Title: Gameboy Advance Sp
Description: I got it, is it worth you getting one?
Otacon - March 28, 2003 07:04 PM (GMT)
I recently purchased the gameboy advance sp. I dont have any other gameboys, and I thought of getting a gameboy advance before, but luckily i heard about the sp. The GBA SP is about $99.99. So This is gonna break the bank if you, or your parents decide to buy it. I pretty much reccomend you buy it yourself if you dont want your parents all over you about the value of treasuring what you have. Anway the SP is pretty much the same as the GBA, but has a light built in, and it folds out. Here are are some pictures.

My cell phone, and the SP. My phone: 5 inches including antenna. GBA SP: 3x3(folded).

GBA SP: 6 inches height (folded out)

My phone thickness: about 3/4 of an inch. GBA SP thickness: controls- 1/2 inch, screen- 1/4 inch, folded up-8/10 of an inch.
There are some comparisons if you are unsure if the SP is big or small. Yes that is my cell phone, and I took those pictures myself.
Pros:
- Looks a lot sleeker
- Built in Light, its actually better then the ones you put on a GBA
- Rechargeable battery, lasts 10 hours if your light is on. 18 if not. Takes only 3 hours to charge.
- Plays all the old GB, GBC, GBA games
- Since it folds up, your screen will stay smudge free for a long time.
Cons:
- Its expensive, come on, $100 isnt cheap.
- No headphone jack -_-' . Gotta get an adaptor.
- Shouldn't buy if you already have a GBA. You could just sell it, or trade it in though.
- Um I can't think of anymore
I hope this helps anyone planning to buy a Gameboy Advance SP.

tigrillo(stan) - May 14, 2003 02:08 PM (GMT)
hehehe that's the way i'm playing hhhb game :P
Wobbuffet - May 14, 2003 02:15 PM (GMT)
But emulation is illegal.
And ROMs are illegal too.
I am in dire need of a GBA.
And I don't wanna get caught by the law for emulation.
Rivermonster - May 14, 2003 09:40 PM (GMT)
...You're joking...Is that your only reason? Dont be paranoid, I've been emulatin for 2-3 years now, and if you can show me a cop that'll go door to door checkin computers, THEN I'll stop. But seriously, if ya change your mind, IM me, I can hook you up.
Wobbuffet - May 14, 2003 10:28 PM (GMT)
Alright Rivermonster. But let's say that the president said "I got a good idea to stop illegal emulation and the illegal download of ROMs. How about every policeman in this whole country goes door-to-door checking computers and if they find any ROM, ICO, and emulation software that is illegally downloaded, the owner of the computer will be arrested"
For example-if they caught you playing Kirby's Adventure on a NES emulator and you don't have the actual system and cartrige, you'll be sent to the "big house".
I'm afraid of the "big house".

SWEET JEBUS!!!

Lucky you, I don't have either. :(
Oxnard - May 20, 2003 03:18 PM (GMT)
I'm 23 and still don't have a cell. I must be the only person my age without one.
CoreMaster - May 20, 2003 08:02 PM (GMT)
Oxy, most people don't have a cell since they're very expensive. I'm surpised how Otacon managed to get one.

He wouldn't say that b/c he's smart enough to know that that would cost more money than all pirating combined costs american companys(movies, music, games of all sorts)
seventhson - May 20, 2003 10:08 PM (GMT)
plus, he doesn't have the power. It would have to be a joint effort between federal state, and local governments.

ive got an addition to The cons, someone at school told me that the rechargeable battery dies after 3 years so you have to buy a new 1 or something since they don't know how to replace it yet O.O;; what i mean is rechargable batteries explode permanently after bout' 3 yrs so u have to buy a new system since the battery dies and tehy don't know how to replace The battery yet!
Otacon - May 21, 2003 02:54 AM (GMT)
Actually the case is the same with all things that require charging batteries. Rechargeable batteries start to lose battery life after constant recharging. And I don't think they don't know how to replace the batteries. I went against the manual, and took a peek inside. The battery isn't hard to take out, though I don't reccommend people to just replace the battery if they don't know how to.
And about emulation, sure I do that. I do it to sample games before I buy them. I'm not always gonna be at my computer, so I need something to entertain me when I'm out, besides my lame cell phone games.
