Last year in my ninth grade English class, we were required to write a poem, through the eyes of some one completely opposite from us. I chose to write mine about a stoner.
I’m sitting alone in my room.
watching t.v. and lighting a doob.
I took out some pills to give them a pop.
my door flew open and it was a cop.
I wish I was high.
They told me my rights and said you’re under arrest.
I tried to stay calm I said what ever’s best.
To tell you the truth I’m very mad.
Don’t they know that dopes the new fad.
I wish I was high.
It’s been two years now I’m flipping out.
Finally they said your being let out.
Than I exit this place.
With a big smirk on my face.
I wish I was high
I get a cab I tell him L.A.
He said that’s twenty dollars is that O.K.
I said O.K. we started to drive off.
We came to L.A. and then he stopped.
I wish I was high.
I found a narc.
Right when it turned dark.
And with some hope,
I got some dope
I can’t wait to be high
I lit the doob and took a few puffs.
My heart stopped and said I’ve had enough
I lie on the ground about to cry
I thought to myself, I’m going to die
And it’s all because I was high.
