Yet another non-biodegradable item is Aluminum Foil: Here are 12 ways you can use it and save nature.
We knew aluminum foil was used for wrapping food to keep it warm. But over the years, its uses have increased a great deal. Here are a few:

AROUND THE HOUSE:

KEEP PETS OFF THE FURNITURE
You bought a brand new sofa set and don't want your pets to sit on it. Just lay some aluminum foil on it when you aren't using it, and your pets will not try a second time, once the foil makes crackling noise when they sit on it.
SHARPEN THOSE SCISSORS
If your scissors have been blunted from constant use, just take some aluminum foil and fold it in 7 to 8 neat layers and cut them together, with your scissors. That'll do the sharpening trick.
CLEAN YOUR JEWELRY
For both, gold and silver jewelry, just wrap them up in aluminum foil and keep them overnight in some salt solution. Wake up next morning, to find your jewelry nice and shiny!
CLEAN YOUR FIREPLACE
Having problems cleaning all that soot in the fireplace? Just lay out some heavy-duty aluminum foil under the wood grate. When you're cleaning it in the morning, just wrap up the foil and toss it away.
FIX LOOSE BATTERIES
Have the springs in the battery compartment of your favorite MP3 become loose? Just attach some aluminum foil to them tightly and place those batteries!

IN THE KITCHEN:

BAKE PERFECT CRUSTS
While making pizzas or pies at home, cover the crust with aluminum foil. This way, the crusts remain fine, instead of getting burnt, and the rest of your item too gets baked perfectly!
SOFTEN UP BROWN SUGAR
Has all the brown sugar you bought yesterday become hard? No matter! Just wrap it up in aluminum foil and bake it in the oven at 300 F (150 C) for 5 minutes.
MAKE A PASTRY BAG
Can't find your pastry bag for decorating the cake? Then just fill a tube shaped heavy-duty aluminum foil with one end closed, with free flowing frosting and squeeze away! Moreover, there's no untidy pastry bag to be cleaned, just toss the foil-bag away!
TOSS MORE SALAD
There's a party at home and you have to make loads of slad. But where's the extra-large salad bowl? Just line the kitchen sink with aluminum foil and toss away!

IN THE GARDEN:

SCARE BIRDS AWAY
Hang strips of aluminum foil from branches of your plants and trees using fine thread (like mono-filamentous fishing lines) and the noise will drive away your feathered thieves!
CREATE A SUN BOX
Plants tend to grow towards sunlight, but if you want your plant to grow straight, cut off the top of a large cardboard box and line the inside from all sides with aluminum foil. Place your plant within this box and watch it grow straight!
PROTECT TREE TRUNKS
During winter, many rodent and small animals like rabbits feed on the sap of young tree. But you don't want them to gnaw a hole through your favorite tree? Then just line the trunk with 2 to 3 layers of heavy-duty aluminum foil.
