One morning in late march, a member will login and work their way down the forum list to Ross' Club... only to see that I have, in fact, mass deleted every thread in Ross' Club AND the Gnome Forum.

This results in my being imediately banned, TMC stages a walkout in protest, but not before making threads everywhere about how evil the admins are.

Naturally, what will really happen to the forums is that will be made into secret forums, and you will replace them with new ones that look the same, but are empty. Much the like the Staff Forum joke from several years ago.


Busta may have noticed that I may have possible been inspired by real events that have taken place at other forums :monster:

EDIT: Of course, it has to be done in a believable fashion. The staff forum joke was impossible to accept as real because everything in it was too crazy for reality.

A'ight, so my line of thinking in this charade will be that I'm thinking if we start those forums completely over it'll force the member to renew activity, and that's why I'm doing it. Maybe we should do the Gen-FF section too?

I'm still a little confused as to what's going on in your head and all, so if you wanna type it up in a step by step process if it's not too much, I think that'd make it a bit easier for me to see what's a-brewin' in RA's noggin.

Step 1. (March...27th)
You create 3 new forums that are identical to the Gnome Forum, Ross' Club and General Final Fantasy Forum.

Step 2.
Move the original forums to the secret forum, and then put the new (empty ones) in their place.

Step 3.
I type up posts saying I'm tired of the lack of posting, so I deleted all those threads so that people will be encouraged to post more, and we won't need to worry about the rezzing rule.

Step 4.
TMC posts backing me up. Busta and AZA are not present for a day or two while this happens...

Step 5.
Busta or AZA logs in, sees what happens, Bans me.

Step 6.
TMC gets pissed off about banning me when I only had good intentions and creates a post *No Longer than 5 paragraphs, TMC* ripping on the admins for their quick, bad decision, and copies it into multiple forums for people to see.

Step 7.
TMC gets banned/suspended.

Step 8. (april 5-6)
TMC and I come back and every laughs at how we tricked everyone.

Actually to make it mroe believable then afterwards when I tell everyone what happened, I will take screenshots of the Mod Logs which would show "Releint A deleted ... topic" and I'll show like a long list of them. So what you can do is create a few prank topics titled whatever you want like "Favorite FF character". These will be ones created real quick and deleted so that they just show up in the log. Then I can show the rest of the members and be like "Yup, RA went on a long deletion spree, which is why he is banned because the deletions are irreversible".

Also, I hate how you're mocking me RA from the other Final Fantasy Forums. I may just leave you banned when the time comes...

Oh, you know it's funny. Going from one of the top 5 FF forums on the net to this humble place sure is funny.

And would it show up in the logs if I did a mass deletion? I think I have the option of doing so... I think. And I could go around deleting topics for real. Chances are nobody will be too hurt if I take soem unimportant ones out.

I've been thinking of that myself...but then again I was also thinking of maybe making an archive forum that'd be locked so no one could post in it. That way we wouldn't lose a lot of topics from the past. However, I do sort of want to delete one's that the IF bug hit and there are NO posts in now.

I'll delete some, but not all. Because I can still riffle through them and remember sortof what was in the topic before. So they still carry some memories or two.

I'd say only do like 5 or so of them, the Mod Log would only show the last 5 things you did I think. It shows the 5 latest logs per page.

Yeah, the only way your post count on here will be lowered or raised is if the Admins do it directly through editing a profile via the Admin Panel. No worries about thread or post count deletion.

The forum will look big for us mods and admin here for a while. The new ones will be hidden from the regulars and elite until the determined time.

I was also thinking of maybe making all of us show back up as regular members or elites again instead of staff. I will over-ride your permissions of course so you still have Mod abilities, but you will appear to the rest of the site to be regulars again. Yay or nay?

Then me, TMC, AZA, and RD can all be demoted but we will really just have a permission override so that we show up as regular members and we still have staff powers. Then we can ban you. Or TMC can be banned too.

