With some trepidation as to where this will lead....

I declare my intention to stand as candidate for the aforementioned post.

Follow me comrades!

I would like to be the first to extend a hand of friendship towards this election race. May the best country win, for the best of Canada. If that should be you, the Republic of Malaiko looks forward to aiding you in any way possible.

Scratch that large post before. It's yours if you want it. Good luck...erm...fighting heathens....and stuff.

Boardz - since most defense personal that I've met seem to be tone deaf and lack a sense of humor; you would be a breath of fresh air in this ministry.

good luck boardz! :)

Thanks everyone for your support. B)

Devils Advocate, I would welcome the competition. If you wish to stand in the election then do so.

I think that the best way to involve yourself in the game is just to jump in. Its usually feet first, but hey, you got learn somehow. :D

I thought that your decision to run in this election was unusually brave, a quality that would suit the government position well.

After reading everything you guys have to say, all I know is that i am comPLETELY confused. LEgitimate invasions? How? How do I get my country to attack, say, Eastern Jewbania or something? None of it makes sense ot me, so apparently I really have no bloody clue what I'm talking about, never mind what you guys are talking about. I'll tell you what...if you want the competition, I will still run if others feel I should. However, I get the distinct impresion that most here feel I am not prepared for this job. I don't know enough about the game apparently. Hell, I don't even know how to figure out what I DON'T know.

An invasion is where nations move into a region and try to take over the delegate postion through endorsements (if they kick out a lot of the "natives" that is called griefing). None of this has to do with role play that is a subject all it's own. Go to the NS forums and check out the sticky posts on invasions to learn the details and the rules.

Hi DA, this is a good place to start

What's Legal and Whats Not

The basis of waging war as RP is much more involved and is something I am looking at involving myself in as soon as I work out what kind of an army I have.

There are good pointers around to how to do this too. There are some nations that put a lot of effort into this, and though it has no influence on the game, it does look like fun.

However, there is the very real danger of having a region crashed and taken over by an invader. The link above should show you the basics.

Hi DA, this is a good place to start

hey, ever notice that the short form of devil's advocate, is the same as the short for district attorney?

sorry....completely off topic

Off topic, but not altogether spurious.

There is some strange syncronicity about. Brings a whole new meaning to the phrase "I got the DA breathing down my neck!" :)

It's funny too, my RP roots came from an old school dWhite Wolf style roleplaying chat room. I was the Overlord of a massive clan, known as the Dark Army....also a DA. It's just kinda stuck with me ever since.

I'll have to read all this stuff tonight when I get back from classes. I look forward to figuring this stuff out.
