Title: Election timetable

bweezy - January 15, 2004 09:36 PM (GMT)
With the Constitution almost certain to be adopted, I'll be moving forward with elections shortly thereafter.

My question is how long should the campaigning process be? I was thinking of setting elections either for Jan 23-26 or the first weekend in February, but am flexible.

I'd like to hear everyone's views on this.

I think that a longer campaigning process would be better. I think the 23rd is too close. If we wait a little longer, I think we'd be able to get a bit more people here. A few nations that I tg'd have replied saying that they were currently busy, and would join in a few weeks. I'm also still in the process of convincing more people to join the off-site forum.
And maybe some daily posting for a few weeks on the region page, updating everyone on the elections, will get people curious enough to show up here and vote.

I think it'd be best to wait at least one more week (the 30th), but out of purely selfish motives, my ideal dates for the election would be feb 6-9, because I'm going to be out of town from the 29th to the 2nd. (I'm going to quebec city, woo!)
