Title: Hmmmm advice?
Vespertine - March 16, 2008 06:48 PM (GMT)
Last monday I finally brought myself a pink PSP off of ebay. It was a pretty good deal £95 for the PSP and 5 games.
I've already traded the 5 games in to get Me and My Katamari and Breath of Fire III. There's a couple more games I want too like Pata Pon and LocoRoco but I was thinking maybe some of you fellow PSP owners may be able to suggest some other games that are good or you enjoy.
I was contemplating the FF tactics game but I've heard from quite a few people (my brother included) that it's pretty hard so comments and stuff on this game would be pretty handy too!
So what games would you suggest?

*jelous* I still want to get my hands on the special edition Crisis Core PSP, but considering I'm going to end up paying more for that than a regular PSP and the fact that its Japanese and it would probably cause region problems with the games I buy I've decided to give up on that. So I'm going to look into just finding a regular PSP and I'll buy a Dirge of Cerberus/Crisis Core skin for it lol.
Games I'd get:
Crisis Core
It's not even out here yet and I've already seen like every FMV/cutscene on YouTube, but this game is still at the top of my list as reasons to buy a PSP, along with Dissida.
Prince of Persia: Revelations is another one I really want since it is basically a port of Warrior Within only with all kinds of extra features and considering my GameCube version of that game got nicked...
I don't know if you like racing games Vesp, even goofy ones like Mario Kart, but I'm kinda looking into Crash Tag Team Racing as that seems to be the only Mario Kart substitute for Sony. I'd probably also end up getting something like MX vs ATV or just find a rally racing game. I'm trying to come up with more games I'm interested in to have more of a reason to buy a PSP. Seeing as how I've still only got 3 reasons (games) to buy either of the next gen systems.
Sonic Rivals/Sonic Rivals 2 seems like a good one. I love Sonic, though I never did buy any of the crazy 3D games they made for PS2 or GC. My brothers got a Sonic racing game for PS2, but of course the damn things so scratched up it doesn't play.
That's about all I can think of now. I could have swore there was a Ninja Gaiden game for PSP too, that is probably a port of the old game, seeing as how Sigma for PS3 is essientially an updated version of that. Don't know if your into that at all.

I love the Final Fantasy Tactics game... There are parts of the game that can be challenging... any random battle that you get into, the monsters are all leveled to match your characters, this way you can continue to level up... however, story battles are all at preset levels... Its possible to underlevel so that the story battles become difficult, or to overlevel and the random battles can become difficult (at which point story battles become extremely easy)... and there are a few battles that are just frustrating b/c you have to keep someone alive or something like that...
overall... if you have played the original final fantasy tactics, then I'd get other games first. However, if you haven't then I'd recommend it. (as long as you enjoy that type of game, being a strategy/RP game)

Tales of Eternia (if you liked Symphonia... i lurved symphonia), Monster hunter is pretty good. Valkyrie profile is awesome.

Thanks for the quick replies guys ^_^
TMC: Hehe I totally forgot to mention Crisis Core! I do want that quite a lot, in face it was one of my main reasons for wanting a PSP (that a I played Pata Pon when I went back home last weekend). Looks like the release for PAL is in Spring, just enough time for me to enjoy the other PSP games! I'm a Sonic fan too so I might look into that Sonic game you recommended. As for Crash I'm not really into those kind of racing games...
Yojimbo: Hmmmm I've never really watched Naruto maybe the first episode a couple of years ago... It would be cool if there was a Bleach game for it though! Ohhhh God of War! Good idea and I've still not completed the first Disgaea O_o;; I love the game but I found it a bit tedious... I'll look into it though...
Vivi: Ohhh thank you for the summary of Tactics! It sounds interesting that the random fights level up as you do but the story line fights don't... Maybe that's why my brother got stuck because his characters weren't strong enough for that sections random fights... I might see if I can borrow it off of him rather than buying it to see of I like it... I never thought I would say that about an FF game! hehe!
SG: Tales of Eternia... I was looking at the the other day! I very nearly got it until I saw Me and My Katamari! I love TOS so I'm gonna add this one to my wish list!
Thanks again everyone I really appreciate it! I have a new question now, has anyone played on the PSP version of Burnout? If so what's it like??

Keep contemplating. Aren't games better when they're a challenge? =p
I personally dont see it being too much of a challenge. All the one's i've ever played never posed even the slightest of a challenge. They were awfully long though!
As for other games, I dont know as I haven't really gotten around to trying out the PSP much.
