Title: Free Virus Scanning
Description: Panda Software

Panda Software has free online virus scanning at http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/co...n_principal.htm

Do not mistake this for realtime scanning (like having the program on your pc) but it works great, removes a ton and is updated daily. They also have a bunch of removal tools (including Blaster) that you can find on http://www.pandasoftware.com. They are a great company, and even if you use Norton, it is worth running a time or two to see if all has been caught. I have used their Panda Antivirus Platinum for years and it has saved me a number of times (while Norton is excellent, I had my only real virus related formats while running Norton). Like I said, it is online and free, so give it a shot! :gu2 :wav

I saw the word "free" and had to open the post!

I think spam and viruses are getting worse and worse.

Our cable company supposedly sent us an email. It had their name on it and looked like it was from them. The subject was strange so I didn't open it but called the cable company.

They had not sent it and there were tons of people who had gotten a virus from it.

When in doubt, I just delete! I've probably deleted allot of nice people but I didn't know!

AVG by Grisoft used to be the last free Antivirus scanner that you could download and use for free. It was very nice and worked well. It wasnt quite as feature packed and Norton or Panda Titanium or Panda PLatinum, but it worked great. Well, all good things come to an end I guess and with the release of AVG ver. 7 it now costs $33.00. Not a bad price but for an few dollars more you can get Panda Titanium (sometimes only $29.99 on sale) or for around $50 you can get all the features of Norton or Panda Antivirus Platinum. For free online scanning, you can;t beat the one above. McAfee charges for similar scanning, though I think both Norton and McAfee offer some free scanning online. Panda Platinum has a great firewall built in. I always wondered how it worked so well, then I found out it was Sygate Firewall which is a very good program as well.
