Title: Starting pokemon types

Well, ive often thought about this, and think its a pretty good idea.
Wouldn't it be cool to have 3 different types to choose from for starting pokemon?
I mean, instead of having fire, water and grass, wouldnt it be cool to have like,
psychic, fighting, and dark?
or we could have electric, water and ground
or bug, flying, and psychic?
post any trio of types that you would like to see as starting pokemon types, and if you can think of it, the pokemon that could take that position.

Psychic, Fighting and Dark could make sense since it fits the type cycle that starters go by (Psychic beats Fighting, Fighting beats Dark, Dark beats Psychic) the other one you mentioned wouldnt fit. neither would Steel Ice and Rock. so i guess P F D would be best.

actually, a Flying, Rock, Bug would be nice if bug pokemons weren't so weak :angry:

Flying, Rock and Bug doesnt fit the cycle. the cycle is very important for the starting Pokemon...at least i think so. Fire, Grass and Water are nice, basic types. also, the Pokemon all have to have 3 stages, and the first forms must all similar stats.

only thing i don't like in that cycle is the fact that psychic and dark attacks are incredibly strong, so either they boost up every other pokemon, or they will just clean right through the game

ack...i just noticed something a bit unfair for the regular starters.
Water Weaknesses - Electric, Grass
Fire Weaknesses - Water, Rock, Ground
Grass Weaknesses - Fire, Ice, Poison, Flying
i guess picking the Water-type is best after all...

But water pokemon are not original anymore... i mean, like 1/3 of the pokemon in the game are water types, and ya forgot to mention there move capabilities and stats...

im not sure what exactly you mean by 'not original'. the fact that many Pokemon are Water-types is irrelevant. capabilities and stats vary from Pokemon to Pokemon, regardless of what type they are.
