I want to clear up what I think is a common misconception.

I've heard some folks talking about constantly dishing out a load of elixirs and then killing the magic pots.

This may be a misunderstanding on my part, but this is how I think this means.

Elixir--> Elixir--> Elixir--> Elixir-->........ --> Kill Magic Pot = Lots of exp and AP.

That's not how it works, the effect is limited to one elixir, using more on one magic pot doesn't increase it.

Just wanted to throw that out there.

Well, it's been a while since I roamed the Northern Crater, but after you give it one Elixir, it sort of ends the "battle" doesn't it? Like you get one chance to give up the loot, or you can flee, or attack. If you attack he does his ape-shit attack, but if you give the Elixir, it sort of fades out from teh screen and it goes to like the fan-fare scene and tells you how much AP and EXP junk you got.

Nope, you toss it an elixir and then you kill it, or thats the way it works on mine anyway, I tried attacking it before throwing an elixir and it just did no damage, no punishments either.

Also, yes, I just never bothered to change it after the big wipeout :P

The way I recall it it goes bustamo's way. But... I never did much with them so there is the possibility that I am wrong.

I don't recall ever knowing what to do. I'd find one then just run away for fear of it killing me. The most innocent battles are always the ones that fuck you over. (Cactuar, Tonberry... need I say more?)

me and lokkin, are in the european..
