Title: Increase in avatar size
Description: possible?

Hey guys, while I realise that JCFO has limited server space, would it be possible to enable avatars bigger at least 100x100, if the avatar itself was hosted on our own servers, and we direct-linked it? Any avatars hosted on the forums itself could remain at 64x64. Ta!

Ok, this doesn't have to do with avatar size, but I have a question about the URL character size limit. I'm horribly illiterate when it comes to things of technology (so feel free to correct me), but why are URL's of over, say 60 characters cut off? Does it have to do with server space? I'm just wondering because I've got some avatars I'd like to use but their URL's are too long and are cut off when I paste them in. I'm not saying anything needs to be changed, I'm just wondering.

Why don't you try downloading the avatar to your computer first and then use the "Browse" function to upload it to the forum. That way you don't have to deal with URLs.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think the limit placed on avatar dimensions has anything to do with server space ^_^

Thanks for helping out, nana! :flower:
Amanda - I'm going to wait on Scott's response to your question. Whilst I don't see a problem with changing it, at the moment I don't really see much of a need either?
That is of course just my opinion, so if other forum members feel strongly about having bigger avatars, I'll take up the matter with Scott. However, I would like to hear about what advantages 100x100 avatars would have over 64x64?

Avatars have been changed to 100x100.