Don't delete anything though, we can just play it off as EVERYTHING got deleted if we make the real ones invisible and the fake ones visible. Only staff can see the fake ones now.

I really have no idea what you're planning then. What I'm saying is that I apparently do not have the ability to mass delete topics. I tested it like 3 times. So the story won't work that well if it turns out I don't have that ability to begin with.

why would you and aza be promoted? the story I thought we were going with is that I delete eevrything, you or aza shows up and bans me, tmc gets defensive and is demotted, then suspended/temp banned.

And I know Busta was just creating them Wednesday not doing the actual prank, but because of my animosities towards Wednesday's I didn't even want him to make the fake forums on Wednesday, but since it's Tuesday and they're already done no worries.

I know it's more work, but you can say you deleted single topics, just say you spent hours deleting each topic if you have to. Course we could also lie and say Global Mods have the mass delete ability. Nobody is really going to question it anyway, unless they've ran thier own IF board and even still I doubt most of them would notice that minor detail.

Here's what I thought you were getting at:

RA deleted ALL of the topics hence why I made fake forums with NO posts in them to act as the forums that RA attacked. So actually everyone will see all of the forums, but they will notice that NO TOPICS OR POSTS are available anymore. Relient A deleted them all. You actually won't need to delete any topics, because these blank forums can make up for that now without any posts being permanently deleted.

Then we can follow your lead with me or AZA banning you, TMC getting his panties in a bunch because he thought RA should just be demoted and not banned. Than we demote TMC.

O...r we could just say Global Mods have the ability to mass delete, if anyone asks. And if anyone gets smart thinking they have thier own forum and are master of what a global mod can can't do, we'll sick the Chocobo's on 'em.

I think we should get this started soon...actually I have an idea. How about you make a topic stating that you think we should do some forum clean-up (meaning delete almost every topic), and I'll quickly reply with "No, we are not deleting topics because of the history and" and such like that.

Then, like in 2 days, before Aprils Fools day hits, I will make the current boards invisible, and make the fake forums visible so it looks like you did a mass sweep of the forums. The only topic left will be the topic where you started to say you think we should delete everything.

Then I'll come down hard on you, demote you or ban you, whatever you like, and then TMC will defend you and he will get demoted.

I won't actually demote or ban you, you will just appear demodded and banned, but will still have your mods powers via permissions override.

Then we can watch as the forums go nuts. I think just demodded Relient well be enough, and it won't seem to far-fetched. I mean one of the original members getting banned that quick may be hard to believe over-night.

Also, I think we should do this like 2 or 3 days before April 1st just to not make it AS obvious.

If I really wanted to push my "luck" so say in a manner that sort of leads up to BM demodding me. We could do something like this:

RA posts a topic saying we should do a mass clean up
BM posts, "no, site history blah blah" :closed:
TMC :opened: "lets see what the other members have to say about this"
Then either let a few people reply, who are probably bound to be against it so maybe it is better if BM instantly replies after me closing the topic again "admin veto" or edits my post which ever.

It gives me more of reason to get demodded other than just sticking up for RA and spamming the forum as it shows that I'm challenging the staff a bit. I dont know I just figured it would make my demodding a little more believable.

So a rough flow chart (I thought this was RA's job):
Today/before the end of the week - RA makes a topic suggesting a mass clean up (optional, but totally worth it)

March 30th, 12:01AMish BM makes the hidden forums visable and "bans" Relient

Later that day I get on work my magic, basically flip out about this outrage, post a long ass topic in the forum talk, feedback and spam most of the other forums trying to get everyone else to join me in my veto. Most of whom will probably be torn between being pissed at RA for deleting everything and agreeing with me.

*all hell breaks loose over the next few days*

April 2nd or 3rd we come clean and say nah jk we were just f'in with ya, here's RA. And if any really good topics are made durring that time we simply move them to the real forum sections.
