Title: Suicide Squad........ attack!!!!!!

:hail: :hail:

I am not worthy! But say the word and I will be redeemed.

Nidecker - the new Boards Of Canada risen from the fire of civil strife. After an internal feud between rival factions within the Boards of Canada the land has been left ravaged. The civil war that raged between two major political factions despoiled the land and split traditional bonds of fellowship and family. On one side the plastics industry and on the other the smaller but more financially powerful cartels that controlled the country's supply of board wax.

At first it could only be described as a gang war that should have been kept to the streets. It started as the bright dawn which should have heralded a new future of transportation at speeds hitherto unknown.

The plastics industry had developed a brand new type of petex which would never require waxing. As a result snowboarders all over the country should have been looking foward to unparalleled response from their boards, and no problems with fading speed. The product never even made it to prototype boards. The Simmonds Wax Cartel (techically legal, but frowned upon by the commerce community) started the fight. 10 factories burned to the ground in a single night, 27th February 2002. Candle Soup Night (as the fateful day was named by the gutter press) was only the start of things. As the two sides took pot shots at each other, oil wells were sabotaged and the countries entire stock bee's was eradicated by a genetically produced bee flu. The gang war escalated to the extent that the forces marshalled on either side outnumbered the standing army. It was at that point the authorities officially recognised the problem. But by that point it was too late.......

Technology broke down as these irregular armies pushed all their resources into weapons that deteriorated in quality as the years wore on. Attrition begat attrition, and battle was replaced by the mere struggle to survive. Law and Order broke down entirely, social welfare dissappeared and in the end both sides had forgotten the cause of the hostilities.

All ties with the outside world became severed. The civilised nations declared Boards of Canada a renegage state, as it plummeted deeper into despair.

Nidecker now continues to rebuild and forge contacts anew with old allys. Its ruling feudal familly (the Hisbulla's) extends the hand of friendship to all who would grasp it without prejudice in light of its recent troubled history.

The future is still bright.

When will the world realize the folly of a wax based economy?

Ah, just back and already waxing lyrical about old times. Still, I suppose its a counterweight to the darn holidaymakers.

Weclome back to :Canada: Boardz.

Cheers HB, Demon, Almonaster - back in full effect.

Currently the nation is rebuilding its economy in the image of its former glory's but to prevent problems in the future research into waxless petex and alternatives has been banned. This means that the wax cartels are more powerful than ever. Its not perfect but it provides the economical stability required during this time of renaissance.

Waxing Lyrical indeed. Ah - its good to be back. :D
