Okay not much to say really... This is my first real attempt at writing a fan fic, so don't laugh *too* loud! :lol:

I'm writing this for Liz (who has been so supportive of the fan fic idea) and also Kat (who we all know from Ferrero Chaser).

Part 01: Break…

You say I take your breathe away

A sad looking girl standing by the newsstand caught the eye of the man in charge of the stall. For the last week or so, the girl had come by each morning to scan the sports section of every newspaper for something of interest. She was always very polite to the man and often walked away with four or five various newspapers in hand. Though it wasn’t really his place to ask, the man felt compelled to reach out to her.
“Something wrong love?” he asked gently. The girl raised her despondent head and gave him a weak smile as her naturally dark brown hair turned copper in the sunlight.
“Everything’s fine,” she said, closing the paper which she had been reading and handed it over to him along with four others. The man took them from her and began to punch up the total on the cash register. While the receipt was printing, he took a casual glance at the front page of the local tabloid paper.
“Those posh superstars all think they’re god’s gift to women!” he spat. “I mean lord, why are they always complaining about the press when they’re the ones who parade it out there?” The girl remained silent. “”Time of his Life,”” the man quoted bitterly from the headline. “Honestly, what was he thinking?” Still, the girl failed to respond. The man handed her the papers, the receipt and her change; all of which she accepted dutifully and without a word.
“Are you sure you’re alright love?” he asked again. Usually she was a little more approachable than this.
“I’m fine sir,” the girl said quietly, folding the newspapers slowly and tucking them firmly under her left arm. “Thank you for your concern.”

All the right promises to break…

Liz walked slowly away from the newsstand. She felt as if the news had stripped her of her senses and walking in a straight line suddenly became impossible. Steading herself by a weather beaten park bench, Liz involuntarily let one of the papers slip from her grasp. It landed with a soft thud and the warm summer breeze turned the paper to the very same page that she had been reading earlier. Standing there in a pale pink, Dior tank top and white cropped khakis, she fitted in perfectly with those who resided in the upscale, cosmopolitan neighbourhood. Nevertheless, she had never felt so sorely out of place.

He had promised her so much before she had come. A new world, new friends and a stellar career. She had so naively believed in all that he had pledged. She stood there, rapt in thought and upon reflection, cursed herself for not questioning his true intentions from the very beginning. Liz took a seat on the bench and removed from her feet the painful pair of thin strapped, white stilettos. She marvelled at the intricate stitching and fine, soft leather before dropping them into the forest-green garbage bin situated beside the bench. The shoes reflected the torment that he had put her through; pleasant on the outside and yet so excruciating on the inside. No one would ever know her suffering; not even Richard himself. It was up to her to project the illusion that everything was fine. It was her function to support him. And yet, after all that she had done for him, how could he so unashamedly betray her trust?

it really is looking great... Maybe I'll write a fanfic myself.. Who knows? My Portuguese teacher says Im a pretty good writer, but I never wrote a fanfic before, Im more into poems, u know... Hmm, guess I will try though, getting pumped up with the idea! ;)

It was about that they had all of these things together, and there were a lot of USopen visitors who said they'd came especially for them and stuff.. and a story about the Bryan's is always cute (except when it's a diss of course)

Liz and I were discussing this a while back, and we thought that since we've got fan reports on the website, why not add fan fics too?

...so basically, once a fan fic is complete, I'll get the author to send me a copy of the fic in its entirety and I'll add it to the site with full credit to the author (ofcourse!). :)

Well Kat and I were talking about it last night and she has created a little peice of paradise for tennis fic, and everyone will be able to upload their stories themselves. She started working on it last night, so if Kat decides to keep up with the idea it should be finished soon :)
