I've played a few of thems, a great Action RPG.
Disaster Absol - January 1, 2004 03:02 PM (GMT)
Wow, finally... I LOOOVE ZELDA! I've played and finished ALL of the games, and so it deserves. I've never seen a game which grabs you so much as Zelda. Yes, Final Fantasy is great, yes, Beyond Good&Evil is great, but nothing can beat the amzing and realistic world of Zelda. Yes, if anyone hasn't played Zelda, do it, let's see how you like it.
kyogre 2000 - January 2, 2004 01:07 PM (GMT)
zelda is one of the best rpgs ever, but the last boss in ww was a bit of a dissapointment. i dont like pussy ass bosses who go down in like 3 seconds... <_<
LavenderAlana - January 2, 2004 08:41 PM (GMT)

bunnygirl - January 6, 2004 08:08 AM (GMT)
Zelda is actually considered more an Adventure game rather than an RPG.
kyogre 2000 - January 6, 2004 12:51 PM (GMT)
really?
diddnt know that...
no really i diddnt.
please dont kill me.
bunnygirl - January 6, 2004 11:54 PM (GMT)
a lot of people dont seem to know that...honestly im not really that familiar with the differences in game genres, but ill try to figure this out...
-Zelda doesnt have turn-based battles
-Zelda doesnt have a leveling up system
-Zelda is only played by one character
-Zelda doesnt have much customization when it comes to equipped items (the only real customization is accompanied by necessity...for example, you wear the blue outfit when you are going underwater)
yep...thats my theory.
LavenderAlana - January 10, 2004 11:32 PM (GMT)
Since when have those been the characteristics of a Role Playing Game? An RPG is when you play as a certain character or a team of characters and do... things. Most RPGs have those other things, though.
An adventure is usually just adventuring. I have an adventure game that has no fighting in it, and when you do fight, you can't choose what you do. Adventures SUCK!

Yeah....but in Zelda you play the role of Link as a game.

oh really? then you must think just about every game is an RPG. after all, if you control a character thats what it is, right? is Sonic the Hedgehog an RPG? um, no.
and i notice you didnt say anything about the other things i pointed out. the one in particular is the leveling up system.
kyogre 2000 - January 11, 2004 01:17 PM (GMT)
except zelda2 on the nes!

Erraro - January 11, 2004 01:17 PM (GMT)

no it didnt. im talking about number-based leveling up, like on Golden Sun. not getting new items.
kyogre 2000 - January 24, 2004 12:58 PM (GMT)
on zelda 2 for nes, you got experience points, spells and items actually.
rayquaza_gurl - February 13, 2004 12:04 PM (GMT)
I love the Wind Waker..it's not really that hard, though. They should make a dungeon for you to get Nayru's Pearl instead of Jabun just giving it to you..
I read that on your secondary game(after you beat it) you can understand the ancient language.
kyogre 2000 - February 14, 2004 01:56 PM (GMT)
u can.
they all think that link is th hero of time.
sonicboommario - February 14, 2004 03:24 PM (GMT)
a little info:
In every zelda game there is a different Link to play as. WW link is one hundred years after OoT link, for example.
Disaster Absol - February 15, 2004 04:35 PM (GMT)
He was made as the same link. OoT and Majoras Mask follow exactly.

Ok. Zelda may not have a leveling up feature. But I emailed Nintendo about this and they said it is officially an RPG. Also RPG stands for ROLE PLAYING GAME And as someone else said you DO play the role of Link in the game.

*gives a high pitched screech* Zelda! XD The Legend of Zelda is THE BEST series of video games ever. And Ocarina of Time, has to be my favorite. ^^
bunnygirl - April 17, 2004 10:02 PM (GMT)
hey...isnt Nabooru that Gerudos name? awesome..

Oo! Oo! Mine too! My second favorite is tWW and my third is MM.
In the MM manga, Oni Link kills the happy mask man!

I thought it was one of the spirits... You know, creating the world and all? Well, can be my mistake.
rayquaza_gurl - April 28, 2004 10:54 AM (GMT)
Poor happy mask man. o-o And DA, Nayru is who you're thinkin about.
Anyways, my fav zelda game is the wind waker currently. I love the cutscene where Valoo burns ganons fortress down, and the one where the tower of the gods rises and you fall into it and stuff XD
My second has to be ocarina of time. *hugs epona*
Third...hm..there aren't really any other Zelda games that appealed to me that much. I had a lot of trouble with Majora's Mask..maybe Oracle of Ages.

...The part when you kill stuff?
Oo! Oo! I read the tWW FF once, and it was sooooo random!
Actually, it was the sequel to a OOT/MM one. Teehee... Link was only doing all that stuff to get.... SKITTLES!!!!

i still think Zelda is an Adventure game. Adventure and RPGs can be similar and thats probably why both are my favorites. ive always found RPGs to be more slow-paced, with more emphasis on the actual story. Nintendo can say whatever they want; all i know is, when i play i feel like im playing an Adventure game.
pointing out that you "role play" as Link means absolutely nothing. when you play a 007 game, you are playing as James Bond. does that make those games RPGs? hell no. in Metroid Prime, you play as Samus. again, this does not make the game an RPG. these are both First-Person shooter games. what about Mario Sunshine? you play as Mario, correct? the game is a Platformer, not an RPG. the list goes on and on and on. bottom line - using the literal definition of "role play" as a reason is sheer foolishness.

btw, i was right...Nabooru is a Gerudo. its been so long since ive played OoT, i havent even been playing it in the Collectors Disc, but im pretty sure shes a Sage or something.
rayquaza_gurl - April 30, 2004 11:51 AM (GMT)
Yes, I think she is a sage, she is the female leader of the Gerudos and she didn't like Ganondorf.
LavenderAlana - April 30, 2004 11:52 AM (GMT)
Nabooru is the sage of the Spirit Temple.
The goddesses are Din, Nayru and Farore.
rayquaza_gurl - April 30, 2004 12:00 PM (GMT)
Yes, that's why DA got mixed up..Nayru and Nabooru.. Din looks so cute in the little statue in tWW! She and Nayru are my favorite godesses. :D
