Title: The Sorting Ceremony

Prof. Alazair Higgins - April 26, 2003 04:36 PM (GMT)
[OOC: OK everyone, you can post in here about your 'official' sorting. Once you've gotten your E-Mail back confirming what House you have been sorted into, you can post that in here. In the meantime...Have fun!!!]

Alazair Higgins stood up behind the Staff table and smiled down onto the crowd of students that had gathered into the Great Hall. "Welcome everyone to Hogwarts. I am pleased to see so many fresh faces, some of you returning, others of you new. We will commence with the Sorting Ceremony for the incoming First Years. When your name is called, you will step forward and place the hat on your head. Once you have been sorted, please join your fellow students at the appropriate House table."

Smilling, Alazair took his seat and scanned down his list of names. Taking a look, the first name on his list was...

Parvati Delacour - April 26, 2003 05:44 PM (GMT)
Delacour, Parvati

Parvati looked around at the other first years. She was extremely scared. then, slowly, she walked to the front of the hall and up to the Sorting Hat. She sat down on the stool and placed the hat on her head.

Imediatly, a small voice in her ear said, "Ah. Yes. Parvati. It's your turn. I remember well when your older sisters were here. Both were Hufflepuff weren't they? And your mother and father. A Hufflepuff and a Gryffindor. Where should you be placed?"

Parvati looked around the vast hall. Everyone was staring up at her. She wanted the hat to make its decsion and quick.

"Well, you're braver than you think, that's for sure. Your friendly and loyal too. Not much patients though. Your ambition is not that high, but your intelegence. You value many things different than what your family does. You can use your brain power to help through many troubled times. Yes, you contain many things that each house values, but I think I've made my deicision..."

"RAVENCLAW! That hat shouted out loud.

Parvati breathed a sigh of relief as she took off the hat and stood up. There was much cheering in the hall, especially from the Ravenclaw table. She bounded down the steps and sat down next to her fellow Ravenclaws.

Charisse Fairchilde - April 27, 2003 02:15 AM (GMT)
[OOC: this is my sorting from my first year, since i'm trying to RPG as a 5th year in the Hogwarts areas... if that makes sense? cuz we all got resorted anyways...]

"Charisse Fairchilde!" Alazair called out from the list.

A small framed girl walked up to the platform and gazed out at all the staring pairs of eyes. She nervously sat on the stool and the raggy hat was placed upon her head;

"Ehhh a Fairchilde! I instantly smell your courage and bravery, but wait... you've got those wits too! Hmm, hard choice you are... you'd do well in Hufflepuff, you've got your father's loyalty. Yes hufflepuff... but NO... that core of strong willingness and determination sets you apart from the rest..."

"GRYFFINDOR!!!!!'
the hat shouted out.

Charisse stepped down and went over to the Gryffindor table, where cheers were welcoming her to the table. She sat next to a few familiar faces and smiled.

Relaynie Darcy - April 27, 2003 02:19 AM (GMT)
Relaynie stood nervously with the other first years, watching Parvati be sorted. It didn't look painful, the Sorting Hat. That was something. It was odd, though, and so obviously magical that it made her nose itch. It sat quietly on Parvati's head, moving slightly. Parvati's face changed expression, and Relaynie realized that t he Sorting Hat must be talking to her. She wondered when she would be sorted. The Sorting Hat yelled out, RAVENCLAW! and Parvati went to sit at a long table with several people wearing blue striped ties with their uniforms. Hmm . . . snappy. Wouldn't it be a kick if she was second . . .

Darcy, Relaynie!

Startled out of her reverie, Relaynie started forward. She sat down on the stool and put on the hat. It wiggled around her ears for a minute, and then Relaynie heard its voice.

Hmm . . . well, Miss Darcy, and so you've finally come. You have the mark of your family about you, and yet you are your own. You are muggle-born, I think?

Yes, Relaynie thought. I am. Is that bad?

Not at all, though some will try to convince you that it is. You will be tested . . . you are tenacious. A Gryffindor, maybe? You have a strong heart, I see, yes, but something else . . . a determination beyond mere bravery. You would help anyone you counted a friend, even if it were not in your best interest. Loyalty I see . . . and stubbornness. Are you aware of your fate? No. But you will learn . . . I think . . . yes. You will be a HUFFLEPUFF!

