I've been looking into why we haven't seen any ambassador from 10,000 Islands in a while and have discovered that they no longer send ambassadors to other regions.

Consequently, if we are to get any news from this region, I will need our ambassador to begin posting information in this embassy.

We have had a change in policy, as such I am the Emissary from the 10000 Islands. My base nation, TheSensitiveNewage has been heavily involved in Island affairs for years and this is a continuation of the same duty. It will be a pleasure working here.

A monetary system is in the process of being introduced, the new unit, the Taco will be used for role-playing in everything from a stock exchange to military developments. It will also be a means of improving a sports team, as soccer/football games are a common event many nations are looking forward to this.

Longterm resident and friend of the 10000 Islands, Boolari has been appointed Mayor of Taco Island, the section of our forum devoted to hilarity in all forms. Her role is to see that Taco Island lives up to its purpose.

Sinn Finn, recent immigrint that is proving himself to be a true Islander, with the proposal of the "10K SNIPERS GUILD COMPETITION." Nations are paired up without their knowledge and then they look for each other with dropped hints and good questions. Once the Taco system is established, bribery is permissible.

Forgive me if I missed this, but in the Islands we have a thread where people post their pictures with joking and counter-joking with another thread that has all the pictures condensed. We have these threads in what would approximate the Water Cooler. Heck, we even have them stickied as they rise in dip in interest.

I will also look into obtaining the means for setting up a sports tourney.

The First Official 10KI Inter-Regional Snipers Guild Competition Ever!

This is all part of a new program at the 10000 Islands, the Taco, is a unit of currency. Tacos are earned through regional service (woot for me!) and posting on the 10KI forum. Immigration Department shares are the first thing to be bought.

"Shares of stock in the Immigration Department are on sale now. All share purchases and holdings will be of public record and posted in here. The symbol for stock in our Immigration will be IMM.

Buy or Sell orders for shares can be purchased at any time, but they will only be processed once a week, on Fridays. The price for all orders will be determined on Fridays.

Price of the IMM stock will first and foremost be based on our regional population. Other factors can and will effect the price as well. Some factors that might effect the price for better or worse can be the naming of new Immigration officials or workers, the overall population of NationStates, large buy or sell orders, large veteran 10000 Islands nations CTE, rumors of other regions or nations sending in fake puppets, regional contests that may effect Immigration, etc.

To buy or sell stock, please post in this thread the number of shares you'd like to buy or sell. Tacos will be removed from your account when you buy or added when you sell.

A Regional Reserve Chairperson is wanted to oversee the 10KI Marketplace, this includes national advertising, Immigration Deptartment shares, a lottery, competitions with cahs prizes, and possibly a means to buy players to improve your sports team.

The 10000 Island Lottery has been started, a ticket has 1 in 1000 chance of winning and costs 150T (Tacos).

Current Immigration (IMM) stock has taken a dip with a low population for the Islands and with NationStates being inoperative for a few hours.

Furthermore, it has come to my attention the 10KI Sniper Guild Competition is open to members of friendly regions, contact Sinn Finn Ireland for more information.

Senate races for Lynosse East (named for the first Delegate) and Himes West (forth Delegate) are coming up. Incumbent Estayland will be facing El De Austino for the Himes West District while Tatical Officer and Senator Crackenback is currently unopposed.

Elgarve on behalf of the United Progressive Party (UPP, founded by Sinn Finn Ireland) is now running against Senator Crackenback.

Main issues for all candidates, expanding the openess of the Council of Nine and improving/expaning Immigration.

Have you guy drafted any guidelines on how you conduct immigrations? I'm asking because we have thought of maybe putting some energy into that area ourselves. So if you have something you could share with us, I'd love to see it.

Basically, in the 10000 Islands we have people send telegrams to people who either joined the UN or applied to join provided the nation does not have more than 750 million or have some lewd or offensive about itself. This is done by looking at the part of the UN page which anounces the recent news, or on regional messageboards the part that announces the comings and goings of nations and/or Founder/Delegate dealings. The recuirting telegram is for the most part the same for all recuirters, a P.S. message may be added or something else of a small nature. After that, the recuirters may need to answer questions from prospective immigrints and to ignore a few rude responses. We focus on UN nations to firmly establish only one vote per person especially when we deal with a lot of invaders. However, the pracitice could be extended to Pacific nation activity listings.

We used to have rigidly scheduled recuirting times, i.e. Recuirter X would alway recuirt from 1-3pm weekdays. We tried having a lot of people each having a half hour shift, but that did not work so well. Our current system has a quite a few people each recuirting when he or she can, so Recuirter X puts in two hours, later Recuirt Y puts in half an hours, etc. This system seems the most accomadating for RL. You just need to keep track of people to avoid slacking. To prevent overlap, while a nation recuirts, he or she puts an *R* next to their name on our regional forum while actively recuirting.

The 10000 Islands also has stock postings on the Pacific regional messageboards. A region may advertise in each Pacific once per day.

After a hiatus, long term resident, Knight of TITO, a former Delegate and person influential in the drafting of the 10KI Consitution, Parthini has returned to run in Himes West against incumbent Estayland and challenger El De Austino. The last time Parthini ran, it was against the traitorous Naoi who won.

It should be noted that the nation of Naoi is dead, and the creator has a new nation named Schnizky who is a friend of the 10000 Islands.

The incumbents, Estayland and Crackenback, held onto their Senator seats by narrow margins.

In other news, www.frappr.com has come to the 10000 Islands. The site allows people to creat groups where each of the members states his or her location, enabling people to put a city or nation with a face/name.

The Ministry of Education is currently planning courses specific to NationStates and the 10000 Islands. History, defender/invader basics, and more are on the table. Hints dropped indicate small business courses will be an elective.

New Dracora is trying to start a 10000 Islands Grand Prix. He has Excel spreadsheets to formulate all the rules. Many of us are confused about the formulas, but all are interested.

Furthermore, New Dracora has joined the 3 Billion Club. In celebration, Sinn Finn Ireland and TheSensitiveNewAge are starting a new tradtion in Taco (regional money) giving for joyous events.

December 23, 11pm-11:30 eastern standard time the 10000 Islands will strive to make a regional record for most members online.

The forum record was not made, but some intra-regional sports competitions and live chats between Canada and the 10000 Islands could happen, but nothing until the Canadian elections have taken place.

The Embassy has resumed standard hours after the New Year celebrations.

Senate Elections are coming up again.

Senators Gluuland and Jesioneka (who handles much of the foriegn relations for the 10000 Islands) are both running for reelction. Regional Reserve Chairman Sinn Feins Ireland of the United Progressive Party (UUP) is running against Senator Jesioneka. Gluuland is also running on the UUP ticket. The UUP is the latest political party of the Islands.

Sinn Feins Ireland has unexpectedly dropped from the Senate race. No details for the reason for the drop.

Gluuland and Jesioneka have been relected as Senators. Furthermore, Gluuland has been made moderator of the two busist sections of the 10000 Islands Forum.

Breaking News: Delegate Fleeb, a nation so noteworthy in our region as to have his own holiday, is stepping down from the Delegacy. Real life workloads and a lack of time were cited as the reasons why. The election date has yet to be set and people are already considering to strive for the seat.
