Title: July 28 Cabinet Report
DrunkenHosers - July 28, 2004 03:21 PM (GMT)
As usual, if you have any questions or comments, please feel free to bring them up in the House of Commons. Or, if you prefer, approach me directly.
This report is complete up to 2:00 PM EDT, July 26, 2004.
Recruiting Drive
- Drunken Hosers recruited in the West Pacific.
- Beaver-Country-Canada noted that she had received recruiting messages from some other region, but couldn't remember which one.
- Checkers completed recruiting in the South Pacific.
- Ess asked if we were planning on doing the NP, EP and RR, and offered to take the NP.
- Checkers said yes, we were. So ESS took on the NP.
- Carbanousa took the Pacific.
- Checkers then covered the EP and RR.
- DH noted that the population quickly jumped up to 309 (it has since climbed much higher), and said he'd call that a success.
- Ess agreed.
Tempest
- BCC asked for the address for Tempests' forums. Carbanousa provided it.
- Carb stated that Tempest was an offshoot of the 10000 Islands.
- BCC noted that we are allied with the 10000 Islands, and stated "they're a good bunch".
- BCC reported that she had sent a telegram to MrNickles, and was about to start looking into their history.
- DH asked why BCC was recruiting an ambassador to Tempest, stating that he thought we were still researching whether or not to open relations with them.
- BCC said it was done, and that OF would be appointed as ambassador. She called a vote to confirm the appointment, and stated that she thought Checkers had approved it.
- DH noted that the Constitution gives the MoFA the authority to negotiate treaties, although approval by Cabinet is required for ambassadorial postings. But he said he was surprised, and thought that Checkers' request had been to perform a background check, not to establish an embassy. He further asked whether BCC had answers for Bweezy's questions.
- Carb suggested that, as an offshoot of the 10000 Islands, they are likely already allied with some powerful regions.
- BCC said that she did not have an answer for Bweezy's questions, but that she had checked out their region and forums, and thought they were OK.
- Checkers confirmed that she had not intended ties to be established yet, stating that she had some reservations about Tempest. Checkers reported that she had seen indications that a civil war might be going on in that region.
- DH noted that OF had already moved into Tempest, and was acting as ambassador. DH thought OF should be informed as to the situation. Either he should be recalled, or he should be asked to remain as an observer.
- Checkers thought he should remain there to monitor what's going on.
- BCC filled OF in, and asked him to look into the situation in Tempest.
- DH moved to strike the vote on an ambassadorial posting to Tempest, stating that the issue could be revisited in the future.
- BCC reported that OF had informed her that the delegate of Tempest, Mr_D00d, had been ejected from the UN. The delgacy had gone from Murdoch Hill to Hoodvania, in quick succession.
Website for Canada?
- Checkers reported that Darc Deimos, from the SP had offered to create an official website for the region, for free.
- BCC thought it sounded too good to be true.
- Checkers agreed, and asked if we needed a website, and if we would want to have one run by an outsider, in any case.
- BCC suggested we could manage it ourselves.
- DH thought we could create our own website, if we wanted one. He asked what we would put on a website, if we had one.
- Carb and Micon agreed that we'd be better off doing it for ourselves.
- Carb said he might work something up, as a test bed.

Just wanted to add a little note that I think DH is doing a great job as MRA and his reports are always fun to read - one of the things I look forward to reading every week.
Ess - July 28, 2004 03:49 PM (GMT)
DH sure is doing a great job! :)

BTW, there was a reference to BCC being recruited by another region via telegram. I received one of those from the Allied States of EuroIslanders.

Yeah, oddly enough, so did I :D
Blackshear - July 28, 2004 05:42 PM (GMT)
I've never received an ASE recruitment telegram. :(
I guess I disagreed with EuroSoviets, publicly, one too many times in the ADN forum. :D
BTW, I liked reading the Cabinet report. It brings you up-to-date on regional happenings in a concise and easily digestable manner.

EuroIslanders is the one I got too. They must have gone on a recruiting drive, just like us :P

Consider yourself lucky. It was a longwinded TG about nothing, really :P Quite funny to read, though!
