Title: Posts

TheMissingCloud - June 28, 2008 07:49 AM (GMT)
I understand that we are all busy, our time is rather limited and as such activity is at a low. I also understand that any activity is better than none so I hate to be a "party pooper" and actually do my job by pointing attention to the rules, but not all activity is "good" activity.

No I'm not talking about spammers and bots, those are a minnor annoyance easily dealt with. I'm talking about the quality of posts.
I know there has always been a big contrast in posting among the members here where some can write a paragraph explaining thier points as much as someone who writes three pages, but I'm getting tired of the "one liners/one sentancers". If a topic is about what time you get up and go to bed then surely by all means feel free to use a mere sentance, but when discussing a more thought provoking topic please try to add a little more depth to your posts.

As I said I understand we are all busy and we don't all have the time write three paragraphs, but seriously if you are going to take the time to post then at least take the time to write something a little more worthwhile. Activity may be down and the staff has become a little more lax on the rules lately, but I draw the line at post quality. Please try to explain your answers more, dive into why you think that, how you've forumulated your opinion and what leads you to believe such.
This isn't an english class and I don't expect everyone to write a term paper for every topic or idea that comes up, but I don't think its too much to ask that you explain you answers. A good explanation should be more a simple sentance that leaves the reader saying "hmm, I wonder why they think that" after reading it.

For example if I ask "Do you like Moogles?"
Post 1: No.

Post 2: No, because they are stupid and annoying.

Post 3: No, because its annoying how they always call people "kupo" and the whole look of them is stupid.

Post 4: No, its annoying how they always call people "kupo" and I just find the whole look of them to be stupid. An overweight stuffed cat with tinny wings and an antena on its head!? That's something so messed up only a mother could love it, or perhaps a child who doesn't know any better =P. In other words its not my cup of tea.

Post 5: No, I always found it annoying how they always call people "kupo". They must have some sort of mental block which is personified by thier physical apperance. I don't know I guess I just find the whole look of them to be kind of dumb. I mean an overweight off-white stuffed cat with tinny little wings and an red antena on its head!? F*** the what. That's a face only a mother could love. I supose they have the whole "cute" factor going on which gives them mad points with children and women, not that there is anything wrong with that it's not my cup of milk 'n' cookies.

Post 1 - will get you killed by the Chocobo's we have managing the rules. Remember the staff doesn'tgive out Phoenix Down's so freely.
Post 2 - will get you round-house kicked by the Rule Chocobo's. Yeah you explained yourself, but not very well. Try a little harder next time lest you enjoy a red bird foot print on your chest. Trust me your friends will laugh, it will be the school paper, it will ruin your entire life...for one week.
Post 3 - this is better and defintely acceptable. It keeps the Chocobo's at bay, just don't look them in the eyes or make any sudden movements.
Post 4 - this is what I'm talking about, this is good! Chocobo happy, Chocobo like posty.
Post 5 - here we enter the realm of TMC posting which only I have the copyright on...though STOWA and a few others tend to violate it. If you post like this you may want to see a doctor as you may have an actual medical condition called insnaity. The Chocobo's will litterly run away from once you reach this level.

I would love to see more posts but summer's kinda hit me hard and ever since Graduation from college I'm never on a computer. Actually, I bought a laptop in the spring to be on MORE, but I find myself on less now.

I've been away the last 2 weeks running basketball camps and church camps, so sorry for my little hiatus. Time to get rolling again.

I agree! You've made a good point! Less one liners and more thought please!

I've always been a fan of longer posts though, hence my tend to make my posts longer than just a simple quick answer! Oh and hopefully I'll be back more myself seeing as I have less to do in the month of July. June was pretty hectic what with all the birthdays and the Radiohead gig (oh and lets not forget visiting my family). So yeah fingers crossed I'll be online a whole lot more now!

Hehehe I couldn't resist making it look like I did a one liner too! So silly but so fun, I blame the fact that work is so amazingly dull today!
