I <3 teh gundamz!!!!!
I never really liked it even when my friends were into Gundam Wing until the "final countdown" thing they had on Toonami...like 2 eps of Gundam Wing per day through the whole series, the last time shown on Toonami, and I caught most the eps.
Mobile Suit Gundam was awesome but too bad they made it so hard to watch then finally took it off completely. Most people called the old animation "gay" but I saw it as cool and classic.
MS-08 was an odd one. They didn't show it for very long at all on Toonami compared to the others, and it was the ONLY one that wasn't shown a LOT or is STILL showing on Toonami and wasn't shown at ALL on Adult Swim. I loved the graphics and how the battles were more realistic but I didn't catch many episodes of it.
Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket was really wacked-out. I hated it the one time I stayed up and saw it on Midnight Run but I saw 2 more eps whihle it was on Adult Swim and it was ok. But I've only seen 3 eps of it and hardly know anything about it but it was nice to see the war in a new perspective.
Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory is a lot like MS-08 for me--I liked it, but hardly got the opportunity to watch it! It was ONLY seen on Adult Swim saturday nights and I'm not always up for TV then. I saw about 4 eps and noticed it had really nice animation and cool battles but it still didn't have much on classics like Wing, GG, and MSG as most of the story was just about his little emotional battles instead of that rAAw gundam action.
G. Gundam--HERE WE GO. THIS is the one that I've seen EVERY SINGLE ep of at LEAST once and is by FAR my favorite of the Gundams yet seen on Cartoon Network. It has action, betrayal, romance....and a whole lotta destruction!--as stated by Stalker in the Toonami promos. I caught this whole series because I'd recently gotten back into Toonami because of Hamtaro and was then watching Dragonball/Hamtaro every day, and by the time GG had gone through a full showing there were new DBZ eps unless I'm wrong. It seems cheezy at first but if you keep watching you get pulled in. It just got more and more exciting and emotional until what I believe was the absolute climax and apex of all action/drama, Domon and Asia's fateful final battle. The last couple eps weren't near as great except the very last one, minus the SAPPY defeat of the Dark Gundam's ultimate form, where the whole team pit together their efforts and all that stuff happened at the very end...
so yeah.

G Gundam. Ultimate.
I aslo liked Gundam Wing.
Isn't there another one after Gundam Wing? I can't remember it's name right now... Endless Waltz? Or is that part of the same series?
;_; Bad memory.

Kimono--Endless Waltz was a movie that takes place after Gundam Wing, with the same characters and everything.
Lila--Then you should watch it! G. Gundam's coming on now on cartoon network, you should watch it every day at 4:30.

I must be the only person that thinks G Gundam sucks.
I like Gundam Wing, the original, and 0083. I haven't seen any of the others.
I think G Gundam has a horrible plot. Colonies fighting for control over earth martial arts style? Sounds awfully generic to me. And what happened to the cockpits? The pilots seem to float in their suits somehow. And it's ridiculous how the suit just mimicks their actions. For instance, they punch, their suit punches. Wow.... That takes away the skill of actually piloting the thing and brings the focus more on how great of a martial artist you are.
That leads to my next rant. The show unsuccessfully tries to blend two genres; the sci-fi/giant robot genre, and the martial arts/master vs. pupil deal. If I wanted martial arts, I'd watch Dragonball Z or Yu-Yu-Hakusho.
Besides, the characters are extremely cheesy. I never will understand how so many people think this is the best show ever.

hmmm..........NOW what do I do? Oxnard squish says its bad, and Other people squish thinks its good! eh....I'm gonna listen to what Sabu says.........

Rivermonster - January 23, 2003 11:32 PM (GMT)
I like MS:08 cause its the kinda thing actually beleivable, fights on the ground militarty style. Strategy and stuff.(I played and beat the Dreamcast game, MS08 sidestory) If gundams ever would exist, thats the kinda gundam I'd like the most, guns and swords, strategy and no-nonsense kinda stuff. Also, I wanna use one thats more like a computer than the ones in like G-gundam and Wing.
