Haggai 1:5 Now therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways.

Today on my way home from the VA hospital, I was giving a lot of thought to the things I was doing in my life. Are my actions pleasing to the LORD? Are my thoughts pleasing? Are the things that I'm saying pleasing? In my prayer life, am I just saying words to be done with it, or am I speaking to the Father? I have to consider my ways. It is hard to have peace in my heart, when I think on these questions. The Spirit brings guilt into my heart when I fall short in my actions, in my thoughts, in things I say, and in my prayer life.

In Lamentations 3:40, the writer tells us to search and try our ways, and turn again to the LORD. When I think about my past actions as a Christian, I have to consider what I'm doing, and about what I've suffered. Being a Christian, I've learned, is the most important thing in my life. But unless I learned to consider, what the Lord wants me to do, just how effective of a Christian can I be? James 1:8, teaches us that a double minded man, is unstable in all his ways. It's easy to be a double minded man, but it's a challenge to listen to God, when he tells you to consider your ways.

Heavenly Father, again we come before you and thank you for your Son, the Lord Jesus, who gave himself as a sacrifice for our sins. Lord, we ask that you would help us to consider our ways, and how we can better serve you as your children. We thank you for the love you have for us through your Son. In Jesus' name we ask, amen.
