Title: Got a photo of yourself?
Description: Post it here!
Scottie_theNerd - November 23, 2003 11:52 AM (GMT)
Well, since Lily's doing the Christmas card thing, I figured I should do something remotely innovative. So, instead of sending Christmas cards, let's post our own photos here!
Of course, you're welcome to post anything as long as it isn't too extreme. Feel free to write a little background story to your photos as well.
To start, I'll post an ugly picture of myself.
This is a picture of me eating a Cheeseburger at a McDonald's in Akihabara, Tokyo, Japan. I was carrying quite a lot of stuff, and since there were no seats on the bottom floor, I had to use the second floor and lug everything. A few girls who were with me asked if I wanted to take a photo of myself, and since I was in the mood I let them use my camera. Not in the best of shape, the only real distinctive thing about me in that photo is my watch. I don't wear it anymore unless my other watch is out of action. Still, I've found that girls like my watch better than they like me. :(
The rubbish bins in Japan are quite efficient too. In most countries, you have the big rectangular box where you're supposed to put everything. In Japan, you have a large box with several openings. There's one for your straw, drink/ice, paper and remaining food. I had to watch people a few times before I could work out what hole contained what. Pretty nifty experience.
Pity meals cost twice as much over there.

i'll try to post mine this week.....

You travelled all the way to Japan and ate McDonald's!! Next time you should at least try a Japanese burger chain like Mos Burger (yum) or First Kitchen.
Scottie_theNerd - November 24, 2003 06:52 AM (GMT)
I had MosBurger the previous day. Wanted to try some good ol' Maccas...

It looks like there was some really cool architecture in the background. I had my little brother take some of me yesterday, I'll post one when I get them developed. Knowing me, that could be a few years from now.

I normaly don't laugh like that at pics, but they made me laugh, because another friend, who took the pic, was laughing about me, cuz I almost fell
Taateli - November 26, 2003 07:28 PM (GMT)
Here´s me, and my 3 friends at a cinema :)
From left: Hanna, me, Ansku and Sofi.
Scottie_theNerd - November 27, 2003 01:10 AM (GMT)
Another one from Japan. I'm the one in the middle, obviously. Can't remember who the other two were, but I spent more time chatting to them than actually doing the activities we were meant to do.
What? <_<
Hanneke - November 27, 2003 06:18 PM (GMT)

*Esther* - December 6, 2003 12:40 AM (GMT)
hehe, ok, a bit later but here's mi pic.... This one was taken last 27th november at my school own Olimpic Games, hehe... that was the parade with all the classes. Those girls are all my classmates. And yes, we have to wear a uniform. I like the skirt and pullover, but I hate that track suit... it fits so bad!!!
btw, i'm the one who's right under the sky-blue flag, just on the right side of that blonde girl.
roisin - December 7, 2003 09:50 PM (GMT)
u think ur uniform is bad. mine a horrible blue! yuck
Scottie_theNerd - December 8, 2003 02:12 AM (GMT)
Mine's actually quite good:
nana - December 8, 2003 06:34 PM (GMT)
Sigh... always wanted to have a school uniform. They seem so hassle-free and even if they're bad at least everyone would look bad :P
Scottie_theNerd - December 9, 2003 06:58 AM (GMT)
That was the best uniform mentality I've seen o.0

*agreed*
Hanneke - December 11, 2003 02:20 PM (GMT)
I would hate a uniform, I love beautiful clothes! Aw, a skirt would be terrible (especially a pleated one).
katrelle - December 12, 2003 04:50 AM (GMT)
i quite like having a uniform!..i have semi-pleated skirt...and its pretty cool!..i liking putting the whole uniform together with the blazer and the tie!!..when you have the casual clothes days at school you can see how mean people are to those ppl who don't have very nice clothes, or a badddd...dress sense!..i guess things are kept more simple with a uniform...
Scottie_theNerd - December 12, 2003 04:56 AM (GMT)
I always wear school uniform at school, even on casual days. Mostly because no one actually cares if I come in casual or not, but also because I can carry more stationery in my blazer pockets ^.^
katrelle - December 12, 2003 04:59 AM (GMT)
are you one of those guys that puts thier graphics calculators in their pockets...coz i know a guys that does thats..he's afraid that someone might steal it otherwise!
katrelle - December 12, 2003 05:08 AM (GMT)
i didnt like the other foto of me..hopefully this one is better..this is me and a friend at me yr 11 formal in st. yarra!

Haha! I agree! I used to have to wear a uniform with a blazer & the pockets always seemed endless coz I'd carry practically everything but the kitchen sink in there, though most of my stationery I kept in a pencil case (or **a-hem** three!).
But now where I go to sixth form, I have to wear 'business wear' which I think is really good, because you have the uniformarity (uh, don't think that's a word) of a uniform, yet you can add a little of your own individual style to it. :)
'Fraid I don't have a picture to post - not sure if I'd post one anyway, it'd have to be a good one... :P

Liz that's a great pic! you reminded me of Drew Barrymore there ;)
Katrelle I tried to post a comment about your pic before but I kept getting an error message so I gave up.. andyway I think you looked gorgeous in the pic. You look good in a dress.. I'm so jealous.. when I went to my school ball last year.. I looked like a girl wearing her mom's dress while playing dress up :(..
Liz - December 13, 2003 06:45 AM (GMT)
Ooohh....thank you *blush* lol
Well we didn't have it on Sth Yarra thats for sure...LOL
I was hoping for the Grand Ballroom at the Hyatt but no...we had it at some gay reception center near school *rolls eyes* As sterotypical as this sounds, and I feel bad saying it....for a private school I think they could have had it somewhere a little better. lol
pImMy - December 13, 2003 06:52 AM (GMT)
My school ball wasn't so great but my ex's one was soooo good.. The ticket costed like $NZ 100 per pair but I think it was worth it(not that I paid for it or anything). The food was really good and instead of having it somewhere else.. there rented.. I don't know what it's called.. a big big tent like what they have at a circus and put it on a school ground. It sounded funny but it turned out very cool. Also they have a life jazz band playing half the night and this guy from that school who's also a dj at a local radio station played music for the rest of the night. It was a great night... good memories.. *sniff sniff*
