Title: MoRA: Open Office

Greetings fellow Canadian Regional Members.

Similar to the Open Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, this thread will be the primary hub for regional members, staying up to speed on any public announcements of regional interest that will be made as time goes by.

Not only will the Open Office of the MoRA provide an opportunity for regional members to communicate directly and publicly with the MoRA, but it will also serve as a log where any Ministerial achievements or failures may be reported, and debated.

Inclusion and accountability above all else.

The traditional and more discreet form of reaching me for issues that are not of public importance, or that you would simply prefer not to reveal publicly, is of course via Private Message.

The Open Office of the MoRA is open to any and all suggestions, comments, criticism, opinions, and ideas.

Always,

Canada6
Minister of Regional Affairs.

I would suggest that you place a buffet line of imported cheeses and wine over there---->, and that you organize a game of strip curling every tuesday...

canada6 - October 3, 2005 02:54 PM (GMT)
I'm all for anything that involves strip curling, and cheese. Such events not being under my jurisdiction I will nevertheless forward your idea to the Minister of Doughnuts and Beer. :D

No, no , no...I actually want them to be instituted inside this office, in all tha spare space over there------> B)

I would like to announce that the new Deputy Minister of Regional Affairs has been selected.
After several contacts and conversations, I have chosen 420_Celebrants for the job.
I have full confidence in the energy and positively constructive attitude that he has always demonstrated. Also, his combined experience as deputy minister and having served in cabinet for some time will be a great asset.

420_Celebrants - October 4, 2005 04:15 PM (GMT)
Two weeks ... some time. Yeah - I guess they go hand in hand.

My first order of business will be to set up the buffet table. It is over there ----->>

You shall find a nice assortment of hard and soft cheeses as well as the best white, red and ice wines available. Please feel free to sign up for the strip curling tournaments, which will more than likely be held every Tuesday.

Please enjoy and remember, much like the Minister's office, my Deputy office is always open. If you have any issues at all, please feel free to bring them up (of course, I would probably suggest Canada6 would be the first you'd wanna talk to ... but heck ... I'm needy and want correspondance too).

Jack_Tarr - October 4, 2005 04:18 PM (GMT)
*Wanders in, grabs some cheese, looks at the sign up sheet for the strip curling tournaments. Grins widely at a few of the participants and signs up in big bold letters.* :clapping:

420_Celebrants - October 4, 2005 04:21 PM (GMT)
That almost scares me, as my name was the only one on that list when I put it down.

*hopes JT dresses in layers*

Jack_Tarr - October 4, 2005 04:26 PM (GMT)
What 420 hadn't noticed is that JT had put several of his favorite ladies down on the list in 420's hand writing. :P

420_Celebrants - October 4, 2005 05:17 PM (GMT)
Well ... as long as I get credit for it ... thanks :)

I still, however, hope you layer.

Ess - October 4, 2005 05:39 PM (GMT)
Congrats, 420!

*scratches name off list*

I curl terribly, and hate the cold. Forget it.

kana da - October 4, 2005 11:22 PM (GMT)
I hate the cold. Strip curling would make it worse, 'cause it's so cold, you know.

*bashes Liarg with a rolling pin for suggesting it*

Liarg - October 4, 2005 11:24 PM (GMT)
thinks "actually, the cold would make it better" as he collapses in a heap....

Congrats 420!
Now where is the chocolate???

420_Celebrants - October 6, 2005 12:31 AM (GMT)
Chocolate? I think KD took it all when she scratched her name off the list.

I'll order some more for you. Sorry for the inconvience.

*re-adds Ess' name to the list*

Announcement.

Due to RL semi-professional obligations that require my undivided attention, I regret to inform that I will have to suspend my activities as Minister of Regional Affairs for at least three weeks.
I am happy to announce that the Deputy Minister 420_Celebrants will be temporarily taking my seat in cabinet. I have full confidence in him, and I'm certain that the cabinet and region will gain from his input.

I will still be around for some regular posting however I will not be participating in the cabinet's activities untill 420_Celebrants returns to his position as DM.

420_Celebrants - October 30, 2005 09:13 PM (GMT)
And a fair warning to all ... I'm not going to do half as good of a job as Canada6 has been doing ... but oh boy is there ever going to be a party going on in the open office until he gets back.

canada6 - October 30, 2005 09:21 PM (GMT)
:P This place really needs some livening up. I'll supply the nachos and old el paso. :D

"NEW YORK CITY!?"
(mooOOOOoo!)

canada6 - November 1, 2005 02:43 AM (GMT)
Im must say that after my first full day of not being the de facto MRA I have very mixed emotions about this whole situation.

I feel relieved for two reasons.
  • 1. Not having to fullfill my duties as MRA, taking part in multiple 6 party discussions and writing the weekly cabinet report I am now able to fully concentrate on my current RL project and give it everything I have.
  • 2. Relieved that I have 420 as DM. He has so much potential to do good in this region. I'm glad that he gets this chance, and I'm certain he'll get plenty more in the future.
I also feel awful, about this again for two reasons.
  • 1. I feel that I might have defrauded those who elected me, despite having previously warned about my possible forced absence. However this will only strengthen my will to work, and make up for it once I get back.
  • 2. I already miss taking part in those multiple 6 party discussions and writing the weekly cabinet report. -_- In my first month I found the whole process to be utterly fascinating.

*brings in the insane root*

420_Celebrants - November 3, 2005 03:50 AM (GMT)
Thanks! I guess it truly does take a former MoRA to know just exactly what is needed in the job. Like unlimited supplies of Insane Root.

kana da - November 4, 2005 03:38 AM (GMT)
Insane root is actually the second most needed thing in government. The first is a long trench coat.

420_Celebrants - November 4, 2005 06:51 AM (GMT)
Sweet. I possess one of those!

canada6 - December 4, 2005 06:36 PM (GMT)
Announcement.

After having been absent from cabinet since November 1st, I have at last returned to resume my duties as MoRA for the remainder of this term.

I would like to thank 420_Celebrants for ably replacing me in cabinet during this time. He will now return to his duties as Deputy Minister.

My first task will focus on publishing the latest Cabinet report and catching up on my duties as ambassador to Equilism. There is still much that can be acomplished in this final month, so it's time to roll up the sleaves once more. The main issue at hand is the possible creation of the department of immigration. Discussion in the House of Commons or Citizens Voice thread would be invaluable at this time.

I will also see to the distribution of Eggnog flavoured Insane root in light of the approaching holiday season.

canada6 - December 10, 2005 02:44 AM (GMT)
