On this day exactly 5 years ago Ross created a place simply called Final Fantasy Forum also known as The Promised Land. It’s hard to believe it’s been a whopping 5 years already. Even hard to believe I’ve almost been a member here for 4 years, 3 of which were active. Well I wish I had some interesting forum facts for you and whatnot but I don’t so the rest of this topic is for birthday wishes to the forum and to tell how long you’ve all been members here, maybe even reminisce on some of the things that have happened here in the past.

Keep in mind this is the forum talk section and post counts are raised so try not to post anything too spammy; although given the nature of the topic I’ll let a simple “happy birthday” wish slide.


In case you didn't hear the news in this topic the member nominations have been extended an extra day and will close today at 11:59 WST. Then tomorrow the polls will be put up and voting will comence until the end of Saturday. On Sunday the 20th I will reveal all the winners and hand out the snazzy trophies. I've only been a member of FFF for 2 years, and the first year I wasn't even that active. During the time I was a member, FFF had its ups and downs, mostly downs, but we have dedicated members who try to keep this thing alive. And I think that's with success.

Yeah happy birthday, its good to see it's still up and running even if it is a lot slower then it used to be but it's still alive and that's what matters, I mean who know's it may be soon or in the distant future where it will become as popular as it used to be.

I've been here almost all five years, though I admit I wasn't active for a lot of that time... and I've left on more than one occasion... but I keep finding my way back!! Its good to see the forum still active with wonderful members (and vivi).

haha, I'm right with you there TMC, I dont know how long ago since its been...that I joined up...ages.. spent months posting,months being banned, and more months posting haha.

I'd like to congradulate this board on its 5 year milestone and hope for another 5 more, with even more members to come :3

Happy birthday FFF, ive been here since 2005, so 3 years for me. Ive been banned a couple of times, and ive never exactly been the staff favourite, i used to be a complete douche... and i still am. :D

Happy Birthday FFF.
Not many forums last for this long. I was here for the 2005 or 2006 birthday with a previous account later banned, but I hope to be around longer and experience other FFF birthdays.

Crazy to think it's been almost 5 years. I wasn't here at the very beginning, but with a member number of 42, I have seen most of the rise and falls this place has seen. We are sortof like cockroaches in that this place has survived everything thrown its way.

2 1/2 years for me and its been a blast, even through the hard times.

Ok well all the polls are up and completed, they should be visible to everyone sometime tomorrow later today. We have have a whopping 30 Final Fantasy awards and 23 member awards this year. They are on two pages in each section so don't forget to vote for the ones that get bumped to that second page (assuming you are using the IF default to begin with). Also as a special treat all the polls are open to comentation/discussion and posts will be raised there.

im late but happy belated birthday.

I dont know how long iv'e been here...but it has to be around a year and a half to two years. But, it's been a blast!

OK, just looked, it's been two years lol...

Wow its Saturday already, even though I woke up thinking yesterday was Saturday. Anyway today is the last day for voting so if you haven't voted for everything yet, get on that. There's a number of ties that I'd like to see broken.

Also as a note on the Best FF Overall due to Exile's goof FFIX is tied with VII at 3 votes while FFX really only has one vote.

Voting will be closed at 12:00AM Sunday EST (TMC) time after which I'll make a topic to hand out the awards.

Edit: :bump: Ok voting is offically closed, I can't be arsed to close every topic so if someone happens to vote before I look at the totals in a poll then mad props for cutting the deadline as close as possible. I'll go through each topic real quick compose a list of winners and hand out the trophies to the appropriate members.