Relaynie sat for a minute, stewing. Just what exactly was the sorting hat babbling about? Tested? When?

But the Sorting Hat was already being taken off her head. She joined her new housemates, who looked friendly enough and settled in to watch the rest of the ceremony.

Keith Lenwe - April 27, 2003 09:25 PM (GMT)
Keith Lenwe stood with the rest of the first years, impatiently tapping his foot on the floor waiting for the hat to call his name so he could drop the false look of happiness on his face and get some food.

He watched as one Relaynie Darcy was sorted into Hufflepuff. He was really starting to get irritated when...
Lenwe, Keith
He walked to the sorting hat and sat on the stool, with his arms folded across his chest, and looked around as the hat was placed on his head

Ahh, Mr. Lenwe a voice said in his ear Where to put you? You do have wits, that's for sure, maybe Ravenclaw, then again you are loyal to those you trust, Hufflepuff wouldn't be a bad choice either.... He was getting annoyed by now so instead of listening he thought Can you hurry up you filthy old hat, I have better things I could be doing right now.
Very impatient, aren't you? You also have ambition, and a want to prove yourself to those who thought you could never make it as a wizard....Yes, but you'll show them, won't you? SLYTHERIN and the last part Keith heard echoing through the silent hall, the hat was removed and he made his way to a table of clapping students. He sat down at the end of the table and rested his head on his hand as he pretended to be interested with the rest of the sorting, waiting for the feast to start.

Ashlee Sully - April 27, 2003 09:52 PM (GMT)
Sully, Ashlee

A young girl with shoulder length black hair walked up to the stool and start down quite calmly. Instantly she heard a small voice in her ear:

Ahhh, yes Miss Sully. I remember your parents well, both Slytherins of course. As was your brother Matt. You have all the traits of Slytherin and you wont let your past experiences stand in the way. You wish to succeed in this world and you have the capbility to do so. You're also loyal and rather witty, but in your heart you are a...

"Slytherin" shouted the hat to the students.

Ashlee walked over to the Slytherin house table and took a seat next to Keith, "Hello" she smiled

Felicia Hartwick - April 27, 2003 10:23 PM (GMT)
Felicia Hartwick stood in front of the rest of the students watching "The Sorting". What is the big deal about this, they put a old gross looking hat on your head, it talks to you, and then you get placed." she thought to herself. She watched a Darcey, Relaynie get sorted into Hufflepuff. The a Lenwe, Keith stepped up to the hat, she smiled as she watched. I think I'll have to keep an eye on this one." She heard the hat shout out Slytherin and she watched as he walked to the Slytherin table. When she tuned around another person was on the stool, a Sully, Ashlee, who was also sorted into Slytherin.

As she watched Ashlee make her way to the table she heard, Hartwick, Felicia

She took a deep breath as she walked slowly to the stool, her eyes on the hat at all times. Felicia turned and sit down and felt the hat being placed on her head. Her first thought was, Gee, didn't their mother ever teach them you're not suppose to share hats!"

Mmmmm, apparently you have wit about you, Ravenclaw would suit you... but wait ...... no, no, no signs of being patient about you, is there dear?" Felicia tapped her foot to stress that point. Cunning, very cunning, just like your father was when he was here........ yes, yes.....
it must be............ SLYTHERIN!

Felicia smiled, just a little, as she stood up and walked to the Slytherin table. She sat down across from Keith and Ashlee, before she could say hello, her fellow Slytherin on her left side shook her hand congratulating her in being sorted into the house. He held on a bit to long for her liking, and she had to shake his hand hard to finally get him to let go. SHe finally was able to look across the table and smile to Keith and Ashlee.

Prof. Breena Brightheart - April 28, 2003 07:33 AM (GMT)
"Brightheart, Breena"

Her eyes shot up to Professor McGonagall's face at the sound of her name. Though her stomach turned over, her outward appearance was cool and collected. She moved through the crowd of students, and stepped up to the stool. As she sat down, she felt the weight of the hat settle on her head.

A Brightheart, are you? The hat began. Yes, I remember your lot. Ravenclaws they were, though your father should have been placed elsewhere. Your brother, too. But they did not have what you have, did they? No, indeed.

