As much as I like the preset defaults and the fact that we can simply ask one of the Admins if we want something more personal or flashy I still propose that we have the ability to set our own member titles.

It's just another way to personalize our posts/account and I know I tend to want to change mine from time to time, usually only for temporay jokes or moods, but I refrain for asking because I know its frowned upon like chaning your name multiple times. Plus I just feel like its a hastle for the Admins to change peoples member titles.

If we had the ability to change our own titles we could all change it whenever we feel like it without bothering the Admins. Sure some people are still going to use the defaults or a single phrase for a long period, while others may change it daily, but that's all personal preferance, similar to the sigs and there's no restriction on how often we can change that.

I know this had never reall been an option in the past and I'd like to know why, I think its a really neat feature.

The preset ranks can still be used if people wish and obviously the title would have to remain relatively clean. Perhaps it could be a priveledge only avaliable to Elite Members and staff so you know it will be used responsibly. It could even be avaliable to everyone, I don't care. If people abuse it and post inapropriate things they can have thier priveledges taken away. Perhaps a second member group that appears normal, but yet doesn't give them the option to change thier member title. Of course it's been ages since I used an Admin CP so I don't remember if this is something you can check based on the group or if its just a general option that is either yes or no for everyone.

For opposing arguements I have:
-People can post inapropraite phrases (it wouldn't be that hard to revoke thier privledges)
-It may render the preset titles as useless (although pretty much everyone has a custom title now days anyway)
-It may become annoying to see people change it daily or more (just don't look at it? It's like a sig as long as it follows the forum rules who cares if its changed daily?)
-Obviously the Muffin Princess game just would not work at all (sorry K_D)

I suggest more than 25... if it is something to be earned, perhaps the bar should be higher than what can be easily accomplished in one day.

Im not a fan of this change, But thats just me i guess, I always liked how you had to stick to a title myself, Perhaps only Elites can change titles?

Cool, imediate action, I didn't think anything would happen that fast. You're awesome AzA. And I agree with RA that it should be more than 25 posts so its a little more of a privelege although for those with reinfors syndrom it wont matter.

50 or 100?

How about Elite members only? or something like 200-300, (Or both). Make a person show some dedication. I would say 300 legitimate posts but that would be most of us out

I was thinking the same. 100 is a special number. Obviously if you have a spam/rezz fest you can get 100 in one day, but for us normal posters it takes a little bit of sticking around and nothing shows dedication quite like 100 posts ;)
