Title: Aeris' Fate
Description: SPOILER WARNING

As im sure you all know - Aeris gets killed by Sephiroth in order to save the Planet, so do you think she KNEW she was going to die and chose to die to save the planet, or do you think that she DIDN'T know she was going to die and that she planned on living throughout the journey?
Or do yout think that, Aeris would have willingly sacrificed herself to save the planet but didn't know she was going to die when she did?

I think she knew it was coming. The thing is, she didnt know when.
I haven't playyed FF7 in a LONNNG time, so correct me if I'm wrong.
.....actually, I totally forgot what I was going to write. Um, if she had known she was going to die so soon, I think she would have gave up the white materia. But she kept it for as long as she did cause she didn't know what to do with it......Im soooo wrong. someone explain

It's a toughy, but I'm going t ogo with Martyr, along the lines of what MR said. I think she realized what Sephiroth was after and that he'd go to any means to see it done, and part of that Had to be her out of the picture.
Honestly, why else would she run off? I think, even if she didn't fully comprehend what it was, she knew in her heart what was going to happen, so she ventured out on her own to try and save some grief for the others and keep them from witnessing it.
Although... Tifa did point out that Aeris talked about the future more than anyone. So would that be classified as wishful thinking? Or what?

Martyr for my choice. She was the only one who had the ability to summon Holy and she put herself in a very vulnerable position as a target from those who opposed Cloud and Co.'s plans.
No doubt she was scared of what she knew was coming, but I have a feeling she would 99% of the time put others before herself.

I'm going to have to go against the grain here and say she didn't realize she was going to die. I personally think she thought she was going to walk away after summoning holy all along. I don't... really have much reasoning behind it. She never struck me as someone who would straight up sacrifice herself. Maybe she knew there was the probably she was going to die, but as RA said, she was talking about the future the most. She was hoping she WOULD make it out of it alive, and was willing to do what she could to meet that end. Sephiroth just took a cheap shot.