Breena interrupted the hat with her own thoughts. You know where I belong. There's only one place I should be sorted. All of my family before me have been Ravenclaws, so just announce it already.

I'm afraid not, my dear.

Breena's breath caught in her throat. What did you say?

I said, I'm afraid not. Your talents would be wasted there, though the Ravenclaws would do well to have you. I am sorry if you do not agree, but I have no other choice. I must sort you where I see fit.

Breena's eyes widened, she didn't like the feeling she was getting from the silent conversation. She had been practically guaranteed a Ravenclaw sorting, but obviously that wasn't going to be the case. Surely the hat wasn't thinking.....

Wait!

No time....it has been decided.

Think about what you're doing...what may happen...the power...

I have....

"SLYTHERIN!!"

The sound of the hat's cry echoed through the Great Hall.

Breena's eyes flashed to the Slytherin table, which remained completely silent. The hat was removed from her head. It was over. There was no turning back.

She slowly stood from her place on the stool, and started walking towards the table. As she felt the eyes of her new housemates burning holes through her, she momentarily wondered what sort of welcome she would receive....before deciding that she didn't care....

Wynter Lao B. Finn - April 28, 2003 03:14 PM (GMT)
Wynter watched the students getting sorted one by one, anxious to hear her name. All the last students had been sorted into Slytherin. She was wondering what house she'd be in...

Blackbird, Wynter Lao!

She looked at her twin with nervosity, then walked to the hat, her long black hairs tangled in her scarf and her pale silvery skin shining strangely. She sat on the bench. There we go, now...

"Well, my dear, what have we got here, an expatriate? Both your parents went to Ziyoushanzi, eh... Your dad in Dongna, your mom in Nànqi... That is like Gryffindor and Ravenclaw if I can say, and you have traits of both... What am I going to do with you? Sure have a lot of wisdom, you value that quality a lot don't you? But you're intellectually developped already, would Ravenclaw be any good... You're loyal, indeed, and ambitious... But I see you much rather in...

GRYFFINDOR!!

Wynter got up, relieved. She was into the idea of going to Ravenclaw, or Gryffindor, so a huge smile took place on her face. The House of the Brave? Her? Oh well, if the hat said so!!

She walked to the table and sat between the students who were already there.

Prof. Lex Malfoy - April 28, 2003 07:34 PM (GMT)
Malfoy, Alexia he said.

Lex looked around and noticed a few peoples faces turning to see who was going to be sorted next. She slowly moved forward and walked up to Alazair. She gave a weak smile as she sat on the stool and heard a voice whispering in her ear.

Interesting... the hat muttered Very smart, ambitious too...and brave...oh yes...very brave. Father was in Hufflepuff, as well as your brother...but you my dear, you are different from them...yes i do believe you belong in...

GRYFFINDOR!

Lex heard the people clapping and cheering as she removed the hat and sat down at the Gryffindor table.

Amatae Tylar - April 28, 2003 08:00 PM (GMT)
Natalea stood in line, waiting to be sorted. She stood there nervously. She wasn't sure what to expect here. Her mother was not like them, and her father, well, he was well known amongst the Hogwarts staff.

Disturbed from her musings, she heard her name being called.

Garren, Natalea!

Mustering up some courage, she walked up to where her old family friend Alazair Higgins stood, waiting to place the sorting hat on her head. He smiled at her assuredly letting her know that she was going to fit in fine here at Hogwarts.

She sat down on the rickety old stool, and the musty old hat was placed on her head. Ahh, I see your family has returned. But there is something different about you isn't there. Yes...I can see. Your a half-elf. You are afraid of your secret being made known to those that ridiculed your mother as a child. Have no fear child. They are not learned of the powers your family possess.... Natalea's thoughts trailed off into her own little world. What powers? What does her mother possess that she hasn't been told about? Again the hat broke into her thoughts. But you take after both your parents in courage. Especially your mother. She would sacrifice her life for those she loved and cared for. Aye, I know where you belong, ahh yes...

GRYFFINDOR!!!!

Natalea stood as Alazair took the sorting hat off her head. She walked over to where several Gryffindor's sat, clapping wildly. She saw Alexia Malfoy sitting there, and walked excitedly over to sit next to her.

Astraea Candidus - April 28, 2003 10:46 PM (GMT)
"...GRYFFINDOR!" The Hat announced, and Natalea Garren walked oer to the Gryffindor table.

