Title: Pokemon Emerald
Description: Err...
Toomlord - December 10, 2004 10:09 AM (GMT)
Anyone who has played Emerald Version will probably agree with me about this. Before you read the rest of this, check out the Emerald and the Crystal Animations on these links:

Some of the Emerald ones were pretty cool, but many looked as though they were done in about two seconds by some hungover bum on a 20 y.o Mac. Well... maybe not... but still, Nintendo could have put a little more effort into making them look better!
Poke Master #202 - December 10, 2004 07:46 PM (GMT)
WHAT!! all they do is zoom in and out..and with the GBA's capabilities they could made it so cool.......
Post some of the coolest animations tho, I'd llike to see the good 1s!
Toomlord - December 11, 2004 11:15 PM (GMT)
A good addition for Pearl/Diamond would be to animate the Pokemon throughout the whole battle. The DS has the capabilities of a N64, so maybe they might even re-release Stadium/Stadium 2 on it. Maybe even Pokemon Snap with a cartridge that doubles as a digital camera or something ^_^
I found a few of the better Emerald animations too... check out some of the Green version sprites while you are at it. Absolutely mind blowing.
Charizard
http://dynamic3.gamespy.com/~psypoke/dex/picdex.php?id=006 Duskull - Not really that great, but suitable for a ghost Pokemon
http://dynamic3.gamespy.com/~psypoke/dex/picdex.php?id=355Hariyama
http://dynamic3.gamespy.com/~psypoke/dex/picdex.php?id=297Wobbuffet - I rather enjoyed this little performance! :D Lives up to its role in Super Smash Bros Melee as a punching bag!

kyodongrougre - December 15, 2004 12:02 AM (GMT)
pretty cheap. im just gonna skip emerald for diamond and pearl for ds, obviously getting the better animations there. i mean, every pokemon with wings just has to [I]flap them
Poke Master #202 - December 15, 2004 06:20 PM (GMT)
Charizard's rocked!RRRRRROOOOOOOAAAAAARRRRR!!!!!!!!! but hariyama was alright too high-kickin'! Can't wait for the first DS pokemon games tho, they are gonna ROCK!!!!!!
Toomlord - December 17, 2004 10:31 AM (GMT)
It would be cool if Emerald included some unobtainable like Mew or Celebi like the Japanese version of Crystal, where you were meant to get a GS ball or something and put it in the forest shrine. I think there was a rumour that you could get Mew and Celebi on the Mystery Islands off the Emerald Hoenn, can anyone confirm this (I don't even know whether the are even any islands)
Poke Master #202 - December 17, 2004 09:04 PM (GMT)
not sure...I'm not getting emerald anyway- I love fire red!!!!!!!!!!!!
kyodongrougre - December 19, 2004 01:37 AM (GMT)
emerald destroyed the uniqueness of ruby/sapphire how team aqua and magma are out there for kyogre/groudon depending on the version. damn all of us r/s ppl will complain that emerald gets all 3 in one game
Poke Master #202 - December 22, 2004 07:15 PM (GMT)
they get all three????????????????????
HypeBeamer - December 22, 2004 08:18 PM (GMT)
All three? What? I count Groudon and Kyogre.... A pity they can't limit them like in Gold/Silver by making Ho-oh forget Sacred Fire and Lugia Aeroblast.
kyodongrougre - December 23, 2004 03:53 AM (GMT)
forgetting moves? just relearn them by move tutor...
or if im mistaken you only get groudon and kyogre...but then what would be the point of putting rayquaza on the box cover?
HypeBeamer - December 23, 2004 05:41 AM (GMT)
There is no Move Tutor in Gold/Silver. But I think that it would be a fair trade...
Reaper - December 23, 2004 07:54 AM (GMT)
HypeBeamer - December 24, 2004 04:24 PM (GMT)
Really? They have move tutors in there? I have no idea since I don't even own an N64...
Reaper - December 25, 2004 12:29 AM (GMT)
After u defeat the stadium's E4, u can re-teach ONE move to ONE pokemon in your party.

