Title: Draw

Oooo ya got me. *dies dramtically*

Here's a few drawings I uploaded to DA recently a couple of them are hidden from most since its in my scrap collection.

Drawing - My best 3/4th view drawing ever!

Scrap - Random Page, Cloud's head, a couple guitar attemts, a really shitty Anime Dante, and a cool sword.

Scrap - Experimental Page, just be experimenting with drawing different parts of the face to get a shape down that I like. Developing my own style if you will.

I've got a couple other images planned that I have yet to draw, but it might be a little bit before I get those done, I've been kinda wrapped up in work and personal problems lately. One going to be an image of the main character for my planned webcomic, another the main character and his best mate (so Ethan and Lucas if this was Ctrl+Alt+Del) the last will probably be another experimental page with facial features.

Hehe your Cloud looks like he's pissed off!

Your page of experimenting reminds me of some of the doodle pages that I do. They are normally filled with loads of different style eyes and faces. I think it's a good way to practice actually because you'll find a style that suits they way you draw. I would suggest you do pages like this whenever you can, even if your stuck on the cash desk at work, just grab a bit of paper and doodle!

The swords and guitar bits are cool. I really like the sword actually. It reminds me of a mixture of a DMC sword and one of Tidus'. I always try to stay away from drawing weapons mainly because I either do some boring Katana or I find what I do draw looks unoriginal.

Your 3/4ths drawing is good. You're definitely starting to get there, you just need to practice more. I know it's hard with lack of time and stuff. I normally try to draw at least once a week. I keep telling myself I'll start drawing once a day but sometimes I feel too tired to get any idea's out. It might be worth you finding a basic anatomy tutorial to help you get some of his body parts more accurate. Something like this might be quite useful:

Anatomy

I know you don't use the anime/manga style but the basic construction is there and you can apply that to your style. I even started using this kind of technique because I was getting so bored of drawing characters in the same style and knew I needed to progress.

Keep up the hard work and most of all keep practicing and you'll feel confident enough to start your web comic in no time. I just hope I've been of some use!

What do you mean? Cloud's always pissed off or at least glaring lol. I think I was using the FFVII booklet as reference for that.

The sword was based off of Nero's from Devil May Cry 4 which is why the handle has that sort of motorcyle handle look to it. The skull is kinda based off of Paine's and when it comes to sword drawings I usually do the same kind of thing myself, a curvey Prince of Persia style sword with some very sharp looking points and curves. It makes it look more deadly.

Yeah I know I need to get the anatamy thing down a little better, thanks for the link. On those promo images I'm creating I'm trying to do a full body shot of my characters since when I finally get to my webcomic they are usually cut off around the waist anyway, but its still nice to be able to draw that kind of stuff.

Thanks for the reply and the feedback.

Hehe no problem you know I'll always try to give feedback when ever any one posts up drawings!

It's definitely good to get some full body practice in even if you are only gonna draw the torso. It just means that if you decide to do covers or other promo images you have the skill to be able to do them. I even decided to do some anatomy practice last night, just because I haven't drawn a full body person in a while!