Astraea twisted a lock of her hair, anxious to find out her house...

"Astraea Candidus!"

Grinning lopsidedly, Astraea plonked herself on the spindly stool provided by Alazair and looked around inside the oversized Hat.

Yes, Godric Gryffindor did have a "watermelon-sized" head, as you put it, the Hat said, and Astraea grinned wider. The thing continued...

I can see you like to make trouble, it observed wisely, Just like the winds that are a part of you... but you stick to your beliefs... I think old Helga would like that. Not to mention the effort you put into your training and the use of your... ahem... gift for healing. Yes... I believe you'll suit...

"HUFFLEPUFF!" She heard it announce to the world, and she ran over to the appropriate table, skidding to her seat like Tom Cruise in that old Muggle movie. Then she laughed at herself, and sat down, glad of her placement.

Time to shake these badgers UP! she thought to herself. She smiled predatorially, anxious to get started.

Hari Granger - April 29, 2003 02:04 AM (GMT)
Hari walked nervously up to the sorting hat. Oh goodness, very difficult, very difficult indeed. So much bravery, and quite loyal as well. Also smart and cunning. Hmmm...yes, I think it is.... "HUFFLEPUFF!!!" the hat shouted . Smiling, Hari walked to the Hufflepuff table and sat down next to Assstra.

Prof. Neci Estralita - April 29, 2003 03:49 AM (GMT)
Neci watched with curiosity as the other students were sorted. Forget the butterflies, she had stream rollers in her stomach. She held her breath as she anticipated her name being called.

A few minutes later she got bored with being worried and decided to look around the great hall.

Several minutes later she started to stare into space.

"Estralita, Neci"

She walked quickly to the stool and sat up straight as the hat was placed on her head.

"Ravenclaw!"

Neci walked over to her table and sat down. She was still numb from what the hat had told her, but she wasn't ready to share.

She turned her attention to the next student being sorted.

Prof. Alyson Hill - April 30, 2003 05:55 AM (GMT)
After the young Ravenclaw spent about two seconds on the stool, a lavishly dressed blonde girl sauntered up to the seat. Already well acquainted with the houses, she sat, nose-in-air, with the hat on her head, waiting expectantly for its analysis.

"Well, well, well," the hat said to her, "I see you've already made up your own mind." Alyson smiled a sneering little smirk, recalling the glee with which she savored her hatred, corruption, and power. Yes, she thought to herself, we are used to getting our way, aren't we?

The hat spoke again, snapping Alyson out of her daze.

"Ah yes, you are a vengeful little one, with a taste for decadence," the hat paused dramatically, "But you've done a poor job of hiding that sharp wit of yours, and as elitist as you are, you know you base it on intelligence, not wealth...Ravenclaw," the hat spat out the house's name as though it were an insult. To anyone else it would have been just as good as the next house, but to Alyson it was received as intended. She blinked her eyes several times in shock.

"What?!" she cried incredulously. Her family would never be disappointed with a Ravenclaw, but Alyson lacked the maturity to realize the merits of the house. She stormed off in utter disbelief, shooting sidelong glances at the Slytherin table, which she had quite expected to be heading for.

Marie Thenes - May 1, 2003 10:37 AM (GMT)
"Thenes, Marie!"

Marie walked up to the stool and sat down. She hadn't really been paying attention as her mind tended to wander a lot.

The hat was placed on her head and she silently listened to the old Hat's voice in her head, sifting and sorting through her thoughts, all just to find out what house would be best suited for her.

After a few more minutes, the Hat finally came to an answer, "Gryffindor!".

Dazedly, she walked over to join her fellow classmates at the Gryffindor table, wondering a bit on what the Sorting Hat had told her about herself, stuff she didn't even know she had in her...

Buffy Potter - May 1, 2003 04:34 PM (GMT)
"i hope so .. i dont want to be waiting for you till the breaks in the great hall"

Suki Kohana - May 2, 2003 07:56 PM (GMT)
The short girl took the example from the rest of the students and continuously clapped as each first year stepped down from the Sorting Hat. She looked back at the long tables, naming them all in her head in fear she would not know which one she would need to walk to. They brought her back to the reality that was happening with another set of applause, smiling happily to the girl that stepped down until...

