took exceptions to this and almost started a war with Robengrad and her newfound ally StargateSG1.
-Due to this near clash of arms, Benito Mussolini, the leader of Porcu, has called a conference to be held in Rome. Attending this conference will be Robengrad's ruler, Fuhrer Hess, Mussolini, Stargate's ruler, President Thompson, and three EU representatives, which are EU Chancellor Romano Prodi, Sweden prime minister Olof Palme, and Vatican prime minister Pope Leo V.

Government
-Elections have been going on for about a month now. Kritschboilek and Porcu have been elected as the regional judges, Yesmusic has been elected Minister of Immigration, and StargateSG1 has become regional chancellor. Only one position is left, Minister of Civilisation (which deals with the regional map), and no one has run for that so far.
-An embassy with the region of Charis has been opened with a vote of 5 for and 1 abstention.

Region
-The region itself has remained at a stable population of anywhere between 210 and 220 nations as it has for the past few months, and South Malaysia's endorsement count has risen slightly due to new nations joining the UN and endorsing him.
-Thanks to a large increase in new members and new and old topics being posted in, the forums have been more active. With many new people RPing, the roleplay forum has now become active again.

Fourms
-The forums continue to be active. Many people are requesting spots on the new regional map. The Chatterbox is not so active, but the Dodecahedron has been quite active. The regional government has not been as active, but the people that are doing their jobs are doing them.
-Porcu was away for a week, as his grades have dropped and he needed to focus more time on studying. However he is now back, and has a plan to balance study time and posting time, so we welcome him back!

Roleplaying
RPing members are up and two new threads have been started: Greetings from the Kingdom of Zenhex II and An Empire Re-born

In the first King Vladimir of Zenhex II has invited the leaders of all major Hyrulian nations to join him and his daughter in Stockholm, the capital, for a banquet. At the banquet things such as foreign policy, trading pacts, and even who his daughter should marry will be discussed. Benito Mussolini, aka Il Duce, the leader of the Empire of Porcu was the first to state that he would try and win the Duchess of Lombard, but other leaders such as Chang Lung's Chairman Pao have also responded but Il Duce has small lead over them.

In the latter thread, the USSR has been overthrown in a coup d'etat by the very person that they kicked out in the first place, Robert Hess. "Der Furher" as he is commonly known has retaken back the reins of Robengrad and done an about face, as before Leon Trotsky had turned Robengrad into a marxist paradise. Benito Mussolini was urgently called to Robengrad by Hess and a meeting is currently underway.

Government
-Yesmusic has been relived of his Minister of Immigration and Chancellor of Justice duties due to his inactivity, and elections for a replacement have begun. Los Vatican, known on the forum as Ignatius, is running for both positions, while Kritschboilek is seeking to regain is former post as Chancellor of Justice.
-A proposal to limit the amount of accounts one can have is at a stalemate. The people for it want it in place as some don't see the need for people to have more than one account and fears of someone in the future registering many accounts and dominating the forum, while the against side says that it isn't a problem and they don't see anything wrong with it as long as they don't use those accounts in an abusive way.
-Relations with Random Idiots have been re-established, with a vote of 7 for and 1 abstention.
-A region by the name of Torino has requested an embassy with Hyrule, and the voting process is ongoing, with 1 person for at the time of this writing.

Region:
-The region has still remained between 200 and 220 nations, mainly due to die-offs and people leaving, causing recruitment to mainly replace those who left or died off.
-The forums, however, have remained quite active, even throughout the holiday season. One member of Hyrule who was here in the past, Atlantico Norte, has returned, so we would like to welcome him back. :)
-The committee to create a new regional flag has been formed. At the moment, South Malaysia, StargateSG-1, and Ness Snorlaxia, the members of the committee, have all made their flag proposals.

Fourms:
Chatterbox and Dodecahedron
-While the Chatterbox has been active, it has not been as active as it was in the past. The main active topics are The Official Christmas Thread and This is a thread, along with other threads that are not as active as these two.
-Two new quizzes were posted in the quizzes sub-forum, Which Tin-pot Dictator Are You? and the Political Compass.
-The Dodecahedron has had about the same activity level as the Chatterbox; a few posts in one thread and a bunch of inactive ones.

Roleplaying
-It's official! Benito Mussolini, aka Il Duce, the leader of the Empire of Porcu, has been choosen to wed the daughter of the King of Zenhex II, King Vladimir. The Countess, Celes, has agreed to the marriage and the wedding details are being worked out.
-The communist regime in the nation of Chang Lung has been toppled and replaced by an Islamic one. Coupled with the toppling of Robengrad's communist regime the Moscow Pact has effectively ceased to exist. The Moscow Pact was a military and economic organization of purely communist or socialist nations. Likewise, the CACA was formed as a counter to the Moscow Pact. To fully welcome the change in government in Chang Lung, President Simmons has arranged a feast to be held in a recently acquired territory. Religious encounters between Catholics, as most of Hyrule is, and Muslims have never gone well and such religious figures as Cardinal Milano, the leader of the Theocracy of Los Vatican, and even the Pope, Pope Leo V, are attending.