no you get all 3. There is one bit where you awaken Groudon and Kyogre, and they are Fighting in the ocean, then you get a call from Steven, to go to Sky Pillar where you awaken RayQuaza. it then cuts to a small animation where rayquaza stops Groudon and Kyogre and sends them back to the caves you origionally woke them from. then rayq flies back to Sky pillar, and then you can catch groudon and kyogre and when you have done them, Rayquaza is Accessable.
Toomlord - December 27, 2004 09:26 AM (GMT)
I always thought you had to choose one of them... but that would totally defeat the purpose of Emerald.
HypeBeamer - December 27, 2004 05:58 PM (GMT)
Well, it would make sense, I guess. Since Ruby has groudon and Sapphire has Kyogre, and both also have Rayquaza, any Pokemon fanatic would at least have Rayquaza and Groudon/Kyogre. Emerald has to have a whole mess of extra features to tempt people to buy it.
kyodongrougre - December 29, 2004 02:37 AM (GMT)
u know what would be cool
the pokemon on the box cover cannot be gotten
like sapphire you get groudon/rayquaza, ruby u get kyogre/rayquaza, and so forth
HypeBeamer - December 29, 2004 04:18 AM (GMT)
Haha. Strange idea. That's like me. I have a Blastoise, but every time I start up, I see that acursed Charizard.
kyodongrougre - December 30, 2004 07:51 AM (GMT)
same with venusaur...i dont even have it in my pokedex...i use charizard gary (i mean ash) uses blastoise. but i think you get to see the other 2 fully evolved starters no matter which one you pick, from trainers in victory road.
thats so cheap
i wonder if in emerald rayquaza has a special role, like suicune did in crystal. yay i have both
also
a few imitations with types
3 'eons' go together: vaporeon (water), jolteon (electric), flareon (fire)
3 dogs go together: suicune (water), raikou (electric), entei (fire)
3 birds go tegher: articuno (ice), zapdos (electric), moltres (fire)
so its not perfect with articuno, but at least they could add some variety in future games
HypeBeamer - December 31, 2004 01:26 AM (GMT)
Think of them as the weak legendary trio, like the Regis. By weak I mean they don't have super high stats.
Toomlord - December 31, 2004 09:23 AM (GMT)
I spose there are no types that really go together like water/ice, electric and fire. It's like the starters, their types ensure that one Pokemon does not have an advantage over the other two, with the exception of Zapdos and Articuno, in which case they would just flog Moltres with their electric/ice moves. I think the Regis were a welcome break from tradition, but still a bit strange. Their attacks are all the same with the exception of one or two moves that changed with the Pokemon. Still, their types ensure that one poke does not have an unfair type advantage. Wheh
HypeBeamer - December 31, 2004 05:43 PM (GMT)
Well...Regice gets beat up by STAB attacks of its two brethren. That isn't exactly balanced there.
Toomlord - January 5, 2005 10:42 AM (GMT)
Ehehe... yeah, I spose. But the actual types still seem to work
kyodongrougre - January 6, 2005 03:36 AM (GMT)
articuno beats zapdos
moltres beats articuno
zapdos beats both
rock owns them all :) zapdos maybe not as much
HypeBeamer - January 6, 2005 04:48 AM (GMT)
Articuno beats Moltres...how? Ice is normal and Flamethrower will kill with STAB, super effective, and high Sp. Atk. In one-on-one's, Zapdos would probably win.
Toomlord - January 7, 2005 10:33 AM (GMT)
Haha... yes, go the mighty Zapdos!
kyodongrougre - January 9, 2005 09:37 AM (GMT)
can u use legendary birds in the battle places for emerald?
Toomlord - January 12, 2005 11:31 AM (GMT)
umm... I think so! I'm not sure, but I think I could take the birds into LG battle tower. I presume that it is only the legendaries like Lati@s, Rayquaza, Mewtwo and so on that were banned
kyodongrougre - January 14, 2005 05:23 AM (GMT)
latios could, thank goodness
would be cool if new pokemon were added, one particular that powered hailstorms. and more special abilities to sandstorm/hail!
Toomlord - January 19, 2005 10:45 AM (GMT)
Tyranitar's ability is auto sandstorm
Articuno would be perfect for hailstorms... haha... yes! And Zapdos causes thunderstorms! And Moltres... FIRESTORMS...muahahahaha!
kyodongrougre - January 23, 2005 10:01 PM (GMT)
of course zapdos come with rain and moltres come with sun
but really
you have to wait until the next generation of pokemon
HypeBeamer - January 25, 2005 01:30 AM (GMT)
Zapdos comes with rain...because? Sure it'll benefit Thunder, but Zapdos is still Electric, not Water type.
Toomlord - January 25, 2005 07:28 AM (GMT)
I meant like the lightning bit, but doesn't rain increase electric move's accuracy anyway? And I'd love to see Moltres with an auto-firestorm ability, because Groudon already has Drought. My idea of a firestorm would be something like the attack Heat Wave, which is sorta like a red Sandstorm.
kyodongrougre - January 30, 2005 02:34 AM (GMT)
lightning storm for zapdos, hail for articuno
Slifer - February 25, 2005 03:02 AM (GMT)
fail or not about level  right if it in the same type so the high lv win