"Kohana, Suki!"

Her head zipped up to the stool and hat, walking up with 'excuse me' and 'pardon me'. With her back to everyone she then turned around quickly to sit on the stool, her hair gracefully following her head movements. She sat down straight and her gentle green eyes looked up at the hat placed upon her head. Her head sometimes nodded, soft smiles emitted from her or sometimes looks of confusion in response to what the hat was telling her. It felt like she was up there for quite some time for she was anxious to know which house she belonged to then...

"Ravenclaw!"

When the hat was removed from her head, she smiled happily as she approached the table with the loudest applause, the house that was now her own-Ravenclaw.

Azalia Greenleaf - May 4, 2003 09:36 AM (GMT)
"Greenleaf, Azalia"

A tall, pale girl with long dark hair walked towards the front of the hall. The only way you could tell her true feelings was by the look of nervousness in her pale green eyes.

'Greenleaf.. You are unfamiliar here.. why not go back to your own world, be with your own people? It's what your heart desires.. I know it is. You hide behind a cold mask, removing yourself from others. And you hide well. Intellect, wit, cunning and ambition. That is what you possess, but Slytherin or Ravenclaw? The hat tempted her. Whatever else you may have, your wisdom and intellect outshines much of it.. don't be afraid to show who you are, you know you can.. you're a

RAVENCLAW!

Blaze Deadmarsh - May 7, 2003 02:14 AM (GMT)
"Deadmarsh, Blaze"

A tall, stocky, long haired fellow approached the stool......He turns around and sits.....He feels the sorting hat being placed on his head.....

"Deadmarsh.....yes, I remember your father when he came through here some decades ago......I sense you have his keen eye for detail and his strong constitution to stand up for what you believe in your heart.....But I also sense something else that I didn't with him, a resounding intelligence......That must have come from your muggle mother......Hmmmm....Slytherin or Gryffindor......Narrowing it down to that, I guess I'll say....SLYTHERIN!"

Annie Black - May 7, 2003 03:50 AM (GMT)
Annie watched her friend Blaze being sorted to Slytherin. Somehow she knew that this was it - she was th next. Before she thought of anything else

"Black, Annie!"

She never could remember how she went and sat down on the stool. It seemed to her that she fell down half the way to there, many in the Hall laughed. She felt the hat being placed on her head and darkness surrounded her eyes.

"Hhm, young Black... Annie. Let's see what we've got here. Yes, you have a noble heart and high moral values... and about to break not one school rule..."

"Never!" shouted Annie in her mind

"... a good daughter too, but you don't know everything about yourself yet. However, there is a desire to do a right thing... You are independent but you would die for your friends, very loyal to others. Hufflepuff would suit you well. But I see a great mind too. Oh yes, and eagerness to learn. You are nothing like your Gryffindor brother and mother. And your father , extraodinary Slytherin, I believe? Difficult... but yes... very strong will, brilliant mind, so be it RAVENCLAW!!!"

Annie jumped from the stool and as soon as the Hat was taken away ran to her table. Her dreams came true, her fears that she is not qualified enough were behind. She was in the house she knew was the best (for her). She was greeted by other members off her House and then turned to watch "Chambers, Eleonor!" to be sorted.

Ella Chambers - May 7, 2003 11:03 PM (GMT)
Ella stood nervously in the line, rocking back on forth on her heels and trying to look casual.
She watched her friend Annie being sorted, and thought wistfully if she would ever be in Gryffindor, the house she wanted.
Before she knew it, McGonagall shouted "Chambers, Eleanor!"
Ella cringed angrily at her saying her full name but brushed it aside as she climbed nervously up the steps to the staff table and sat on the stool.
She gulped, put on the hat, and closed her eyes.

"ah, yes, Chambers. I sorted your grandmother you know. Wise old Ravenclaw she was, but...let us see. You certainly have the traits of a Ravenclaw, but also some of Gryffindor. But yes, I know which one out rules..." She listened to the hat with in her ears, her eyes still closed, and bracing for it's answer.

"GRYFFINDOR!!"

Ella opened her eyes and skipped happily off to the Gryffindor table.

