Jump Festa to the rescue with some updates on the still somewhat secretive next main Final Fantasy that will be released.

With only a few sneak previews of what will be in-store for us when the compliation of Final Fantasy XIII is released, much seems to be unknown as gamers and fans alike try to figure out what this game will be about. With Jump Festa currently taking place in Japan, new information has been floating out after those who have seen the exclusive new trailer arevoicing their opinons.

The trailer dealt with the main Final Fantasy XIII game in the Fabula Nova Crystallis compilation only. Apparently the female heroine who has been dubbed "Lightning" has a different real name, but the nickname Lightning is correct. As for the trailer's visual revealings, the showing starts off with an enormous machine-like city (think Zanarkand in FFX) that hovers high in the skies above, however the people fear the threat of an invader from below called "Pulse". Even with currently living in peace and harmony due to the fact that the crystal protects their world, the Pulse for some reason serves as an intimidating factor that soon could menace the world they live in.

Apparently the floating city is a place where those of higher standards and/or the elite live, as opposed to the world below where it has been dubbed "the lower community". When the eventual day comes where the "Pulse" invades, and the "Consecrated Government" takes matters into their own hands issuing that those responsible for the allowing of the invader, must be scorned by being forced to migrate to the lower community.

The crystal then reaches a point where one must be chosen to take on the responsibility of destroying the human race in order to save the entirety of the world. This burden falls on the shoulders of Lightning, as she introduces herself in the video. Also showing up along-side, is a 2-in-1 water-wrapped summon creature that has a machine-like body. This image is made visible in the logo of Final Fantasy XIII:



As the summons raise in the air to face each other, Lightning finds herself surrounded by guards and soldiers, but to the rescue appears a new character. A young blond male in his early 20's arrives on a motorcycle to the scene as the video comes to a close.

Once the video surfaces publicly, you can bet your Platinum Armor that it will be made viewable here at RPGPlayersRealm.

Nice info you got there Busta, I`m really looking forward to this game as I think it will be one of the greatest games out when released. So the girl with the blue-hair in my sig is "Lightning" right? Well her nickname at least. Do you have any info of what the places are called in the game, The battle system used? Weapons you can use? and so on.

Gunblade is what she uses from what I hear.

The image you have in your signiture is of the character in <i>Versus: Final Fnatasy XIII</i>, one of the games in the compilation, but not of the main FFXIII game. Still though, the image in your sig, and the Versus game in general is really starting to amaze me more than the real FFXIII game.

This storyline actually sounds amazing so far... from the... tiny bit we know. Anyone see them pulling at past successes (blonde male riding a motorcycle... betcha his name is "puff of condensation in the sky")

I cant wait to see the trailer, it sounds amazing. Hopefully it will come out soon (The trailer).

As for the compalation as a whole I'm getting quite excited allthough I still need FFXII to come out first.

It all looks so cool. But one thing I don`t get is there is a Final Fantasy XIII and a Final Fantasy XIII Versus? Is there a difference? If so whats the difference? What one is "better" shall we say? :D

Well, the main difference is that they're two completely different games, with completely different stories. And since no one has played the game, you can't really say which one is better.

I can't wait for this game to come out. It looks really good, and even though I most likely won't be able to collect the other games with it, I'll be sure to enjoy this one.

We`ll find out in time because it won`t probably make a release or even an official apperance until late 07 so I guess we`ll just have to wait.

FFXIII looks great so far. I still have my hands full with FFXII though, so I'll probably try to stay clear of the hype until I'm done with that.. which, judjing by how long am I taking to play it, should be around the year 2010.

I know I will get harpooned in the chest for asking this question, but has anyone heard of a tentative release date for any of the FF13 games?

Sorry, Such a big game like this never gets a set release date or when it does it always never lives up to the claim, I`m going to guess and say the end of 2007 but its not affirmitave you could try official FF`s sites they sometimes preach good estimates.

Well according to EBgames when FFXIII was announced last E3, they gave the game a tentative release date of June 30, 2007. Now unless they have been working on this game like crazy and are completing it in record timing, I believe there is no way in hell that this game wil be released in United States any sooner than February of 2008; and that's the earliest possible I'm guessing.

Square-Enix needs to cut down on all these fillers and Compilations and "invent new" instead of "digging-up old".

So in short HojosNightmare, there is no set date.

Those are the tentatives for XIII and Versus. Apparently they've updated them and moved them back to December of 07. Tentative still, remember.
