Description: Pull up a chair & tell me aaall about it

silverdinosaurs - November 11, 2003 03:45 PM (GMT)
Yes yes
So, what shows have you been to lately, or are planning to go to?

I shall lead by example, because otherwise this post would be quite little.
Recent: Hmm, I haven't seen any bands (other than mcs on Sunday) for about a month.. I guess that will have to do.
The last gig I was at was Thrice (who owned) with The Holiday Plan (who didn't)
Upcoming: Mars Volta on the 19th
Early in December (not sure of the dates) - Bouncing Souls & Strike Anywhere

KniTingGrl - November 12, 2003 01:26 AM (GMT)
ah, lets see.
recently the last two shows i have been to are alkaline trio and a couple of other bands and a week before that i saw bouncing souls and tsunami bomb
the shows were fantastic but the bouncing souls crowd was not.
im thinking of seeing brand new preform soon but i usally just show up
unplanned at shows
i love the mars volta by the way
i think i saw strike anywere... didn't like them.

silverdinosaurs - November 12, 2003 03:18 PM (GMT)
Oh go see brand new
I am sooo encouraging that
Who's supporting, they're coming here in January with Straylight Run (WOOOOO) and Moneen, I have my tickets locked in a secure place (incase the guy next door steals them.. not likely, his musical taste is terrible)

nay - November 12, 2003 04:35 PM (GMT)
every show i've ever been to has had mcs play.

wait, i went to creed. :stupid: ha ha ha. and faith and tim. heh heh B)

KniTingGrl - November 12, 2003 08:31 PM (GMT)
i also saw moneen and they were terrible but they make cool stickers>
hey , you cant beat 6 for 2$
naynay how many times have you seen mcs play i have only seen them 3 times
i NEED to see them again!
i left tickets for some show a long time ago with my friend and she lost them....
crycrycry

nay - November 14, 2003 04:15 PM (GMT)
ummmm 5 times i think. chicago if i get to go will be 6. if i find someone to go to the detroit show with me it will be 7. :)

silverdinosaurs - November 14, 2003 08:21 PM (GMT)
I have seen them once

(8)I wantobe in am-er-ee-ca(8)
Well not really, I had the chance to see them last June but due to prior committments was unable to
(I was at bball camp. Boo.)

Now I'm all antsy for them to come back again and they haven't even left England yet! It was that good a show

I think it was my favourite show I've ever been to
Thursday / Coheed = second

KniTingGrl - November 14, 2003 11:48 PM (GMT)
there is something special about mcs. i dont know why, but every time i see them they get better and better. i have no shows to go to this week... story of the year is playing tonight, but i didnt feel like going.

weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee the wind is whistling
its soooo windy out i hope my garbage can doesnt get knocked over AGAIN
the leaves look like they are flying and all the birds can't fly straight.
i saw 3 pidgeons fly into a building today it was saddddddd

broken epi - November 16, 2003 04:32 AM (GMT)
i have been to some odd concerts. the first one was jars of clay, and then i went to go see the Monkees reunion tour. yeah, talk about a festival of old people. and then i went to only local shows for a really long time. and then i decided to go to a mcs show. yep.

KniTingGrl - November 17, 2003 03:26 AM (GMT)
i'll never be a private eye. i am stupid. my little entourage of marmots are cheering me on. "go!" they say. um,yeah....
so anyway, i got hit in the eye AGAIN by a rampant mosher, at a local show.
the same eye as the ' el hitt by a crazy crossdressers orange boob" incident.
i hate spelling. its for LOSERS , LOSERS I SAY!!!!!
good dayyyya...

broken epi - November 18, 2003 02:51 AM (GMT)
cross dressers? orange boob? wow, what kind of shows do you go to?

