Title: Ward-22's Hot & Cold - After Pocono

Ward-22 - July 29, 2003 04:51 PM (GMT)
I will post this up in this message board as well... I average the last 4 races that every driver has raced, and whoever has the smallest average is #1 that week. They have to race the 4 recent races to be eligible. There are 20 that make it.

Here is week 1.

Here are these weeks’ Hot & Cold results after Pocono…

Biggest Jump Up = +10 #88 Dale Jarrett

Biggest Fall Down = -11 #24 Jeff Gordon

1. (8) #99 Jeff Burton---AVG. 5.75
I would only like to see one other person here, and that would be Ward! The #99 team is on fire with finishes of 2nd, 6th, 9th, and 6th!!

2. (2) #12 Ryan Newman---AVG. 7
Ryan managed to pick up another win, but still stays in the 2nd position.

3. (3) #17 Matt Kenseth---AVG. 8.5
This is the 3rd week in a row that Matt has been 3rd in my Hot & Cold. I wonder if he plans on staying here the rest of the year.

4. (4) #48 Jimmie Johnson---AVG. 9.25
The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th positions are all the same this week. Everyone must have finished where they normally do.

5. (1) #29 Kevin Harvick---AVG. 10
Kevin is no longer the leader, but he is still 5th. Harvick has improved much from last year!

6. (14) #5 Terry Labonte---AVG. 11
My prediction is right, and he almost even made the top 5. I look for Terry to maybe be a championship contender once again next season. :) B)

7. (9) #15 Michael Waltrip---AVG. 12
Mikey gained 2 spots this week after losing 7. Waltrip and Jr. always seem to do well on the same race-day.

8. (11) #8 Dale Earnhardt Jr. ---AVG. 13.5
Junior did make it back to the top 10. Good race at Pocono by the #8 Budweiser Chevy. If he can do that the rest of the year, we might have a new leader.

9. (16) #16 Greg Biffle---AVG. 14.5
Biffle really moved up this week…maybe the #16 is finally coming around after that win.

10. (5) #21 Ricky Rudd---AVG. 16.75
Rudd didn’t have such a good 700th career start finishing 39th. At least the car looked good!! :) :P

11. (NR) #88 Dale Jarrett---AVG. 17
This is the highest I have seen an NR, non-rated, driver shoot up the ladder! Dale finished 21st at Pocono too!

12. (7) #31 Robby Gordon---AVG. 17.5
Robby Gordon falls out of the top 10, but I predict he jumps back up there after Indy.

13. (20) #7 Jimmy Spencer---AVG. 18
Jimmy jumped the ladder as well, that team is getting better.

14. (NR) #154 Todd Bodine---AVG. 18.25
If Todd Bodine doesn’t wreck his car or someone else, and damage his car, he usually has a good day.

15. (18) #38 Elliott Sadler---AVG. 18.5
Sadler started well in the race (3rd) and ended up 14th. Not too bad for the #38 M&M’s Ford.

16. (11) #9 Bill Elliott---AVG. 18.75
Elliott fell back this week but finished 17th. I predict he falls way down next week.

17. (6) #24 Jeff Gordon---AVG. 19.5
Never thought I would see Jeff so low. 3 competitors who should be higher are low this week.

18. (9) #20 Tony Stewart---AVG. 20.5
Never thought I would see Tony so low. Tony’s engine problems didn’t help anything, and he moves back 9 spots this week.

19. (14) #18 Bobby Labonte---AVG. 21.25
Never thought I would see Bobby so low. Bobby Labonte, the other Gibbs driver also had problems and had a horrible day.

20. (19) #2 Rusty Wallace---AVG. 22
Rusty’s average is 22, and there are 22 drivers who made it this week, because Dave Blaney and Kurt Busch have tied with Rusty.

20. (NR) #77 Dave Blaney---AVG. 22
Blaney needed a good top 10 finish, and he got one.

20. (NR) #97 Kurt Busch---AVG. 22
Kurt finished 2nd and still barely made it. I predict he moves up next week.

I hope Dale Jr. can be the points leader before the years done. But all Kenseth needs to do is finish 14th or higher in every race and he has it, so it's going to be tough.
