Title: TD's Freedom Force

bweezy - December 9, 2003 04:25 PM (GMT)
I know TD plans on making a formal topic on these boards with respect to his "freedom force". however, since I've just been contacted by two interested people, I thought I'd post TD's vision here for everyone's reference purposes, and to start the discussion:

---- Posted on NS Regional Forum for Canada by TD ---

"Willing to travel?

In the wake of recent events in Vancouver, Canada will form an agency of players dedicated to defending democracy. I'll create a new room in our forum that members of this new agency will be able to communicate in securely. If you're interested in joining, TG me your application. If I don't get back to you within 1 day, it's because I've recieved too many applications, and yours got bumped out of my TG box. Try re-sending it.

Applicants must:

1) Have at least 5 puppet nations in addition to their "main" nation.
2) Be willing to resign from and apply to the UN with any of their puppets and or main nations.
3) Be willing to travel.

"I cannot pay, clothe, or feed you. I promise you hunger, cold, despair and death. Come fight with me."

-Somebody famous said something like that

For further information, message TD or reply to this thread - I don't really know where TD is going with this, although I knowing him, I'm sure it's going to be a heck of an initiative.

I'm new at this type of gaming so, some elucidation would bwe appreciated here

Why at least 5 puppets?
You're only allowed 1 UN Nation os, having 6 (main & puppets) nations isnt going to give you extra votes.
Only thing I can think of is entering multiple puppets into region and if your UN nation get's ejected, you can switch membership to another nation still in region.

I'll probably have other Q's later but, this will start my education.

Sorry for the lateness of my reply - I didn't see your post until today.

The multiple nations is to create an element of surprise - you can have nations in several regions at once, and switch your UN designation in tandem with others to overthrow a hostile government.

When you have five non-UN nations floating around, it is harder for a hostile government to keep track of which nations are a threat, and which aren't.

You can also embed non-UN nations in hostile territory, build up the trust of a leader, and use that information against him or her. The multiple nations would be key to espionage.

That is the only rationel I can think of for multiple nations.

The DoW seems to have died over the holidays. Perhaps if we ever get elections off the ground, and have a Defence Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister to run the show, the concept can gel a bit better.

OK, that makes sense now. As I now have 5 puppets in various regions (and one in Role Play University) guess I'll go re-up for inclusion in DoW.