KniTingGrl - November 18, 2003 09:37 PM (GMT)
now, i could have SWORN i have told that story before, perhaps i am wrong.
it was halloween, so the bands dressed up, the first one dressed up as women.
they had oranges shoved into thier slinky tank tops and threw them into the audience.
woaaaah it hit meh in the eye and i screammmed.
yep.
ohhhhhhh yep.
goo-oo-ooolden reetriever!

broken epi - November 19, 2003 01:25 AM (GMT)
hey, my band played a show. and our lead guitarist dressed up as a woman. that was funny because he's really skinny and his legs looked funny coming out of a polka dot dress.

KniTingGrl - November 19, 2003 08:38 PM (GMT)
this guy had a black tank top on and a short, short patent leather mini skirt on.
ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww ick.
sugar cane soda is too good to be true.

broken epi - November 19, 2003 09:48 PM (GMT)
sugar cane soda? that is crazy i must find some.

KniTingGrl - November 20, 2003 10:26 PM (GMT)
uhhh.. i think the company is called 'boylans' or something to that effect.
they are in old fashioned bottles.
voodoo glow skulls..................

broken epi - November 26, 2003 02:54 AM (GMT)
boylan's??? i've never heard of this. hmmm, only 5 more days until my birthday, and only 9 more days until mcs. this makes me extra happy. and oh, i believe i have now reached 500 posts and i am a "sunday warning" or something like that.

KniTingGrl - November 26, 2003 08:32 PM (GMT)
and only 5 more days until i make brokenepi a giant happy birthday topic.
HAPPAY B-DAY@!
boylans.... i don't know. it's soda.
i picked it up at some downtown market...they have cream soda too!!!
what is sunday warning?

broken epi - November 26, 2003 09:35 PM (GMT)
i really have no idea what Sunday*Warning is. i think i have missed something. but its not from me, its from the boards. maybe the boards are crazy.

KniTingGrl - November 27, 2003 03:04 AM (GMT)
MAYBE: it's one of the older songs by mcs. do you know what i bought last night online?
i bought a 7'' LP of mcs with two songs i have never even heard of...
promenade and carolina?
i can't wait to listen to it!
*exited* weeee

broken epi - November 27, 2003 09:01 PM (GMT)
dude, sweet. the next mcs show that i go to i plan on getting the split ep between schatzi and mcs. i don't have it, and i want it. :P

KniTingGrl - November 29, 2003 04:18 PM (GMT)
ohh i got that one at the warped tour.
i'm not really into the other band on it though.

HAHAHAH I FORGOT HOW GOOD MARSHMALLOWS ARE!!!
YUM

broken epi - November 29, 2003 08:36 PM (GMT)
yeah, i bought a split ep between Brand New and Safety In Numbers a long time ago and brand new was good then, but Safety In Numbers kind of annoyed me.

nay - December 1, 2003 04:43 AM (GMT)
QUOTE (KniTingGrl @ Nov 26 2003, 11:04 PM)
MAYBE: it's one of the older songs by mcs.

yes yes yes you are correct

its from before i dunno, some people were in the band. i read it like a year ago on the guestbook or something. i downloaded it, too, only i have no idea wat happened to it. *ANGRY*

KniTingGrl - December 1, 2003 08:17 PM (GMT)
I AM CORRECT?
it can't be.

it is probably from that overpriced 1998 record that that dickface record store employee won't sell me.

i also heard mcs recorded a song last year, 'my valueable hunting knife'?

and i have never heard the songs:
the here away
2000 paper cranes
opening night

silverdinosaurs - December 2, 2003 09:00 PM (GMT)
My valuable hunting knife is a guided by voices song

I have a copy of the mcs song of the same name; however, I haven't listened to it yet (it's on vinyl and I don't have a record player here) so I can only assuuume it's a cover of the guided by voices one.

Unless mcs are being jokesters and confusing everybody by naming it the same
Oh what hilarity would ensue

Please forgive my grumpiness, for some reason I am very crabbit todayay

broken epi - December 3, 2003 03:45 AM (GMT)
i've heard that 2000 papercranes (or is it 1000), is a very good song. i want to hear it. i am going to end up spending all my birthday money at the show on friday. muhahahahaha, i have my tickets.

nay - December 3, 2003 04:04 AM (GMT)
its 1000 ;)

its on the first cd i have, its alright i guess. a lot of people really like it. tis not really one of my faves. they usually play it at their shows, well the ones i've been to at least.

