Title: Crisis in South Pacific
bweezy - January 7, 2004 04:22 AM (GMT)
I have received word of a crisis in the South Pacific. Lady Rebels, the current delegate, is being challenged by someone named Savage, whose intentions for the region are questionable at best. Canada's help has been requested in this fight. Any UN Nations that are willing to relocate to the South Pacific are requested to go there forthwith and support Lady Rebels in a bid to repell Savage.
the Pacific currently has a dictator named Franco, and to have the South Pacific also possibly fall into a dictatorship would be a devestating turn of events.
Having said all this, I know relocating a UN nation is difficult, we all have a lot invested in Canada. For those of us who will not relocate, please make an effort to spread the word to other regions.
Thanks.

FYI: The Crisis in SP is now over.

FYI - we've received word that the crisis is not over. Savage Lands Reloaded left the SP with 601 endorsements. At update time, he jumped around to Europe, then jumped back to Free Pacific Army and consequently missed the update. As such his 601 SP endorsements remain. (Normally they are wiped clean at update time, but if you jump around nations correctly, you can miss being updated).
As such, feel free to spread the word to go to SP and endorse LadyRebels.

The Boarderlands of Boards of Canada is on it.
How long do I have to stay?
And can I still be in the forum while i am gone?
I have quite enjoyed chatting about the constitution and all, it would be a shame to miss out.

Consider yourself as being "on vacation", and feel free to continue contributing, as I know you'll be back when this situation blows over in a few days.
For instruction, just look at the regional board - they'll keep you informed. Have fun, and don't forget to send a post card!

I can now report that there has been a cessation of hostilities in the South Pacific.
Savage Lands Reloaded has been repelled and LadyRebel remains the UN Delegate in the region. Hurrah! B) At the same time his nation has been put on the banned list to prevent him returning while other SP UN delegates have chased him around to unendorse him before the update.
I caught the tail end of it but it appears that the guys there had a very late night defending their nation.
Boards of Canada has returned to Canada. Its good to be back from the front line. The Boards of Canada Snowboard Brigade Infantry held the high land in the mountains, but sadly saw little action.
The native nations were welcoming indeed, and hopefully we can continue the spirit of cooperation between our two nations.

Cool - sounds like you had some fun, and gave this region some good credibility by participating on this mission. Good job, Boardz.

Its all good B)
Notable mentions go out to Bistmath, Dick van Dyke, Robsfurt for their valour and general all round decentness.

I poked into the SP forum as a guest and noticed you had created a dialogue with the SP in the Canadian embassy thread I started months ago.
If you want to continue being a diplomatic liason with the SP, Boardz, I encourage you to do so. It may be a good way to keep cultivate a good relationship with a very powerful ally while we wait for a Foreign Affairs Minister to be elected. You may want to just let them know what were up to (which is usually nothing, but that's besides the point)

"which is usually nothing, but that's besides the point"
Just like RL politics - I love it.

Yeah - that sounds like a damn good idea. :D
I shall continue to act as diplomatic envoy to South Pacific.
Also, If after the elections the Foriegn Affairs office sees fit to assign another Nation I have no problem with either, as under the new constitution I would really have to be sanctioned.
Permenant or otherwise I will keep it up.

Outstanding. Thanks for your hard work on this, Boardz.
