Hey all,

For those of you that don't know the Quidditch try out threads currently in the Quidditch Pitch forum are the official try outs. Anyone who wants to be a player must read the first post and follow the instructions there.

The positions in Quidditch are the same as in the books, 3 Chasers, 2 Beaters, a Keeper and a Seeker. We are looking for one of each, plus a reserve who will stand in for any player, from each house. So thats 8 of you for all that can't count.

Quidditch here is not played in IRC as our members are all in differnt time zones, and a few are still in school/work when others are going to bed for the night. All games are played as RP in the forum, and all players are expected to post in the matches. If you don't post, you let the team down and either I will remove you or your team mates will hold a vote to see if you should stay.

Points are scored not by how many goals you RP scoring, but through answering riddles and questions on HP which are sent by PM by myself, and will have to be answered within a set time limit.

Please can all get down to the pitch and post before the end of October as I need to get the new season underway!

I have to say I am worried about the state of the Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff Quidditch teams. That is rare, as Ravenclaw beat Slytherin last year and I am still a little annoyed.

So, I am setting a deadline, I need to see another 3 sign ups by both houses by November 5th or I will be assuming that unfortunatly there will not be any participation by these houses.

If this occurs, then the entire Quidditch Cup will have to be cancelled untill next year as we can not play with less than 3 teams.

Please, do not let your houses down.

The final date for sign ups will be November 12th. After this date I will pick players, and start voting for captains in CRs.

And thankyou to all those who have been posting in the threads, and attempting to help myself with the current situation.

Dear Professors,

As it seems more and more likely that Hufflepuff will be unable to form a team for this years quidditch cup I am considering letting the Professors form the 4th team and participate in the Quidditch Cup this year. Please would anyone interested respond to the thread in the staff lounge.

Yet another update.

Hufflepuff has 5 players on their team, which seems to be all of their current active members and if another two can not be found by the twelth of November 2003 then I will be asking two players from other houses to join their team. These players will be voted upon by the current Huffie players.

I am still considering the idea of a Professors team anyway, to keep all the students on their toes.

All sign ups close on November 12th and anyone arriving at HPU after that date and wishing to participate will be voted on then signed up as a reserve player if the team wants them.

How's it going with the teams? Look like Quiddy is going to work this term? I was just wondering when the teams would be announced because I'm getting all excited about it :smile:

I just avout have the Slytheirn and Ravenclaw teams worked out, and as usual both are looking great.

I am having a few problems with Gryffindor and Hufflepuff still. We have had one Hufflepuff prefect who has to leave for a while, and two members of Gryffindor who probably will not be able to play, plus Wyn is becoming the school nurse soon.

So, I will announce the Slyth and Raven teams this week, then let you guys get on with planning an practicing while I sort out the messes of the other two.

I want to try out to become a reserve of the gryffindorteam.

ATTENTION. IMPORTANT NOTICE.

I am starting to schedule matches today, and all teams need to elect a captain, and players need to visit the locker room by the 15th. I am not joking here. I want to start matches by next week, hopefully this weekend, and have a free day tommorow.

I am PMing every Quidditch player and tracking the messages, so anyone who does not read and answer their message by Friday will be considered off the team. Harsh I know, but as there are more teams, less experienced players and I have less time to sort all this out so I can not afford to have any slip ups.

All players need to revise the rules, and check they know how to play. Team captains that have already been elected need to make sure your team mates are aware of how we play Quidditch here, and need to make sure that your team can answer the questions and riddles. If I start getting stupid PMs about how to play I will be going after captains this year.

If you can not make a match then you need to get hold of the reserve for your position and post in your locker room that you can not make it. If the reserve can not make the match then you need to notify me and your captain. Once I have decided on a chedule this year I will not be changing it so if you can't make it its your problem, not mine.

You will be removed from the team for the following offences:

• Not turning up for a match
• Not answering the riddle/question PM
• receiving any warning points during Quidditch season
• Foul language or misbehaviour in games (which will also loose your team 10 points)

As all should know only Quidditch players and the refree may enter a game thread, and any student disobaying this will recive punishment.

And after all that I am off to do the PMs.

I'm having some issues with the PM system, and couldn't get online this weekend. I am hoping to get the match posted by the end of the day, but I am in classes untill late. Don't worry though, all things come to those who wait. Apparently.

Has someone from the Slyth team contacted Marie, because I CAN'T START THE GAME UNTILL I HAVE THE CONFIRMED TEAM.