KniTingGrl - December 3, 2003 06:55 PM (GMT)
i have a guided by voices calender on my wall. i am looking at it right now.

i just bought that mcs seven inch with promenade and carolina, but i don't think it will be as kick-ass because it was recorded before jesse was in the band.

my valueable hunting knife? i remember justin posting something about them recording it last year. i don't remember what he said about it, and i am to lazy to find it in the archives.

1000, not 2000.
silly me.

OTHER BANDS SHOWS: I am going to a senses fail and the used show.
i am not really into either bands, but my friend really wants me to go, and is dragging me, guilt trips, bla bla BLA.

nay - December 3, 2003 08:59 PM (GMT)
ooh, yes. shows. i'm probablyee going to MAE. in jan/feb. theyre playing in toledoish my friend said 1/31 and theyre playing in detroit 2/3. YAY. YAY YAY YAY.

with COPELAND. they are amazingly amazing. but not as good as MAE. *swoon*

broken epi - December 3, 2003 09:27 PM (GMT)
yes yes yes yes, that is where i heard 1000 paper cranes. at the show. maybe they will play it on friday too. that would make me extra happy.

p.s.
flood control is rubbish.

sharkie - December 5, 2003 07:07 PM (GMT)
back to the subject here. mars volta and jet were my favourite recent bands. they both ruled. the coral sucked. continue ...

silverdinosaurs - December 5, 2003 08:03 PM (GMT)
The Mars Volta was good, I saw them on the Glasgow leg of the recent tour
Although I have to say I'm sick to the back teeth of every "alternative" music magazine, tv show, radio show etc jacking off over them.

And heh, the Coral.. did you expect them to be good? Just kidding

Back to subject: D wooper
Thrice and Coheed & Cambria, 4th of March, aaah how awesome is this going to be! I am going to cream my pants.

Except I'm pretty sure that by then all the magazines etc will be pimping coheed to the max and the place will be full of stupid nme kids
Then I will be more disgruntled than usual

sharkie - December 5, 2003 08:54 PM (GMT)
i did expect the coral to be good considering how famous they are. i mean loads of people can't be really really stupid. can they? i am going to see bands soon homegrown and lost prophets. prophets i think are going to be good except for the teenage girl sluts that are going to be there like the ones at AAR/MCS who were bitchy as hell and are very deserving when i elbowed one of them in the stomach.actually i think i knew the girl, i think she goes to my school but who cares.im the tall one.the almighty taller one and therefore cleverer. i spose people younger than me arent so bad because they give me a great view anyone 5"7 and under are totally welcomed.

KniTingGrl - December 5, 2003 10:05 PM (GMT)
i love being tall.

NEWS! NEWS! NEWS!
i am going to see from autum to ashes avenged sevenfold and on 12/12 and then count the starts and copeland and the early novmber on the fourteenth howwwww howwwwwwww great how fantastic delicious super cool awesome amazing
hidden in plain view?
casual blue?

broken epi - December 6, 2003 06:35 PM (GMT)
news that everyone all knows....mcs rocks me. only four people raised their hands when justin asked if we were feeling sexy. i was not one of them.

sharkie - December 7, 2003 03:50 PM (GMT)
i would have raised all my hands. although i only have 2. :(

silverdinosaurs - December 7, 2003 04:24 PM (GMT)
I'M FIVE FOOT SEVEN!

HOORAY! I AM WELCOME

I don't expect us to ever be at the same gig though. Unless Leeds festival next year?
Yes, I'll be the one who is five foot seven. The only one.

P.S Homegrown suck, but their fans will be less annoying than aar fans for definate.

sharkie - December 7, 2003 04:32 PM (GMT)
are you a boy or a girl?i like homegrown because, i dont know, umm... i like the song reflection or something or rather.

broken epi - December 7, 2003 04:50 PM (GMT)
january 30th is the worst possible day for motion city to come to chicago. i'll explain this later.