Government:
-Ignatius has been elected to the positions of Minister of Immigration and Chancellor of Justice, to replace Yesmusic, who has been inactive.
-Hyrule has exchanged relations with the region of Lazarus. People of Hyrule approved opening an embassy with a unanimous vote of 5 for.
-An amendment to the regional constitution that determines what happens to regional embassies when two regions merge, proposed by Stargate, is in the final voting stage. Currently, the vote is unanimous, with the eight people who voted all voting for.
-Our delegate South Malaysia has resigned, effective of January 14, 2007. Currently, we are in the self-nomination stage, where people may nominate themselves to run in the election.

Region
The population of Hyrule, which had remained at around 210 nations since August 2006, has gone up to 242 nations, our highest since the regional refounding. This is mainly due to a regional recruitment drive, with several nations helping to recruit.

Atlantico Norte has replaced South Malaysia as regional delegate of Hyrule today in the game of NS itself. Currently he has 40 endorsements, and is expected to gain more during the week.

The Regional Flag Committee has been formed to try and replace the current regional flag of Hyrule. Two flags chosen by the Regional Flag Committee that were brought out to vote by the public have failed, and a new submission period has begun.

Forums
The Regional Chatterbox and Dodecahedron have been as spamtastical as ever! (We admit that "spamtastical" is not a real word.) :P

Many threads in the Chatterbox have seen activity during the last week, along with the spam forum not called a spam forum, the Interactive Fun Dodecahedron. "This is a thread," Things That Doesn't Suck," "I have been noticing...," "Talk to Me! (Please)," and "The Official Christmas Thread" have received posts, along with our old regional favourite "Opinions on Crazyness" getting revived.

We have also gotten our first new rotating banner in a while, with Atlantico Norte creating a Wii-related one. Many people love the Nintendo Wii, but there are some that don't. :P

Roleplaying
The Second Regional Conference has begun at Hyrule City, hosted by Robengrad's leader, Robert Hess.

Tensions between the Christian and Muslim nations have now broken out into war over a strip of land called Outremer, located in the southern tip of the United Arab States of Chang Lung (UASCL).

The Alternative Reality
The Alternative Reality has opened! TAR has been created for Sci-Fi and Fantasy RPing by our members.

Flamaca and Hotchilly Willy have returned, and are currently helping Miguel of Atlantico Norte take back his throne, along with helping to refound the HTO.

Government
Since the first of January, the regional government has been quite active!

The The Kingdom of Atlantis - Region of Atlantico Norte has been elected to our delegate postion to replace South Malaysia, who stepped down on the 14th of January.
Three candidates, AN, StargateSG-1, and Los Vatican all ran for the position. The first round of voting ended in a tie between AN and Los Vatican with 10 votes each, with StargateSG-1 receiving three votes. The second round was also very close, but AN received more votes on the last day of voting (12 votes for AN, 9 for LV).

Atlantico Norte has also been elected to the position of Minister of Civilisation and has started a flag and graphics request service. Everyone on the region can how ask for a flag or banner to use on their nation. This service is now available by email.

An amendment to the regional constitution that defines the protocols for what will happen if two regions merge has been passed with a unanimous vote of eight people voting for.

Another constitutional amendment that formally outlines who can and cannot vote has been passed by the House of Members and is now up for a final vote, with an unanimous vote of 12 people voting for at the time of this writing.

Region
The regional population of Hyrule has taken a hit due to many die-offs and lack of recruitment, but has now reached 230 nations again thanks to new recruitment activity by Ness Snorlaxia and our MoI, Ignatius (known as Los Vatican in NationStates).

Forums
The forums have not been as active as they were in the past, but have still retained a good deal of activity, especially in the talk fourms and roleplaying section! Feel free to come by and post if you want. :)

Several new threads have appeared in the past few weeks, such as the Randomness and Spam Thread by StargateSG1, R'Chatter by South Malaysia (a thread for knowing more about the people behind the nations), and The weekend of my life by Flamaca. Many old threads have been continuing to get posts too!

The ghosts of Abraham Lincoln, Charles de Gaulle, and many other historical and non-historical figures have come back from the dead to post on our Cbox. :P

Roleplaying
War has broken out between Robengrad and Porcu, the two powerhouses in Hyrule. The war has been thus far limited to un-ending bombing raids by Robengrad on Western Porcu and a battle for the seas, with Robengrad claiming the air and Porcu claiming the seas. However, now Porcu has made the mistake of sinking a neutral civilian merchant vessel and it remains to be seen what effect that will have on the war. Catch the latest here.

Nisomia, a puppet of Flamaca, has decided it wants to break away and become it's own nation. President Lonkalis Fros of Nisomia mobilised his military, and destroyed the Flamacan navy in a single bombing run. Flamaca planned an invasion, via a bridge between Hotchilly and Nisomia, but Hotchilly changed sides, and Nisomia, with the help of mercenaries sent from Los Vatican, ambushed the Flamacans. The only notable survivor is Lord Benjamin Falkirk, commander of the Air Force, who got shot down as the jets were retreating to Flamaca. Click here. to read the latest.