Darcey Goode - May 8, 2003 03:29 PM (GMT)
"Goode, Darcey"

Darcey walked slowly up to the front of the Hall, ignoring the muttering of students who she was sure were wondering why a 5th Year was being Sorted, and sat on the chair while the hat was placed on her head. A second or two later, she heard a small voice in her right ear ...

"Hmmm, where to put you?" it said. "There's ambition, yes ... and cunning, wit, intellect, bravery," at this, Darcey thought Yeah, right! "daring, compassion, helpfulness ... yes, I think that's where I'll put you." At this the hat shouted to the entire Hall

"Hufflepuff!"

Prof. Sarah Kerrigan - May 9, 2003 04:20 PM (GMT)
Adel watched as everyone else were sorted in the different houses. She was very excited. When she heard her name, she took a deep breathe and slowly walked to the chair. Then she felt hat touching her head.
"Hm... said a voice inside Adel's head. An interesting one. You have a lot in common with you brother from Gryffindor, but never on time. And you are ferelly loyal just like your mother from Hufflepuff, but the biggest resemblance is with you father from RAVENCLAW". Adel then stood up and ran to the table. Everyone greeted her with excitement. She was very happy to be in this house. "Thanks everyone"-she said with wide smile.

Laurie Fairchilde - May 13, 2003 11:26 PM (GMT)
"Fairchilde, Laurie!"

Laurie's heart pounded in excitement. Waiting for her name felt like forever. Ignoring all the eyes staring at her every move, she walked forward. She simply sat on the stool and placed the hat on her head. She gulped wishing the hat wouldn't put her in a house she wouldn't want to be in.

"Ahh... another Fairchilde? Well, let's see... you would do well in Ravenclaw but also in Gryffindor. Yes, I see that you own bravery and loyalty. Better be...

"GRYFFINDOR!"

Laurie sighed in relief and hopped off the stool to join all her cheering friends.

Meredith Lauren - May 16, 2003 04:28 AM (GMT)
Meredith watched Fairchilde, Laurie! get sorted. She was very nervous. She was so nervous that her hands were clammy, her heart was pounding, and she felt sick. She was absolutely petrified. She remembered her sisters, Felicia and Virginia, had been sorted into Slytherin and hoped to be there with them. All of a sudden she heard:

Lauren, Meredith!

She slowly walked over to the stool and let Professor Higgins put the hat on her head. Noticing the staring eyes of the other students, she felt like she was on stage. She was excited, but at the same time, couldn't wait until it was over. She listened to the hat talking to her:

A bit nervous? Well don't be! This is very exciting. Both your sisters were sorted into Slytherin; your mother in Hufflepuff...I see that you are extremely loyal to your friends, intelligent, are brave, clever, and fight for what you believe in. Even though these characteristics belong to all four houses I will choose one. Slytherin? Maybe...Ravenclaw? Maybe...Ah yes, I have made my descision. Your bravery outshines you and you clearly belong in...

GRYFFINDOR!

She couldn't believe what she had just heard! She was excited to be in Gryffindor, but wanted to be with her sisters. She gladly accepted her fate and sat down next to Laurie; the Gryffindor's cheers saturating her head. She looked over at her sisters. Felicia had a look of complete shock on her face, while Virginia stuck her tongue out at her. Meredith's heart sank, but she knew she was ok. After all, she had the Gryffindor bravery in her! She smiled, laughed and watched the rest of the first years get sorted.

edit: changed Professor McGonagall to Professor Higgins.

Lacey Greengrass - May 17, 2003 09:32 PM (GMT)
Cheerfully a ghost floated lightly into the Great Hall to beheld the sorting students, with dark brown eyes and a smile to all.

The next clue was the book this ghost held in her hands. Her whole form silver-edged and with a translucent form that nonetheless from where the students were could still see the colors of her garb. With smooth dark hair and indigo rimmed glasses as well as the loose navy tunic and breeches embroidered with silver-gray ravens.

The snake that had wound itself under the ghost's breeches went unnoticed except for the end of a hanging tail. And a Siamese cat perched on this ghost's shoulders.

After all it was she the Ravenclaw House Ghost.

Tambaqui Potter - May 18, 2003 12:10 AM (GMT)
Alazair called

Tambaqui Potter...

Tambaqui walks up to the stage and took a big deep breath...
Alazair then place a hat on Tambaqui...

