Description: Be an ambassador to a foreign country!

Beaver-Country-Canada - October 22, 2004 12:34 AM (GMT)
Come one, come all!
Ambassadorial jobs are now available at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs! See foreign countries! Meet exciting new people! Try out life in a different country! These jobs are high paying, high fun jobs -- meet with whole countries and discuss whatever you want!

Your duties as an ambassador:

--> give an update on Canada once a week
--> keep an eye on unstable embassies in other countries
--> meet the people of the region
--> go sight-seeing!

Currently, we need ambassadors to Allied States of EuroIslanders and Nasicournia. If you have an interest in serving as an ambassador, leave a message in this thread.

Beaver-Country-Canada - October 22, 2004 05:55 PM (GMT)
Of course, FCW! Ambassadorial positions are kept until such time as you don't want them, or alliances break up.

Keep posting!

Okay, Thanks. :)

luckyluke - October 24, 2004 06:11 AM (GMT)
is that position for ambassador still open? i wouldn't mind giving it a shot.

Beaver-Country-Canada - October 24, 2004 05:48 PM (GMT)
Yes, the position of ambassador to Australia is open. I will PM the details to you in a little while!

We need a warm body to staff the new embassy in the West Pacific. I'll staff it until a permanent ambassador can be found.

Also, there will be a TWP embassy opening in the Diplomacy area, as soon as one of those wonderful persons with admin power gets here to create it. Feel free to check out their new digs once they are constructed.

MrPopo - October 27, 2004 07:18 PM (GMT)
Whats the status of our Western Europe embassy?

bweezy - October 27, 2004 07:18 PM (GMT)
Currently we have no ambassador, so I check in once a week and post an update.

bweezy - October 27, 2004 07:19 PM (GMT)
In addition, it appears that China is also empty (not that it matters, that region is pretty much dead - I think I'm the only one posting there on a regular basis)

MrPopo - October 27, 2004 07:33 PM (GMT)
not to be negative but I propose we make china also fit for the pit.

Provided you provide the template once aweek or so as you have I'd be willing to retake my position of WE ambassador. I just don't have time to do it and make my own. It'd be just a formality, really....

bweezy - October 27, 2004 07:36 PM (GMT)
I'm keeping China active for now - if BCC wants to shut it down when she comes back, that's her decision. Personally, I don't see the harm in keeping it open - it's free publicity for us, and takes me all of one minute per week to maintain.

Feel free to retake the WE embassy. I posted this week's report already, but you can post next week's once it is ready.

MrPopo - October 28, 2004 05:27 AM (GMT)
sounds spamtastic. what happened to the former ambassador? just disappear like the rest?

bweezy - October 28, 2004 05:54 AM (GMT)
I have no clue. I just noticed it was empty, and had been for awhile.

bweezy - November 5, 2004 05:12 PM (GMT)
I'd like to announce the following change in our ambassadorial roster:

teddyroosevelt is taking over as ambassador to 10000 Islands.
I'll now take over as TWP ambassador fulltime, in addition to my status as ambassador to England.

DrunkenHosers - January 8, 2005 03:46 AM (GMT)
I'm available for ambassadorial duty.

Beaver-Country-Canada - January 9, 2005 11:58 PM (GMT)
Mmkay, I'll send you a PM tomorrow. Any ideas of where you'd like to go? I'll get you a list of available spots ASAP...

There's lots.

*a little bird fly's in my window and says 'Canada has an ambassador shortage'*

I would like to apply for ambassadorial duty.

hudson bay - March 24, 2005 07:12 PM (GMT)
Far out - I think you'd make a great ambassador. BCC is real busy in RL at the moment. I'm sure once she has a second she'll jump on the chance to assign you to a post. Thanks much for offering to help out!

Parrrrtay - March 24, 2005 07:28 PM (GMT)
I have been trying to figure out where I could be of some help, and with reading through all the government threads I find this is the location lacking.....so HERE I AM! :Canada:

Freezing Cold Water - March 28, 2005 01:57 AM (GMT)
Can I help out still? ^_^

Beaver-Country-Canada - March 29, 2005 09:52 PM (GMT)
Of course you can! As soon as my internet is up and running, I'll give you a PM. Thanks, FCW!

