Description: Whats the best memory u have from it?
This Chris - January 24, 2007 07:36 PM (GMT)
my best memory is the firs time i beat the firs boss..
i was so happy i did not even let my brother tuch the playstation we got for christmas the year before because i had no memory card yet and of course i did not want to lose the "save" where i had beaten the boss... so the ps was on at least 5 days before i gave up and let my brother ruin the save so that i had to kill the boss again.... and then like 3 or 4 days later i got the memory card i wanted to buy, then i finaly got to beat him and save the game...

Hmmm.... FFVII was not my first RPG so Im trying to remember exactly when I played FF7. Um...
When I played the demo. I have no idea how the hell I had one, but I did. It had Xenogears, FFVII, and I think Saga Frontier...can't remember. Almost 10 years ago.
Anyways, I remember being completely dumbfounded by the graphics, the opening, and a main character wearing a purple-ish suit. But I was amazed by everything in it. The battle system was nothing new to me, but I enjoyed the cinematic-ness of FF7

1. Finding out what the damn save-points were in the game...
2. Meeting Aeris' adoptive mom and thinking she was hot for an older lady.
3. Running into Red XIII and being blown away by him. Awesome character.
4. The Death of Bugenhagen. *frown*
5. The Awakening of the WEAPONS.
6. Obtaining Cloud's Ultimate Weapon.
7. Cloud vs. Sephiroth.
8. Getting happy pants when I got Knights of the Round.

My most likely emotional part of the game was when Bugenhagen told Red XIII the true story of Seto, his father. I was already attracted to Nanaki's character, but once he realizes that his father was a hero and not one who died a coward, you can see the burden that was lifted off of his shoulders and the determination in his words to follow in his dad's footsteps. For me, if I could pick out my all-time favorite screenshot of FFVII, hands down it's:
This One

Well hmm..I got FF7 after playing all the other popular Final fantasies. it certainly wasnt my first one. So the graphics werent that impressive and I already knew Aeris Died. (like who doesnt) Anywa, my most memorable experiences:
1. getting stuck in the stupid desert place. My gosh, i hated it!
2. spending hours upon hours breeding chocobos to get Knights of the round! gosh, i hated it!
3. encountering Yuffie for the first time and not knowing it was Yuffie. I was like, hey, what's that. But she ran away after I interrogated her wrong..So i had to check gameFAQS!
4. is it just me or was the Shinra mansion scary >.>
Relient A - January 30, 2007 01:30 AM (GMT)
Shinra mansion was quite scary back in the day. It was about 2am, volume blasted, and the room was completely dark except for the soft glow of the tv. That and I was 10 years old, I think. I still rememebr that...

I agree with Busta, that was a great part of the game.
But the thing that impressed me most was kind of stupid. It was the first time I got to see the World Map. Since this was my second RPG, I wasn't really good and it took me like 15 hours to get out of Midgar XD

1. Going to Gold Saucer and being like "I'm gonna stay here forever"!
2. Invading Shin-Ra HQ, Action Movie Like
3. Cloud vs Sephiroth
4. Using Tifa in my party at all times *wink* *wink* Yeah, I was 10

The music. Every time i listen to the CD, I am overcome with this crazy stage of nastalgia. I usualy feel like i want to cry. The biggest songs for me is, Great Warrior, and Cosmo Canyon. Aw, I love those songs.
Vaan Strife - February 17, 2007 10:44 AM (GMT)
1. That fucking amazing music in the background of Cosmo Canyon (Nobuo Uematsu deserves a pat on the back for that one.
2. The music in Cid's flashback (again great!).
3. Playing with Cid as a character and having him swear every two seconds.
4. Making a hack of FFVII myself, nice it was. Got Sephiroth to dance, was cool.
5.Aeris' death was spectacular, she had it in for Cloud but Tifa is the only one for Cloud as they have known each other since they where small and had a VERY close relationship, glad Aeris died.
6. Giving Sephiroth his commupence.

You know what's really pathetic? I've never
actually played FF7. Yet I'm an FF7 otaku. Wondering how that works? Me too. The thing is, I met my two best friends in sixth grade, when they were in seventh, and the pair of them were TOTAL FF7 nerds, and saw fit to pass it on to me. I liked it all, but I didn't really get the fascination until I saw Advent Children, and then I was like 'WHOA, WHAT HAVE I BEEN MISSING?' By this time I was in a place where I got most of the nerd humor anyway, but that was when I actually started spending time figuring it all out (with no game and no PS system.) Wikipedia=my friend.
Anyhow, I think probably one of my most memorable FF7 moments was when I traced
this picture for one of aforesaid best friends (as she was insanely obsessed with Sephy and loathing of Aeris/Aerith (whatever) to make an X-Mas card.... It was pretty special.
cloud leonheart - February 22, 2007 02:49 AM (GMT)
Oh yeah! Cid's theme. So impowering So Great!
Oh! Nice Pic!
And if you thought Advent Children was great, OMFFFG!!! YOU MUST PLAY THE GAME!! AC story was a child's story compared to FF VII's It has so many plot twists, Character development, the story is flawless. You have to play it.
Melancholy Rockit - February 22, 2007 03:23 AM (GMT)
but if you already know the story, it can be a bit meh. Like, I didn't remember half the things thats been discussed in most of the FF7 threads like Sephy clones, turks, and the cetra race playing the actual game. I got most of that info from you guys. And now that I have this extra info, I dont feel the need to play FF7 cause I know it.
FF7 was never a very replayable game to me.
and thats creepy that you drew that on a christmas card....
Yuffie - February 22, 2007 06:50 AM (GMT)
*blinks* Creepy? My God, Madame Rockit, I don't know what you could be thinking of! Hehehehe... Yeah, I'm justalittle bit, erm, special? That's the word, yes. *coughPSYCHOcough* Ahem. Anyhow. Let us all resume our daily lives.
*pokes head out of hole Penguin-From-Madagascar style* You didn't see aaaaanything...RIGHT?

I have so many great memories of this game i cant pick out my favourites because they all mean a lot to me as it was my first ps1 game - this game is well just simply amazing i love the story i love the music i love the characters i just love this game and it was a joy to play it and it still is
The Turk - May 7, 2007 05:19 PM (GMT)
My main memories from this game were killing bosses like Gi Nattak, Material Keeper and above all Ruby Weapon after many, many attempts and then running around like room celebrating like a mad man.
I also loved the revelation that Cloud wasn't in Nibelheim at all and it was Zach instead, before the games plot revealed that Cloud was there and was the Shinra guard was done very well.
The deaths of Wedge, Biggs and Jessie were memorable as was Aeris' of course.