Sorting Hat: Well, well, well... You are deaf, an interesting person... It seems you are a honest and upfront type of person...
You are a nice person, certainly not an evil so you are not a Sltherin... Hmm this is a very tough decision... It seems you can either be a Hufflepuff or a Gryffindor... But i have made my decision

Tambaqui hopes for Gryffindor... ^_^

Sorting Hat... GRYFFINDOR...

Tambaqui Potter jumps up with joy, and the Gryffindor cheers wild...
I stepped down the stage and join with the rest of the Gryffindor fellows

Fern Davant - June 15, 2003 10:23 PM (GMT)
[ooc: oooh afro dude...i really love hpu for the smilies :afro: ]

Davant, Fern

Fern walked up cockily, then tripped on the hem of her robes and stumbled on to the stool holding the sorting hat, knocking it off. She quickly bent down and scooped up the hat. Balancing herself precariously on the stool she placed the sorting hat on her head. All the professors had neglected to help her, she noted sourly, but they were all in stitches of laughter so she forgave them. She tried to relax and as she did a tiny voice buzzed in her head.

Well, you are quite intelligent. Though you don't want people to know it. Very misguided, your certainly devious enough to be in Slytherin. Your brave, and kind. Friendly, well friendly in a bossy sort of sarcastic manner. Quite the sense of humor, too.

What's it to you, Fern thought with a grin on her face.

Hmmm well yes, let's see your dad was in Ravenclaw and your mother in Hufflepuff. You don't seem a bit like them. Well this is tough, but i guess its best if

GRYFFINDOR!!

Fern stumbled down with a broad grin plastered across her face.

Zell Vincent Cloud - June 20, 2003 08:16 PM (GMT)
Zell Vincent Cloud Eleniak

As Zell heard his name he stepped up to the sorting hat hoping he would get in Slytherin since his parents wouldn't accept anything else. As he sat in the chair everybody could see that he was kinda cocky and a show off. As the sorting hat was put over his head he sat "Just say Slytherin that's the place where I belong"

"Ohhhhh. I can see, so you are the first one in your hosehold to ever attend to Hogwartz. Ohh I also see a great potential and a great ability with the Arts. Also I can see a very powerfull power  A Fire Elemental! I have never encountered one of you before. But still this is an easy choice. I saw where you belonged since before i was put over your head I just wanted to know more. I guess it will be.......

SLYTHERIN!!!!!"

Zell stepped down the chair and headed over to the Slytherin Table.

Kievan Tao Ordlay - June 20, 2003 08:30 PM (GMT)
(ooc: bare with me people, im having to rp as a prefect age so im gonna go a bit flashbacky at one point!!)

Arkday watched from the gryffindor table and saw his younger brother in the line waiting to be sorted, Arkday smiled and gave him the thumbs up mouthing, 'dont worry' at those words, Arkday was reminded of his own sorting ceremony.......

[flashback]

Arkday stood tentatively, swaying on his jumpy feet as he heard, Ordlay, Arkday he sighed whispering to himself, "here goes, no turning back now..." he stood on the stage, walked over to the professer with the aht and sat on the stool. Feeling the weight on him, he realised he wasnt composed for this experience.
Young Lord, we do have a probolem here, where to put you! I see a prosperous future for you in three of the houses, Slytherin - your great Aunt leaving her mark, yes i do remember Crudellia.

Arkday shivered, vowing not to enter his Aunts house,

you are not stupid either, a Raven would be a fine match, but you are not too studious - your intelligence is natural talent, not through your own hard work - a pity. I see troubles in your life, clouding the judgement I percieve. You would thank me later for not being too harsh on you

Arkday was dumbfounded, was the house going to make him a hufflepuff, or a gryffindor? He looked to both of these houses, seeing cheery faces and anticipation in both, 'i WILL thank you!' he whispered to the hat as it screamed loudly,

GRYFFINDOR!!

Arkday grinned, hearing the cheers that had become custom at the sortings, sitting at his house table, he felt very content - a feeling which would never leave.

[flashback over now folkes!!]

Arkday snapped back into concsiousness as he noticed his cousin, too, stood in the line, waving once more he saw her grimace - her shyness seeping through. Arkday sat back as another mounted the stage.