Beaver-Country-Canada - March 31, 2005 05:16 PM (GMT)
I never even saw that one. I'll go do that now.

May I sign up to be a friendly Canadian ambassador? If there are any positions left I'd like to take a crack at it.

Regards

Magnate of The Albertan Empire - April 5, 2005 07:28 PM (GMT)
Hello?

Is there any positions still out there?

hudson bay - April 5, 2005 08:18 PM (GMT)
Try sending a PM to Beaver-Country-Canada. Last I knew she was real busy in RL.

algal states - April 17, 2005 07:04 PM (GMT)
I'm available for Ambassadorial duty.

Baribeau - June 13, 2005 11:43 PM (GMT)
I seen you've already fired me, but due to my lack of activity, I am hereby (officially) resigning my post as ambassador to TWP. I hope you guys can find someone who can actually do the job to replace me!

Good Luck!

Where Are The CBs - June 27, 2005 05:37 AM (GMT)
We are new to this region but are still willing to take on an abassitor postion if you are still in need of somebody.

Almonaster - June 27, 2005 07:16 AM (GMT)
Thanks for volunteering. As you are probably aware, we are just entering an election period, and the current MoFA is standing down. Once we have a new minister, they will doubtless be delighted to have you on board.

canada6 - June 28, 2005 02:30 AM (GMT)
Should it be necessary, count me in for duty as ambassador, just as soon as the white smoke clears and the new ministers settle in. I think it's an apropriate way for me to get my feet wet.

I speak Portuguese fluently should the language barrier be an issue for Brazilian, Portuguese regions, etc.

Daemon - June 28, 2005 02:35 AM (GMT)
And he also has good taste in movies.

Daemon - June 30, 2005 06:11 PM (GMT)
I can volunteer too. I have a couple of spare nations.

canada6 - July 1, 2005 01:29 AM (GMT)
I have been vocal in my willingness to be a Canadian ambassador to the region of Portugal. But It is my duty to inform the minister of foreign affairs that the task might be a bit more dificult than I expected. Portugal's off-site forum has an alarming number of Nazi supporters complete with swastikas and hitler based avatars... along with extreme left wing Communists.

Fortunately and probably due to the will of a few particular users (who happen to be Hitler fans  ) and also due to the fact that the forum is not extremely active... There is a very calm and respectfull aura within the forum. Ideas can be exchanged without insults flying everywhere. These fellas aren't your regular run of the mill fascists. These guys actually are very eloquent in their speech and have fairly high levels of education and literacy.

If this task is bestowed upon me I must ask that very carefull guidelines be set down for this particular situation by the new Foreign Affairs minister elect. To go along of course with the existing guidelines.

While we're at it...

A severe and bloody military conflict has been brought to my attention. The dispute is between the islamic nation of "Malgeria" and the region of "Parthia". Malgeria was given a sudden ultimatum out of the blue, by Parthia, consequently Malgeria declared an immediate Jihad on Parthia.

I am curious as to what our stance on similar situations have been in the past, if indeed similar situations have ocurred. At this moment we are of course neutral but is there anything we can do on a diplomatic level?

hudson bay - July 1, 2005 10:40 AM (GMT)
Here's the existing guidelines:
http://invisionfree.com/forums/NationState...?showtopic=3167

From what you have said it doesn't sound like they would qualify. Another region to investigate related to your language skills would be Brazil (or maybe South America is there is such a region).

btw - Our own dispute resolution system needs to be fleshed out so I don't think we are in a position to assist Parthia vs. Malgeria.

canada6 - July 1, 2005 01:58 PM (GMT)
It might be dificult to be ambassador over there but I'm not giving up that easily.

They seem to be organized, democratic and very polite despite their views. Of course before an embassy could be setup it would be necessary to go through all of the formalities and go through a check list of the conditions that are on the guidelines. The Brazilian region is a possibility as well.

I'm eager to serve and make myself usefull in any role so long as the majority sees fit.

That's mostly up to the MoFA. I'm sure they will start working with you as soon as the election is over.

hudson bay - July 1, 2005 08:24 PM (GMT)
Well this is a little embarrassing - not only is there a South American region, we already have an embassy with them.

However, no one has posted since Aug of 04.
