Series Post here any set of books which is a trilogy (3) or longer. A series may be either fiction or non-fiction. (Examples are J. K. Rowling's Harry Potter series or Sue Grafton's Kinsey Milhone murder mysteries series.) Individual books may also be posted in their respective genres' threads.

Historical Fiction This forum should contain books which are based on actual (historical) eras or events, but which are largely fictional (made up) in the characters that appear and events that happen in the books. (Examples are James Michener's Alaska and Lew Wallace's Ben Hur.)

Action This forum contains books which has the action of the characters as the main focus. The books are often part of another genre such as mystery or historical fiction, but the "doings" of the main charcters are the focus. (Examples are Tom Clancy's The Hunt for Red October and Alistair MacClean's The Guns of Navarrone.)

Romance This genre contains books which focus on "love stories" and/or epic travels which involve great love and great risk, and great achievements or disappointments. These are usually fiction--if a book deals with real people, then place it in the non-fiction forum. (Examples would be Nicholas Spark's The Notebook and Thomas Mann's Death in Venice.)

Comedy This shelf should contain books which are primarily fiction, but which focus on humor. (Examples would be Patricia Reilly Giff's The Winter Worm Business and Douglas Adam's The Restaurant at the End of the Universe. This latter book is also part of a series.)

Non-fiction This forum contains titles which are based in reality: historical accounts, auto-biography, biography, social commentary, philosophy, psychology, travel, Do-It-Yourself, art, etc. (Examples would be Mitch Albom's Tuesdays with Morrie and Margaret Barnes' A Buzzard is My Best Friend.)

Realistic "Life" Fiction In this forum, books that are fiction but based on "real life" experiences (as opposed to fantasy) may be listed. Some of them may also qualify for other forums--so feel free to list them twice. This forum is likely to be "heavy" in books that deal with life crises and psychological scenarios. Examples would be I Never Promised You a Rose Garden and Flowers for Algernon.