I seriously have neither the time or patience for all this. So, if I don't recive some kind of confirmation of the Slyth team by Jan 21st then the match won't be played untill after all th others (which means May).

It's ok everyone! Marie is definitely fine to play the match so confirmation is there.

as I am going to be away and some teams are yet to find replacememnt members I am going to re-schedule matches. They will all fall upon a Saturday or Sunday still, but will probably be a few weeks after the original dates.

I really don't know when I will be able to be back full time. I'm spending a lot of time waiting for e-mails and doing all the bits and bobs that should have already been sorted out, as well as making robes and cloaks for people. Managed to break the thing I use for turning the wood to make wands, so I either have to fix that of give up.. Bla bla bla..

But anyway, Ravenclaw and the Staff teams are apparently sorted out, Slytherin seem to be, and Gryffindor and Hufflepuff are on their way to being ready. So, I hope you will all make sure your teams are present and correct by next weekend as I will (hopefully) be around more then.

I am very sorry about the delays I am having with Quidditch, but just recently I have had a hell of a lot going on (as some may know) and this isn't being helped by a recent problems with the police (that tale is in my Blurty).

Anyway, I was hoping to start Quiddtch on the 14th, then realised it was Valantines day and I had to spend the day hiding from idiots with flowers (honestly, if that were an olympic sport I would get gold!). So now I am hoping to get a game started today, after I have typed a statement for the authorities, checked teams, and gone over the schedule.

Oh, and had lunch. Its officially 32 hours since I have been able to stop and eat. Which is bad. My tummy is growling and threatening to digest itself!! :blink:

So, if your a Quiddiy player please be sure to check back later (4pm GMT/11am EST) to see if I have actually managed to get anything done....

..............As you may have noticed my last cunning plan to get Quidditch started has fallen through. All I can say is at least by the end of this we will know who is serious about playing as they will have hung around!! :bleh:

Anyway, I apologise for the further delay but unfortunately it was un-avoidable. After I had finished posting that the authorities called about some things I can not mention here (once again its all in the journal) and that has been keeping me pretty busy for the past week. Though that has not ended I am hoping to get back on track this week, unless something else happens and I have to deal with it (which I have no doubt it will).

God, I feel awful, but I can't make it the first match. I'm busy all day that day because my dad's side of the family is coming over for a birthday party for me, since my actual birthday is the 29th. I'm really really sorry!!!! But I'm sure that Drakeon would be more than willing to take my spot, since he's suppose to be the backup or whatever.

I really am sorry Fe! I'll be at the other matches though. This one is just a really bad time for me. I feel so bad now... :unsure:

I don't think the matches will last just a day..... Maybe I'm wrong but if I remember rightly when I was following the matches last term, I think they went on for far longer than a day...

The matches last 2 to 3 weeks, so one day is not going to matter Audrey. The only reason a reserve needs to take your place is if you are away for more than a week during the match.

I'm going to have trouble with the first staff match too, Fe... *sob* On March 3rd, I'll be leaving for a trip. I'll try and make a quick appearance in the morning, but I'll be gone until about the 10th.

I'm really sorry and furious with Whoever or Whatever decides to throw roadblocks in my fun ( :glare: ), but it's unavoidable.

*looks around and frowns* Did I miss some announcement or something? Caause the game didn't start yesterday....... Just kinda wondering and confused is all.........

ok, I'm gonna shut up before someone gets really stressed and decides to throw a shoe at me for interrupting their match-planning process.

Sorry guys and gals, I got called in to do a police interveiw this weekend (I didn't even think that they took interveiws on a weekend), and then my brother went out and locked the PC up with some stupid program that encrypts everything so I can't use it.

Also I don't feel comfortable starting at the moment as the Gryffindor team seems to be AWOL. Victor is the only one that has bothered getting in touch with me, so I still have no confirmation of their team. If you want to actually play any games this year I suggest giving them all a kick in the ass.

If all things work out now I will start both matches on the 3rd as I have a free day, and I've called to confirm I won't be needed anywhere. If ALL the Gryffindor team do not show up by March 15th then I will take a serious look at whether I need to replace team members with ones that will show up and check their locker room on a regular basis.

I don't think its much to ask that someone from Gryffindor gets in touch and simply tells me who the hell their players are, is it? I did ask on Feb 26th, for Friday......... no, wait......... thats strange.......the 26th was Friday....... I am more than sure I posted that before Friday though....... strange.........

Anyway, matches on March 3rd, Gryffindor need to be around by the 15th, Fe very pissed at everything (including several inanimate objects).