Luthien Greenleaf - July 2, 2003 01:27 AM (GMT)
"Greenleaf, Luthien"

Luthien shuffled nervously to the stool. She sat down and immidiatly a tattered hat was placed on her head. It slipped over her eyes and nose.

hhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmm said a voice from inside the hat hhmmmmmm. You're intelligent, yes...clever..... very brave. Yes, yes. This isn't too difficult.

GRYFFINDOR!

the hat shouted to the rest of the hall. With a sigh of relief, Luthien walked over and sat at the table with her fellow Gryffindors.

EDIT: the size didn't work

Sarah McPotter - July 4, 2003 09:51 PM (GMT)
(OOC: I should have done this a long time ago. LOL)

McPotter, Sarah!

Sarah took a deep breath and sat down carefully on the stool. The hat went past her eyes so she couldn't see anything.

"Hmm... a muggle-born, eh?" The hat said to her and Sarah jumped a little bit startled. "Let's see, I see a strong sense of ambition but no need for power. Perhaps... no....

And not very brave are you?" Sarah frowned under the brim of the hat.

"I see loyalty, friendship, and kindness are among your best qualities. But no...

I believe you possess many of the talents Wise Rowena once had. Yes, yes, a sharp wit and a clever mind. You most definitely belong in...

RAVENCLAW!"

James Summers - July 4, 2003 10:42 PM (GMT)
"Summers, James!"

Despite the fact that he was only eleven the red-head that walked up and placed the hat on his head somehow seemed to convey the feeling that he owned the room. Sitting down he placed rthe over-sized hat on his head with a confident look on his face.
Confident, aren't we. said a small voice in his ear.

'Of course. I know where I'm going'

Really? I see inteligence here.... loyalty too... a large amount of guts...

'I hope you aren't thinking of putting me in Gryffindor.' even the boy's thoughts were contemptuous.

So much like your father Robert, aren't you James? Of course with a need for power like your's there only has to be one place....

"SLYTHERIN"

Taking the hat off James strode over to the Slytherin table with a satisfied smile on his face, very pleased with the large amount of applause he was getting. Of course there had only ever been one place a Summers could go....

Aurora MacBeth - July 4, 2003 10:47 PM (GMT)
[ooc: I've been here a few days, so I should probably do this now, eh? ]

Aurora MacBeth stood in line, her nervousness being the only thing she could think about. Why was she here? Why had she, a complete muggle born who knew nothing about any of this, decide to come to Hogwarts? Because deep down inside, you know you wanted to come...

"MacBeth, Aurora."

Her name was called, snapping her out of her space-off. SHe looked up to see a few of the new kids she had met reassuring her with smiles. There was Layla and Luthien. She smiled back and pretended she wasn't unreasonably frightened.

As she sat down, the hat was placed on her head. It began speaking almost right away. "Well, I can already tell that you aren't brave," the Sorting Hat said, matter-of-factly. "And while you are ambitious, you aren't set when it comes to getting what you want..."

The Hat had trailed off, thinking hard about something. "Ah," he exclaimed, "there it is. A musician, a reader and a writer? You may be a slight introvert, but you are definitely a studious person who likes to have fun occasionally. You'll fit in very nicely in...

...Ravenclaw!!!!" he shouted.

Amidst cheers and shouting, Aurora joined the Ravenclaw table, with a genuinely happy smile on her face.

[ooc: edited b/c I'm spastic]

Alyson Weasley - July 14, 2003 09:57 PM (GMT)
Weasley, Alyson

Alyson walked up to the sorting hat nervously and put it on. She was hoping she would be in Gryffindor, but knew she wasnt brave enough. She awaited silently for the sorting hat to start to speak.

"Ahhh yes... You have much talent... Very intelligent, oh yes very. You arent the type to turn to the dark side... no-it would never happen to you.... Very friendly I see... You'll do great here at Hogwarts... But where shall I place you? "

Alyson was thinking to herself, "Please not Slytherin... I'm not evil... Not Slytherin."

"Oh? Not Slytherin?"

Alyson nearly jumped out of her seat when it said that, how did it know that?

"Well then... With a great mind, talent, and great intelligence... It better be...

RAVENCLAW!

Hey, it wasnt Gryffindor, but it wasnt bad.

Alyson ran over to the Ravenclaw table excitedly and sat down next to Sarah.
