Hello, leaders and residents of Canada!

I am here today on behalf of my home region, Nasicournia, in hopes of opening a diplomatic dialogue between our two regions.

Nasicournia is one of NationStates' oldest regions, and includes several territories including our recruit region, Nasicournian Borderlands. We are a democratic region, believing in equality and freedom combined with national and regional sovereignty above all.

Our regional population is approximentally one third serious Role Players, one third Defenders, and one third peaceful and quiet nations with occasional OOC and IC participation on our civil headquarters and offsite forum. We are reknowned as "the most secure region in NationStates," and recruit very specifically for quality, not quantity.

The Nasicournian Intelligence Agency is effective and well-established, and we have our own regional RP army, the Nasicournian Security Council, and our own UN army, NasiCorps.

While we have diplomatic ties with regions all over the international community, we choose our alliances carefully. Our current allies are A New Begining, Texas, The North Pacific, Alcatraz, The Province, Galadil, Middle Earth, Equilism, New Aldaria, The Moonlit Islands, The Chemistry of 923, and The Ocean of Purity. Nasicournia is also a very proud member of the Alliance Defense Network, the largest alliance in NS, with 36+ other defender regions. Why are we defenders? Our region was once founderless, and defenders protected us during this tumultuous time. We now strive to return the favor to regions that are in situations much like we once were. We seek relationships with other democratic regions, defender regions, and role playing regions--we consider our "Golden Age" to have been a time when we regularly participated in cross-regional RPs with good friends and allies, and would some day like to return to this tradition!

We would like to begin establishing diplomatic ties with this region, in hopes of future friendly interaction in trade, RP, and perhaps further down the line more extensive interaction.

We hope that Canada will consider an Ambassador and perhaps further down the road an Embassy exchange, to explore what could become a beneficial friendship in times to come.

Nasicournia Update: [29-NOV-2004]

--Nasicournia contains 142 nations, with 24 in the Borderlands. NasiCorps troops are mostly deployed on missions at the moment, putting a dent in our population. We are not currently recruiting.

Government

--Current delegates: Nasicournia - SuperVegeta, Nasicournian Borderlands - Calypso Bridesmen.

--SuperVegeta has been doing a fine job as Nasicournia's newest elected UN Delegate.

--Nationa, previously a long-time official in the Nasicournian government, has just returned back to NationStates and Nasi!

Departments

--The Nasi Foreign Affairs Department has recently welcomed diplomats from The Ocean of Purity to our boards.

--We have opened embassies in many new regions, including The Stronghold, A New Beginning, City Ankh Morpork, and the new Cannabis Island.

--The formal alliance between Nasicournia and The Ocean of Purity is now official!

--The NIA currently has twelve active covert operatives.

--The NSC reports high security with the addition of SuperVegeta to look out for the safety of Nasi.

--NasiCorps is deployed defending throughout the NS world.

--Hrmmm and SWATH have recently been put in charge of re-organizing the regional army.

Role Play

--The peaceful "First Nasicornian Regional Expo!" continues to be Nasicournia's most popular RP.

--A visiting diplomat from Commonwealth of Solaris has also started another frequented RP callled "Mafia."

OOC

--"Ukraine fuzz," started by DeltaOne, is the hot OOC topic at the moment.

--True to the talkative nature of one sector of our population, "Guess Who Will Post Next," "Describe the person above you," "SMILIES!!!!," and "Karaoke!" threads continue to thrive.

--Nasicournia welcomes Chocolate Sweetness back to the game and our region!


UN

--Our new delegate is taking votes for the region on the new UN resolution and resolutions already in queue.

For those that don't know, I was the North Pacific's ambassador to Nasicournia for quite some time and was involved in the NP-Nasi alliance treaty. Nasicournia gets a big from me. I hope Canada will strongly consider closer contact with this fine region.

Hola Dalimbar, I've heard you've been trying to get ahold of me on IRC lately. PM me or something when you're going to be on--as you've probably notice, I leave it on all the time, whether I'm on/off/home or not. Oh, and you'll probably run into me a few more times, as well...I've been traveling the world recently! Grand fun, but exhausting.

I assume there are probably a lot of RL Canadians in this region? Nasicournia has quite a few residents from Canada in RL...although an Aussie/NZ rivalry has been dominating our discussions lately. :lol:

--Nasicournia contains 131 nations, with 24 in the Borderlands. NasiCorps troops are mostly deployed on missions at the moment, and the NIA is out on covert ops, putting a dent in our population. Due to the annual winter lag, we started recruiting again yesterday.

Government

--Current delegates: Nasicournia - SuperVegeta, Nasicournian Borderlands - Calypso Bridesmen.

--SuperVegeta is working on selecting his new cabinet. Discussions are ongoing right now, and when consensus is reached, they will be voted into office.

--Thesh, previously a long-time official in the Nasicournian government, has just returned back to NationStates and Nasi

--We have acquired a new mapmaker to lead our geographical recording department, Communistic Soviets.

Departments

--The Nasi Foreign Affairs Department has recently welcomed visitors from Canada to our boards, and created new Embassies for our friends from City Ankh Morpork, North Pacific, Mimas, and England. We welcome Ambassador Edge from City Ankh Morpork and Krataurian Lanara as the newest Amassador nations to arrive in Nasicournia, and have been having a greet time getting to know them.

--We have opened embassies in many new regions, including Gay, Dystopia, and Europa, and established diplomatic relations with Cananda.

--Nasicournia is happy to be in the finalization stages of a formal alliance with City Ankh Morpork!

--The NIA has accepted two new agents to our Department, bringing the active total to 14 Agents.

--The NSC reports high security with NasiCorps on the lookout and SuperVegeta in the delegate seat.

--NasiCorps is deployed defending throughout the NS world, and is currently training new troops.

--Hrmmm and SWATH are our current NasiCorps Commanders.


Role Play

--The peaceful "First Nasicornian Regional Expo!" continues to be an ongoing popular RP.

--Nucleo's RP, "Mafia," is gathering increased interest.

--SuperVegeta and New Cimmeria have both started new RPs.

--The Ambassador from Equilism, Zapzilla, has brought the "Fast Food" blame debate over to the Nasicournia boards.

--SWATH's "Name Warp Sites" thread is quite popular.

--In a startling uprising, one portion of the Nasicournian population demanded that the "Banana" emoticon be declared the official emoticon for Nasicournia. Thanks to some new emoticons Saterno found on The Nederlands board, it is now so. Beware, visitors! :lol:

--Sweetness has returned, which means of course that she has several interesting OOC topics currently thriving.

UN

--There is no current UN Resolution at vote and hence no debate going on currently.

--Nasicournia congratulates several new residents on their recently-acquired UN membership!
