Title: Iraq

So guys, do you support the troops in Iraq? or do you think its about time they were brought back home?

I have a very strong view on the Iraq war (War is a strong word, perhaps slaughter would be better) and that is that It started off for the right reasons, and now its just getting stupid. I'm not sure wether i believe the blood for oil conspiracy, but it is beginning to look like a fact. I'm not a fan of George Bush and i never have been, but in my defence i'm not kicking him when he's down, i was kicking him when he was up also :P

So anyways, Opinion on the Iraq war?

Short and simple... if we completely pull out now, a civil war Will erupt. Really, the only reason there is a marginal level of peace in that country right now is that the radicals have a common enemy (Us)

I understand the intent of it and I agree with that though I don't completely agree with us sticking our nose in other countries business all the time, we have enough people who hate us for being a cocky powerhouse that trys to show we care for other countries more than ourselves. Which isn't completely wrong I mean if you look at how messed up our country is and how all the money spent on Iraq could be used to fix problems here at home. Granted we do take a lot for granted and have it a lot better than most.

I believe other countries can solve thier problems without help. Correct me if I'm wrong as it's been a while since I've had an American history class, but we had our own civil war and as far as I know no one else stuck thier nose in on it to give either side a hand or to try to break it up.

The funny thing is its kind of damned if you do damned if you dont situation. If we don't help and let them solve thier problems in the violent manners they choose then we apear like a big greedy asshole who is too stuck up and selfish to help out another country. If we do intervene then we piss people there off while also unintentially "strutting our stuff" poking our cocky heads in where it don't belong which causes others to hate us more. Personally between appearing selfish and cold I'd rather have people hate us for butting in and trying to help out. Of course some could argue that we aren't doing this because of the killing going on over there, but for once again personal gain...oil. I believe it to be rather 50/50 depending on who ask.

People amuse me greatly whenever they talk about Iraq. It's almost as if Bush never actually told the population before entering Iraq that it would be a long conflict. Also, with the media doing what it does best, and the stereotypical hate of Bush...this isn't even a topic worth discussing anymore.

Thank you liberalism.

We need them back. To secure our borders first. All this shit is happening to this country, and we need them here, not there. The first reason we were over there was faulse(im a conspiracy theorist...dont bash people), the second was a lie, the third is stupid. Were over there for a false reason, and I dont know why you guys dont see it. There is a reason why were over there...and Its not for the oil.

If it were up to me, I would bring them back (except the animal killers...david motari...id shoot him)...(and black water...we dont need them) I would give there families some kinda shit to make up for the stupid war. And then I would secure our borders. Thats what we need.

It's not a matter of not seeing it or a matter of believing or not believing in all those conspiracy theorys its a simple matter of opinon. Despite what the president says, despite what the news says each solider over there is a human with the ability to think for themselves and thus hold an opinion which may be for peace or oil or whatever. Half of them over there are probably just over there because the army is an easy way out of financial problems. Once again that's just my opinon as I'm sure a good number of soliders over there think they're helping.

Personaly I think we could use the war to solve our imigrant problem. Ship them over there, let them fight, pay them a soldiers pay and tax them on it, if they come back alive cheers they can be an american citizen.

Out of curiosity what are the three reason we are over there that are false? Also if those are false what is the reason we are over in your opinion?
