Title: An Army of a Nation
Description: Advice Please

Jessicia - August 18, 2004 06:29 PM (GMT)
Greetings,

The Federation of Jessicia is seeking advice from other nations on a military matter.

There is an ancient religious group which have lived in our lands for longer than we know of. Even through colinization the original traditions of the native people have remained and even gained new followers from other races. Grown from the once small community of people very much, it is now a religious network of families and individuals- clans and tribes- which amounts to something around a million of individuals in total. You may know them from the Canadian Games.

Their traditions include an inclination to the goal of physical and spiritual perfection (although the line between those two things are possibly non-existant for them) as well as- and part of the reason for this messege to you all- a great love and concern of all Jessicians which equals the dedication to the protection of this land and its people. They will do what is necessary to protect Jessicia. They are also a battle-loving warrior people.

They have not shown the corruption with money as many have because of their dedication to the whole and not greed. Their dedication to religious tradition is astounding. Rarely does any of their people not agree with their teachings and leave them.

We have granted them land in our nation in recognition of their ancient land-claims, to govern as they please, but their population keeps growing at an alarming rate.

As a solution to this problem a representative from them has suggested a plan which we believe has potential. Not only do they want a new territory to colonize outside of our Federation but they would like to dedicate this land to the purpose of being a military defence force for Jessicia.

Obviously the potential for this is amazing. A whole other nation, full of warriors, constantly growing and dedicated to defending us. This is their land as much of ours and they would like the opportunity to take their beliefs to the fullest.

They would have an economy of their own (many of their people are also of various worker clans and such) and ofcourse we would contribute as well as keep our original military force standing.

Our Prime Minister Seth McCain has ordered me to request of the nations of the region to advise us on the pros and cons of such an idea (using a nationstates account to create it etc.) and how this could work. Yes we would have a huge army but rest assured that Jessicia rarely gets involved with military action unless it is in defense so you are all safe; we do not like to forecefully manipulating others for our goals.

Thank you.

The Federation of Jessicia, Minister of Defense Fatima Nasir.

P.S. Good luck to all in the Games! :Canada:

OOC: for one, I think Jessicia should get on the map first, then feel free to expand. Howevere there is a non-official policy to exclude nations from putting puppets on the map. You are welcome to put a nation on the map

and then expand that nation to include more land, as Octopolis did. But that land will have to remain named Jessicia (or whatever your nations name is on NS). However feel free to create from that map a more detailed version of your nations map, and declare the new territory a province.

The RP rules yet haven't been assembled and kinks were being worked out until the testthread died (BT got busy and I got busy with the olympics, not sure about anyone else). But I am going to reopen polls to determine a rules system, and explain the rules more indepth. But I'm pretty sure most of the nations in the region would agree that if an RP war broke out, puppets would have to be excluded from being allowed to go to war, hence we don't really allow them on the map (that, and they take up a lot of space on an ever filling map)

Official response from MrPopo:
"We will watch this situation carefully, and make sure it doesn't interfere with the goals of our allies. Until then, MrPopo has no problem with the expansion of Jessicia into uncharted territories."
