Title: Election turn out

In the debate on the legality of delaying the elections DH noted:

Hopefully after this election there will be an amendment to prevent elections from being held at the end of the year ever again. What I would like to know is what is the Cabinet going to do to promote turn out in this election?
I personally have sent TGs to nations active in the region and made a promotional post in the regional message board. I will send out more TGs and make more posts when I can.
Knowing that things are slow this time of year I feel the cabinet should go above and beyond to make this election as active as possible. If the entire cabinet finds it's self busy then please put out a call for assistance from any active member who is going to be around.

Aside from what is already being done, for example posts on the CHQ board, Threads on the Forum, Personal Messenging or Telegramming Nations within the Region there isn't much more that can be done.
Advertisement will gain increased participation one would hope, but over advertisement can be counter productive as constant reminders generally irritate people.
Those who want to get involved will if there is plenty of warning and sufficient time to register or make whatever arrangements they need. Those who don't want to get involved, and those who can't be bothered fall into this category and will probably moan long after the event even though they had the chance to get involved.
It's the age old conundrum. :)

Is any one actually doing that? Is there a plan in place? Maybe this has all been worked out in the cabinet forum. That would be good to know.

I will do what I always do when I have the time, which is sending out a telegram to each and every member of the region. I will inform them of when and where to vote, and how and what they can run for.
(Note: I now do have the time, as my exams are over, and I have a 3 week break)

That would be very good. Do you need any help?

It's not necessary, I can handle it. Thanks anyways. :)

In response to the original question, one other step that we usually take (which hasn't happened yet) to highlight the message is to update the World Factbook Entry. Now that Checkers' exams are over, I'm sure that too will be done when she has a chance.

It's added...but I had to temporarily remove the regional webpage. It was too long otherwise.

I have telegrammed all the nations of Canada regarding the elections. I tried to avoid sending telegrams to nations that are here often enough to know about the elections, so that I don't unnecessarily take up space in their inbox...but I apologize if I sent it to you by accident anyways.