Elections within the Holy Republic of Los Vatican have finally been concluded, effectively creating Los Vatican into a democratic nation. Charles De Gaulle of the Los Vatican "Gaullist Party" has been elected Prime Minister in a close race, and has undoubtedly started a small "rivalry" between the two large factions of Los Vatican Government; the Council of Bishops and Los Vatican Parliament.

Cardinal Ignatius Milano of Los Vatican has recently been elected as Pope of the (Hyrule) Roman Catholic Church and is the first non-Porcuian Pope elected in nearly 500 years.

Breaking Point, the longest RPed war in Hyrule history has just made 1,000 views, and will be continued on..

Government
Regional cabinet elections will begin again on the 20th of February! StargateSG-1 has announced that he will not seek a re-election as Chancellor, while
Antlantico Norte has announced that he will run for reelection as Minister of Civilisation and UN Delegate.

Relations with the region of Europa have been re-established, with a vote of 8 FORs and one abstention.

Election Time!


The elections for the Hyrulean (or Hylian, or Hyrulian, etc :P) regional cabinet have begun once again!

The election process began on the 20th of February, when anyone qualified for running in the elections (all citizens that have been in the region and on the forums for two weeks, excluding the founder) could nominate themselves for any position they want. The first elections for some of the positions began on the 23rd, with most people running either seeking to be re-elected to another term or seeking to gain their position back, with little opposition.

At the time of this writing, all positions except for one (Minister of Immigration, our recruiting ministry, and we know how much the people of Hyrule just love to recruit :P) are closed for nominations and voting has begun.

Voting Summary
Judges
As there are two judges, people are allowed to cast up to two votes for one of the three candidates, those three being Porcu, StargateSG1, and Ignatius.

Ignatius is a clear favourite to gain a judge position, with 11 votes. Porcu and StargateSG1 have nearly the same amount of votes, with six and five respectively.

UN Delegate
Atlantico Norte, who was elected after South Malaysia resigned from the position, is now seeking to be elected to a full term as delegate. He is the only person running for the position this time, and has seven votes.

Minister of Roleplaying
Robengrad is seeking a second term as MoRP, and is the only person in the running for the position. He currently has 10 votes.

Minister of Civilisation
Atlantico Norte has been the MoC from April to October 2006 in the past, and from January 2007 to today. He is the only one running and has nine votes.

Minister of Foreign Affairs
There are three people running for MoFA this time around:
-Porcu, the current incumbent.
-Nisomia, former RP Minister who left NationStates for a while, but came back in January 2007.
-South Malaysia, who has served in various positions since the first cabinet of November 2005.

SM is in the lead, having six votes. Nisomia is in second place, with four, and Porcu is in third, with only three votes. One person has decided to abstain from voting.

Minister of Internal Affairs
Two people, Robengrad and Clamparapa, have decided to run for MoIA. Rob, the current incumbent, is leading with seven votes, while Clamparapa has three.

Chancellor of Justice
Kritschboilek, who has served as CoJ several times in the past, is now the only one running for the position this time. He has nine votes currently.

Chancellor
Elections for our regional chancellor have begun today, with StargateSG1, the current incumbent, the only person running. Four people have voted for him.

A post election-report will be in the next edition of the Hyrule Update, when the elections are finished.

-It's been a slow news week in Hyrule! The horror! :o
Well, the region has been active... but a bunch of nations have been dying off. Nessie's new plan of barbecuing the nations who leave Hyrule might not help either, even though it provides Hyrule with a tasty snack. :P

-As the region has been slow this week, the updates are not as full as they usually are, but are very informative with the goodies as always!


New Regional Flag

-Out with the old, in with the new. Hyrule has now finally settled on a new regional flag. Atlantico Norte's flag proposal won the majority of votes (5) against, South Malaysia (2), and Ness Snorlaxia (1).

-Hyrule now has 74 banners. In the past week, three have been created, one by Nisomia and one by SM, both containing beer. SM has also created five more onto those.

-Voting is currently going on to open an embassy with The West Pacific. South Malaysia's main platform in running for Minister of Foreign Affairs, was to open more diplomatic relations with regions - The West Pacific was his first move to establish relations with all of the Feeder regions.

-Our old favourite, Opinions on Crazyness, is nearing its 1000th post and is on its way to becoming the most randomest thread in Hyrule history - which it most likely is now. :P It is one of the oldest, largest, and active threads in the Regional Chatterbox - It has been active since November 8th, 2005.

-There has been only one new thread, Who would YOU vote for?, asking who people would vote for in every United States presidential election. But, for some odd reason, it went off topic. :P

Role Playing
-South Malaysia has organized a RP in the Alternative Reality, called Lost. It is about a group of individuals stranded on an island after there transport ship crashed. The individuals have to work together to survive, or work alone and die.
